Its been two years since I finished this series and even now I'm still crying to it. Violet Evergarden is a Work of Art that's worthy to change the lives of Millions of People. Its not the perfect show in the world but at the end of the day, Its A Masterpiece. It will become timeless with My Number 1 Anime Legend.
this anime will remain one of the most well scripted, well animated, and well choreographed that i have ever seen. Having seen 500+ anime, i am surely confident in that my opinion of Violet Evergarden.
As a veteran with tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan I can honestly attest to the horrors and atrocities of war. I understand wars true purpose even though it appears our representatives and populous have forgotten. Our jobs as soldiers, sailors, airman and marines is to destroy the enemy and protect the innocent. We have “Rules” of war in place to prevent certain horrors and atrocities like child soldiers and this is the story of such. I offer no spoilers. I only recommend you spend less than an hour of your life watching the first two episodes. It doesn’t disappoint and I can almost guarantee you’ll be hooked. In addition, I’ve never seen an animation of this style before with the use of colors and shadowing. It’s absolutely brilliant. So on with my short story. In 2018 with a day off, wife at work and kids in school I sat down on the couch and started scrolling through Netflix in hopes of finding something entertaining. What I ended up with was a soul crushing journey that reinforced why we protect the innocent. Why we protect little girls. I stayed true to the story knowing it was written in Japanese so I watched it subtitled. Every once in a while you’ll find a decent dubbed story but in the case of Violet Evergarden, you’re best listening as it was meant to be heard and suffer through the subtitles. With season one, the special, Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll movie and lastly The Movie that was recently released on Netflix, you’ll find yourself ripped apart and put back together again just a little stronger. It’s a brilliant story with amazing characters like Violet, a former child soldier who suffers from PTSD even though she doesn’t realize it and her Commanding Officer Major Gilbert who struggles with having her on the battlefield to begin with. The side characters who help Violet along her path are just as important as the protagonist and have their own stories that reflect the sad events of a drawn out campaign. Each episode shows us not only Violet’s perspective but these very important individuals close to her as she struggles with purpose. The long awaited ending was nothing short of spectacular. This series the shorts and movies was truly worth the watch. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Also, let me know what you think.

This might be my top 1 most beautiful anime I’ve ever seen. Not only is the art fully detailed,it’s also absurdly fluid as well. I still vividly remember that one scene where she calibrates her hands,that DID NOT need to be that well animated but they did it anyway,not to mention the sceneries and Violet’s beautiful blue eyes. My goodness…this show is so pretty that it almost doesn’t feel like it’s real.
This is the only anime that made me cry in every single episode. I still get teary eyed whenever i think about some of those precious memories and stories. How i _desperately_ wish someone would watch this with me and feel those emotions with me, the way i felt deeply touched by this. It really felt like a piece of my soul was healed. I would like if some of my "broken" friends could watch it.. its such a healing remedy. 💗

Violin Evergarden is the most beautiful anime I’ve ever watched. I highly recommend it. It’s about a girl who lost both her arms in the war, and she was used as what they call a “human weapon”. After the war, she was separated from the major of the war, who she dearly loved. She became a doll (a letter writer) to understand what the major’s last words “I love you” meant.
This show was the first anime that ever forced me to shed a tear like damn dude ive seen some rough animes with sad ass plots and stuff and as I watched violet Ever garden i tried so hard to hold it in but i couldn't but even so this anime has some of the best animations that i have ever seen, truly and a well drawn/written anime.
This was beautifully made, you really captuered the magic that Violet Evergarden is. It is one of my favorite animes and this reminded me of all the hearts Violet has touched :)

I was 16, watching violet from first episode where she ask that guy what is love? I legit started crying until it reached to episode when she cried. finished the series in one sitting and never regretted any moments. Make sure you watch it in the right order!! Episode 1-4, episode 14 special, episode 5-13, then the movie. You could skip the first movie (Violet Evergarden Gaiden) as it's the only one that is meh. It's a real let down; as it really isn't a Violet Evergarden centered story. She is just a side character while you spend a pointless hour and a half around two non-centric characters who have no bearing on Violets character arc or story. It's literally the only negative thing that could be said about the whole series.

I'm on the last 2 episodes and then onto the movies. It is such a gorgeous anime. Story, art and music are so wonderful. It's far outside the comfort zone of what I would usually watch that I slept on it, despite it being one of the must watch from that year. And I'm sorry I did but glad I'm watching it now.

@@redshirtman1907 theirs two movies, the first one may seem a bit jarring though as it was originally meant to be two ovas but spliced into a movie, and the second one Violet evergarden the movie is the canon finale to the series, theirs also a 20 min canon ova which is supposed to take place between episode 5 and 6 I believe which makes the ending scene more powerful. When your through with those I highly recommend watching a silent voice which is also on Netflix, it's also made by the same studio as well
After watching this, I literally went to MAL to change my ranking of Violet Evergarden. It is my #3 favorite anime but I decided to put it on second. Trully a beautiful show.
ok, VIOLET EVERGARDEN, it's a masterpiece of sure, from the art to the plot, that's what you call as perfection. With a plot twist in the movie, it's a sad and relaxing anime with a happy and unexpected ending. I would recommend watching it, so go watch it if you haven't. I would rate it an 8.6/10
I genuinely pity those who haven’t had the chance to experience how wonderful Violet Evergarden is, the anime was practically therapy for me with how much it let me release all of my pent up emotions.
Even though videos about Violet Evergarden can reach millions of views, and the movie reaches theaters, I still think this masterpiece is extremely underrated. This should have competed with “A Silent Voice” in the Oscars, which both would have beaten Boss Baby by miles.
The anime is quite sad but also really heart warming, EP 10 actually made me cry ( the EPs before I can hold my tear). Thank you for show me this anime.

ok, VIOLET EVERGARDEN, it's a masterpiece of sure, from the art to the plot, that's what you call as perfection. With a plot twist in the movie, it's a sad and relaxing anime with a happy and unexpected ending. I would recommend watching it, so go watch it if you haven't. I would rate it an 8.6/10
I genuinely pity those who haven’t had the chance to experience how wonderful Violet Evergarden is, the anime was practically therapy for me with how much it let me release all of my pent up emotions.
Even though videos about Violet Evergarden can reach millions of views, and the movie reaches theaters, I still think this masterpiece is extremely underrated. This should have competed with “A Silent Voice” in the Oscars, which both would have beaten Boss Baby by miles.
The anime is quite sad but also really heart warming, EP 10 actually made me cry ( the EPs before I can hold my tear). Thank you for show me this anime.

Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece in animation, sound design and storytelling. If you’ve watched and liked it, i highly recommend watching more KyoAni works such as A Silent Voice, Chuniibyo and K-On. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Just keep those tissues close by.
