Love your technique on the sky, the simplistic composition & your pallet is perfect with only 6 colors, keeping it simple . Thank you for sharing. Carmela, watercolorist.
I am an art teacher and truly appreciate how well you describe your technique while you are painting. Such a pleasure to watch. I mean this in the highest regard....you are the Bob Ross of watercolor and make this wonderful medium accessible to all.
This is downright amazing. What looks like completely random or careless brushstrokes ends up looking like a landscape you could recognize from memory. Super inspiring. Thanks so much.
I was so happy to know someone else thinks the brushing of the colors on the paper is "delicious!" I also think of it as "luscious" sometimes. Always makes me happy.
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial Karen! It is truly a blessing for those of us who are newer to watercolor to have such wonderful teaching, for FREE! Thanks for sharing your gift, I learn a lot from you!
Thank you so much for this! I haven’t painted for years and recently wanted to get back into it. So, I have attempted to paint this on a card for my husbands 40th which is on Tuesday. I’m actually quite proud of the result and also really enjoyed it. Thank you so much, I think you might have got the enthusiasm inside me burning again!
Karen, that was absolutely inspiring, I've been away from watercolor for so long I've forgotten everything I ever learned, you make me feel like just jumping in there and enjoying any happy accidents that will probably happen. Thank you so much, that was inspiring, Natalie
Thank you Karen. You kept it straightforward and have taken some of the mystery away from watercolour while keeping it fun. I subscribed straight away.
Thank you.
My daughter always paint landscapes, she has a lot of passion in painting, but she doesn't know the techniques to paint with watercolors and she paints with acrylic but she discovered your channel and your paintings are awesome! She is so impressed with you and she is learning your techniques and painting them :D
Go for it! It was really lovely painting it 😊 For more exclusive and in-depth tutorials why not think about joining my Patreon membership. www.patreon.com/karenriceart
This is one of my absolute favorite paintings you have posted. It beautifully captures what's so wonderful about watercolor landscape painting. I'd love to see more of these sparse landscapes!!
I love your painting! There's something about wetlands, and that's what this painting reminds me of. Huge mountains are majestic for sure, but the peaceful nature of the 'quieter' spots are my fav. Lovely painting and thank you for sharing how to try to accomplish it. 😊
I love how you made beautiful "mistakes" and even capitalized on them. I aspire to be this comfortable when doing water color. I love your elegance, yes that was elegant
