when i was a kid growing up my mom was my hero i also remember when i first heard this song i was 14yrs old back in 1982 i had nooo idea what death meant never really thought about it really. well on august 14 2014 i found out what death was my mom died omg you guys we were devastated !!! beyond words just so sad and heart broken i went right back to being that 14yr old kid on that day. so as i drove home , guess what song came on the radio yep this one! i said yep momma i miss you to!.
Thank you for this post.I'm curious why The Detroit Jazz Festival will not share the Live Streams for those that missed out & for those of us that might want to relive these gems?! Is it about recording? I feel like I let people down this year by not attending( too hot on Saturday/ rain the other 2 days) by not attending and recording.Sure..we are not suppose to record..but we do..KNOWING how important these precious meetings of minds are to fans of Jazz..esp in other Countries.I feel BY SHARING we strengthen the fan base,Community & Artists....stretching MUCH FARTHER than the 4 Festival Days.I hope the Detroit Jazz Organization someday decides to share these Live performances.
