That was a canny long walk mind but a classic indeed and you got lucky with the weather again, giving great views. I think I have only once had a clear summit once on Helvellyn, always seem to get mist buts it's always a great feeling getting there. I never enjoy coming down Swirral Edge and met a lad coming up with a mountain bike over his shoulder once 😳. I got up Catstye Cam for the first time this year and loved the view from there, lucky enough on a clear day too. Great hike, with great views on a brilliant day, it does not get much better than that! Cheers Alan

Thanks Graham, just the excuse i needed to have an early dinner from work and watch another great vid! Helvellyn via Striding edge is an absolute classic. I've done it quite a few times now but always go at the crack of dawn to avoid the crowds and also to be back at the Travellers Rest for Midday when it opens for a well earnt Pint of Helvellyn Gold. The perfect day! hopefully see you out there one day.

I did Striding Edge a couple of years back in much the same conditions but on my own, with all of that excitement and adrenaline, I do hope you didn't step in anything I may have left behind. My overriding memory is how quick it was over and the steep bit at the end was ok. I returned via Grisedale beck but always kicking myself for not doing Swirral. Another time I was stood on the top of Catstye Cam, just me and a miserable git, just lucky I guess! Now, can you explain why every time I read Eddie's comments its like he's in the room, lovely accent.
I sooooo enjoyed watching this, just like being there with you. Your videos just get better and better. And yet again, great music - the trance number on striding edge was inspired! Best wishes to you all, I'll think of you when I'm in Wasdale next week!
