      Well! No question she’s amazing 😍but I modestly have to admit that besides the first 2, others with clouds are pretty hard to paint with an actual resemblance to real clouds for a beginner 😆

    Karen I'm 72 years old and I'm just starting water coloring I've been painting for years but never tried this genre before ,I thought it would be easy right since I already paint ,"Yeah Right " I've watched many tutorials on RUclips and even signed up for a class, but they weren't teaching me how I wanted to paint ,and abstract and loose is what I wanted a boy how you've taught me the things I needed to know, I absolutely love your work and its exactly my style, please continue on RUclips cause woman you are one of the greatest teachers I've ever had ,every time I finish a painting my daughter wants it ,I think that girl has her house papered in my work ,she said mama when you die I'll be rich ,cause I'm gonna sell all but one ...lol.

    Fantastic demo! Could I ask just one favour please? Could you please try to equalise the sound in your videos? Often, I have to turn up the volume to hear what you say and then there is a musical overlay that you have put on which is twice as loud and makes me unpopular with anyone nearby.. Its quite a marked difference in sound levels! Im not complaining about the music, as it really fits the mood, just the differing levels meaning I have to keep turning it down as quick as I can.

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  2 года назад

      Thanks Tony, you are right. I have since reduced the volume of the music, so that it is not so loud. Unfortunately I cannot do this on oler tutorials 😊

    Wow… i tried just the first two skies and they came out horrible!! I’m not exaggerating:( i used my Seawhite of Brighton sketchbook which I normally use for pen and wash, but for paintings that need to be worked wet on wet or various layers of painting it becomes really hard for me! I always use arches when I’m doing my portraits and such so I don’t know if I’m just not used to cheaper papers or if it is really harder to work on the type of paper of my sketchbook. What’s your opinion? Thx so much for another amazing tutorial!

    The 2nd sky, near the end of the video just @ the part that I wanted to learn how to do you cut to the end of the video. You say " remember not to let the blue touch the yellow paint" and then ........ you don't show us how to fill in that gap. Help pls.

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  Год назад

      You could fill in the gap with some light red paint 😊

    I struggle with how wet to make the paper. Is there a secret?

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  2 года назад +1

      Try to get a sheen on the paper no puddles. Tilt to get rid of puddles… use a large brush to wet the paper. Hope this was helpful? 😊

    Why do all these colors have such a wide variety of names its confusing?

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  2 года назад

      I know Melanie, it can be so confusing. I always stick to Ultramarine and call it blue to my students... Permanent Rose and call it pink. It makes it easier sometimes 😀

    I do not understand how sections aLook painted, then in next moment are blank. Are you painting 4-5 prepared sheets of paper? Why don't you work consecutively? It is impossible seeming to follow these small sky paintings to conclusion. I am film editor so understand how this may be edited but one sky is painted, then one next to it suddenly is not painted. I guess colour me stupid.

      Hi Nancy, to make my tutorial a little clearer...This tutorial was all about painting skies. I painted a first stage on each of the 6 skies by 14 minutes into the video. Then sky 3, 5 & 6 I then painted a second stage which takes you to the end of the video. In my summary I explain if you want to know how I painted each landscape to go with these 6 skies, it is available on my Patreon membership: www.patreon.com/karenriceart Hope this was helpful.
