Awesome video, after a Sean leak and boat deflated after a couple months I repair the hole to find after being on the water all the glue on the transom had came off and the transom was hanging on with a thread. Very lucky my brand new motor survived and we got home safely. Considered redoing the whole boat or just buying another one. This video gave me a lot of encouragement to give to a try
I have a 15 foot Saturn. I was just out in the ocean to go see the dolphins. It was a little bumpy only the second time I had the boat out since I bought it used and the transom cracked about 50% across it has a 25 horse Mercury four stroke
I have a 15 foot Saturn and I just cracked about 50% of the transom. It was choppy seas. We weren’t going too fast but for whatever reason it cracked and it’s only the second time I’ve had the boat out since I bought it used four days ago. I can send you pictures to let me know if this can even be repaired or if it has to be replaced.
I really wanted to try to do this myself because I just picked up a Saturn today, but I don’t know the first thing to do! I was trying to see the tools that you used, but they weren’t listed. Is there anyway that you can give me step-by-step instructions? What do I need to buy to use? I need to get this ready within the next month.
We have other videos posted with the tools and glues we use. Same technique with similar videos. Just have to go through our channel. Everything your looking for is there.
Awesome videos as always! I have been firing lots of questions! Thank you so much for answering. Do you use CNC or just a jigsaw/router to cut the transom?
What kind of wood and paint did you use for the transom? I need to replace the floor support board under my air floor. It got bowed & has cracked as a result of an underinflated floor. Btw, thank you for showing how to use Super Seal. It was an easy fix for my leaky floor. 👍👍 I'm thinking solid wood might be stronger than ply for the floor board. Also, it would be easier for me to obtain than a piece of marine grade ply.
We use marine ply for all our builds here. But we over strengthen it by soaking all wood materials in epoxy resin before we final finish the surfaces with gelcoat. But if gelcoat is obtainable in your area, epoxy paint is just as good. Glad ro hear the Super Seal worked good for you. It's an amazing product that I had to share with everyone as I've noticed alot of marine supply stores don't have.

Please send me pictures, but sounds like you'll need a new transom. Make one yourself, and make it stronger.
What kind of glue do you use to attach Pvc to the transom
Stabond 2 part or Zodiac Z7096
Great video,
i will try to replace my transom this weekend.
What kind of cleaner did you use?
MEK or Acetone
@@gashopperinc Top, thanks!

Is this boat made of hypalon? If so, is the adhesive you use compatible with PVC? Thanks
This boat was made of PVC. Most older Saturn's are that I've seen around here.

Do you use CNC or just a jigsaw/router to cut the transom?
I use a jigsaw, table saw and hand saw. Wish I had a CNC, but you have to work with what you got.
@@gashopperinc fair enough! Jigsaw it is!

What kind of gloves do you wear when you apply MEK I’m having a hard time finding anything decent.
They are chemical resistant paint gloves we get from the paint store. Last quite a while with the amount out chemicals we use in the shop
