Great tutorial. Thanks! After pattern Tetris is complete, how do you save and rename your file?

Go back to the Home Screen. Next to the file you are working on, click the 3 line “hamburger menu”. You’ll have a save and save as option.

Is affinity more user-friendly than Inkscape for us older, struggle with technology folks? Can’t get the hang of Inkscape at all.

I find some things more intuitive, but there is definitely still a learning curve. There is a free trial period, if you wanted to check it out.

Can I do this with Procreate? I have procreate on my iPad, but when I tried to open a pattern I couldn’t access the layers… maybe I opened it wrong?

Now, I’m not a Procreate pro, but I’d say Procreate really isn’t made for working with vectors (including PDF pattern lines). Rather it works with raster images (png, jpeg, tiff, etc). Again, there may be a way to do it, but I’m not sure because I don’t work much with Procreate.
If you want to give Affinity Designer a try, it’s around $20 and works well with vectors and raster images.

I think I might need to get affinity designer then. procreate identifies as a vector drawing program, and i work with layers when creating my own stuff, but I've never opened a file in procreate that had accesible layers. I'm really interested in learning how to hack and combine projector patterns from two different files. for example i have a pattern that has a nursing panel, that i would like to grade to use in another pattern i have. I'm having issues understanding how to keep the scale of both patterns correct, s i can mesh them together. I also use inkscape and know i can copy and paste pattern piecces in that program, so that pieces from two different files can be on the same page. DO you have a video on combining patterns/ hacking patterns?
