I saw these guys play in the Denver Colleseum in 1973 and they nailed this song. The thing that hit me was how strong their vocals were. The voices were up front in the mix not buried behind the guitars and drums. Miss the 70's so bad....I can hear my son saying "OK BOOMER"!!!!!!!!!!
Uriah Heep was an interesting “2nd tier” 70’s rock band, but let’s not get carried away and compare them to the 1st tier. Uriah Heep was in that league with UFO, Trapeze, Budgie, Foghat etc. All good bands, just not Zeppelin and Purple.
Brilliant, i was in the RAF back in the 70's with short hair and loved this whole album, just today had a flash back and loved hearing this again, tks.
When I first read "RAF" I was immediately thinking about the "Rote Armee Fraktion" (Red Army Faction - an anti-capitalist terror organisation operating in Germany from the 70s until 1998). Took me a while to realize that you probably meant "Royal AirForce" instead, lol.
I always thought that as good as the album version is, this song really came alive on the Live in 73 album. Awesome stuff! Still have the original Demons and Wizards album from 1972
David Byron is my favorite vocalist and I rank him in the top 5 Rock vocals of all time, along with Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, Ronnie James Dio and Glenn Hughes
@@grimmsleeper9475 Of course. Everyone has their own few rock singers who they think deserve a place in the top 5 of all time. My choice is this, and yours is probably different. Dickinson is an exceptional singer.
@@steveharris4695 Deep Purple is my first hard rock love and I love all four lineups very much. Ian Gillan has a recognizable and good voice, but he often puts his finger in his ear at high pitches so that he can hear himself. It is characteristic of people who do not have good hearing. He mostly struggles while singing and that's the reason why he's not in my top 5. But he's definitely in my top 10. This is an opinion of course
My dad inducted me into the cult of this band. I recorded 3 90 minute cassettes off of all their albums which are the only cassette tapes I possess in my....... automobile. 10 comments? People must be lost in this day of age. Well, cheers to the cult.
That’s a cool story. I still have like a dozen cassettes in my collection. Long ago there were hundreds of them. Uriah Heep is still around but it’s their older stuff like this I really love. Cheers, mate.
@@ANationalAcrobat I’ve been a UH fan since the sixties. In the seventies though nineties I lived in Europe. I’m a GI on Her Majesty’s Service. To say I’ve traveled is putting it mildly. Circle of Hands is special to me.
Oggi non è altro che il domani di ieri. Grazie di esserci nella mia vita oggi, di esserci stata ieri e so' che ci sarai anche domani. Per un uomo innamorato questo è importante. Tuo Maurizio 🌹
As good as Purple? Let’s not get carried away now. I mean Uriah Heep has a handful of cool songs, this being one of them. The difference is guitarist Mick Box just wasn’t remotely in the same league as Richie Blackmore.
I bought this album in the 70s, I'm in my 60s now, still one of my favorites! Totally awesome!
Lyrics so revealant today
"Today,is only yesterday's tomorrow" is my favorite line from the song.
