I find it awesome how almost every hair metal guitarist was simply fucking amazing. Their solo's are crazy usually, getting up there with those neo-classical folks and the power metal guitarists of the past decade..and some of the progressive guitarists as well. They're half of the reason to listen to this music. Simply amazing.

@@deetgeluid I prefer this by far. Dont get me wrong, a Sykes and Vandenberg duo would have been smashing! But phrasing, interpretation, arrangements, vocals are all on point on this album. Im both glad and disappointed things happened as we know it.

This is the thing that always has gotten me... It became "hair metal..." and for what ever reason wasn't deserved. In the 1980's if you had the balls to step out there and be THE lead guitarist for a band, you'd better have the chops to do so! So many of these players are unbelievably talented. When Nirvana came in, their scene killed the real players scene. It became cool to yell, scream, and not really be able to play all that well. This is why for me, this music will ALWAYS live on!
John Sykes is so bad ass, he's NEVER gotten the credit he deserves. I know of many more out there like him too! Paul Gilbert, Jason Bieler, Andy Timmons, Derek Frigo and many others.
I think it's very cool that so many of the younger generation are checking these guys out now and fully appreciating them!

John Norum and Sykes were imo Moore's best disciples. They adopted the huge feeling and phrasing of his master and made it their own. I think on technique Sykes and Norum are cleaner than Gary, but cant touch the master on phrasing, feeling, dynamics and creativity, and I love Gary, Sykes and Norum playing equally.

Supergroup if their ever was one. Appice, Franklin, Sykes, (R.I.P. Cozy Powell). Doesn't get much better. Sykes is more known for his guitar playing, but he's a hell of a vocalist also. THIS, was a great album. I remember when I first discovered this cd, bought it, loved it ever since. 30+ yrs later, still jammin' it. If it wasn't for Sykes, Whitesnakes self titled album would have never been so huge.

    Hey
Give me the money now reach for the sky
You better believe, when I say
    I'm gonna bleed you dry
A few dollars more will keep you alive
Get down on the floor if you'd like to survive
    They're screaming blue murder
    I'm scheming to survive
    Blood money they want me
Loud hailers screaming dead or alive
There's blood on my face and I'm out on a limb
I'm fighting for life and I don't know if I'm going to win
Sirens are wailing there's no time to waste
They're shooting to kill, get me out of this place
    They're screaming blue murder
    I'm scheming to survive
    Blood money they want me
Loud hailers screaming dead or alive
    (Solo)
I'm rolling in money I'm down on the floor
Smashing the windows and kicking the doors
They'll take me alive and that's all that I'll fear
They're getting so close but all I can hear is
    They're screaming blue murder
    I'm scheming to survive
    Blood money they want me
    Loud hailers dead or alive
The bullets are flying all over my head
I aim to escape I don't care whose blood is shed
A shot in the dark with a loaded gun
They're shooting on sight till this war is won
    They're screaming blue murder
    I'm scheming to survive
    Blood money they want me
    Loud hailers dead or alive
    They're screaming blue murder
    I'm scheming to survive
    Blood money they want me

I always think of Poison (not Kotzen-album though...) , Warrant, Tuff and Trixter...
Blue Murder is up there with Zeppelin and Sabbath as far as I´m, concerned... Hair-Metal is a term I use when the music kinda sucks, I use "Power Metal" the same way...

@@sadbobbyewingsofdestiny2307 Zeppelin is Hard Rock. Thats undeniable. Same for Sabbath as Heavy Metal. Blue Murder is a mixture of Heavy Metal to Hair Metal, for being kind of a Hair Metal album is amazing. Vocals, Guitars both solos, riffs, licks. Sykes was and is a master. Carmine's great drumming and Tony's virtuoso bass playing.

Blue Murder's first record is as good as those two bands quality-wise and has more in common with them than any "Hair Metal"-Band.
Like I wrote "that depends..." though... I use "Hair Metal" as a term when image gets to be more important than musical quality or in the case of "Power Metal" in later years, following a formula that other bands used successfully...

It was my thought when graduating high school In 1989 1990 that the bands that we carry on into the nineties would be blue murder Mr. Big and Winger. Blue murder is obviously gone and will never come back Mr. Big is around and they have had some good records the 1st one was outstanding even the 2nd 1 was good wingers 1st album was great then I don't know what the hell happened to them be just completely dropped off and they became way way too soft. Always thought the blue murder was going to be a monster of a band. If the record companies were worried the blue murder would be a competitor to white snake not shore and I'm sure that they think of these things when they single out who they want and who they don't want but then again there's a buyer for everything for the most part. It's an absolute pity the blue murder never continued on I think they made while told 3 or 4 albums I know there Were 3. I think after the 1st 1 and 89 the next one came out in 9192 or they kind of fall would each other something like 2 years apart.

What are you talking about? Winger's third album "PULL" released in 1993 was their best album. It has some serious jams on it like Blind Revolution Mad, Junkyard Dog, In for the Kill, etc and absolutely kicks ass! They have also released three new albums since 2006 and they have all been solid rock albums. Also.... John Sykes had four good solo albums after Blue Murder was done. The guys in his Blue Murder band played on his solo albums and some of the tours. Two Live albums released too. Screaming Blue Murder Live and "John Sykes" Bad Boy Live!

No one owns the author rights on the rythym. If you wanna go further, Carmine did much better job, complicating the thing by hi hat beats. Listen better! Everyone puts that Bonham into thee sky; noone ever noticed that he is not capeable to play aa simple wirbble pass on snare, and later pass the wirble to the rest of the toms. Paice Ian does it in the deep dream, drinking orange juice, smoking a cigar. Bonham, Bonham, saint Bonham, seems like intentionaly made mistake. I appreciate his work, but I simply can't digest that style - look at me; I'm playing all the contra beats and minuses and it's all I'm good at. Stop puting the man where he simply doesn't belong! Paice, Perth, Copeland, Simon Phillips, Billy Cobham, ALL MUCH AHEAD OF Bonzo... ALL, I forget someone, surely...
