    Great job! I just watched the entire 1964 series. Would be sweet with a 409 and a 5/6 speed manual transmission.

      It Is still an ongoing project, a few changes along the way it is currently out getting ls swapped and ac installed then back to us for final assembly. There has just been tons of delivery and part issues and delays, but we are almost there! So stay tuned!

    How much does a restoration like this go for? As far as body work and frame off

  • @TiK2theToK

    Okay, I pretty much have a 64 impala SS in the same shape as this one. Its gonna need some work. If you dont mind, can I ask how much your customer was charged for this amount of work? Ballpark even. Thanks

    That’s quite a fog in the shop! Do you just have the one door at your shop? Also what do you use for the holes in the quarters and fenders?

    • @bpbrestorations2093
      @bpbrestorations2093  3 года назад +1

      3 overhead , 2 man doors. Got a exhaust fan out currently. Making do til we get things squared away with the new paint booth. You talking about the trim holes?

    • @maxheltzel7036
      @maxheltzel7036 3 года назад

      @@bpbrestorations2093 yes the trim holes that hold the stainless pieces, I have new quarters and fenders doors are original

      I use a template I saved from old quarters and fenders, but I do believe you may be able to get templates from online to help you know where to drill, but I generally drill a pilot hole dead center and then a carbide bit on a air tool grinder to get them to size.

      @@bpbrestorations2093 I didn’t realize that there’s a possibility of getting a template available, thanks for the tip!

    I am welding in my rear floor pan section. I have a new appreciation for how much welding you do. How do you fill the relief cuts on the new floor pan section? Some are 1/4 inch wide. My wife asked why people do this if it is so much work. I showed her your video. The end product makes it worth it. Another great video full of useful information, well filmed and edited. Thank you.

    • @bpbrestorations2093
      @bpbrestorations2093  3 года назад +1

      Thanks buddy. To fill holes or gaps with a mig welder all you need is a copper pipe or a copper weld backing tool. Have someone hold it for you if you cant reach or hold it up directly to the back of the material you are welding to keep your welding from blowing thru, and mig will not stick to copper, let it cool and then move your copper backer and bam you have welded your holes shut!

    How do you feel about acid dipping, and do you recommend any form of taking it down to bare metal.

    • @bpbrestorations2093
      @bpbrestorations2093  2 года назад

      Dustless blasting if possible

    • @bpbrestorations2093
      @bpbrestorations2093  2 года назад

      If it's old lacquer paint you have to strip it otherwise, there is really no need to completely go to bare metal.
