- Learn how to use the knife tool to quickly cut pattern lines. I will apply this to slash and spread for a flutter sleeve and simple dart manipulation on a bodice.
Sorry for the slight lag on my computer and the arrow for the mouse is not in the correct position. Watch for the highlights to see where I am actually pointing.
I am working on getting written tutorials up as well on ProjectorSewing.com
But, enjoy these for now!
Love your videos
What a fantastic, concise video! Looking forward to more of your videos. For other viewers, if you use the shift+alt keys while drawing the line, it will be a straight line at any angle.
Awesome! Now we’re talking!! Thx! Grabbing up all you on these topics!

You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Brilliant video. why are you duplicaing layers ? I'm using Affinty for my drafting but after a year i'm realising I need to clean up my processes.
Good question! In the case of the sleeve I duplicate because the bottom (blue) layer will be the final pattern piece. I use the yellow layer to make the shape, then it can be discarded after the blue layer matches the shape. Since I cut the yellow layer up, it’s still in individual pieces. Does that make sense?
Hiya, Sorry another question. How are you adding seam allowance when your digitally drafting? I'm making these ridiculous 1cm boxes but it takes so long. Wondered if you had an easier way. Its the only thing that makes me want to go back to flat paper draft
Yes, there is much easier way! I use the contour tool to add seam allowance. It is the same for V2 and V1. Make sure to "bake the appearance" so you can edit the lines with nodes after adding seam allowance.
