I’m excited. I saw your review this morning and went and picked up a pair literally this morning at GameStop. I’ve wanted another pair of hyper x clouds ever since I had the cloud 2 wired from ps4 days. The cloud 2 usb dac however just didn’t work well sound wise with the ps5. Now that this is strictly 3.5, I can use it in various applications and consoles and even eq it through my nova pro wired dac amp. But as you’ve already said before, get used to the core sound first before making any modifications, so that’s what I’m going to do, get comfortable with core stock sound first. Looking forward to testing them out tonight!

Definitely the most comfortable clamping force and headband. The most comfortable earcups go to the newest xbox headset. The best sound quality has to go the corsair HS60. If I could combine the good factors in those three headsets, I'd finally find the perfect headset 😂 Edit: the audio quality on this headset is still pretty damn good

I just picked these up on Amazon. I noticed right out of the box that it doesn’t have the white stitching on the top of the headset like in different videos about this cloud x model, also it seemed very flimsy to the touch but does feel like it is durable somehow lol. The box you have on the table is the same box i received which is a different box from other reviewed videos. Also when I opened the box it didn’t come with any plug for where the mic goes thinking they don’t provide it anymore or just simply forgot to attach it when packaging. Anyway nice video just thought I had a fake HyperCard cloud x. But if anyone else noticed this and know more about it please let me know. Thank you

The microphone and speaker quality in general depend on the preamp. These headphones have a very neutral sound with no EQ "enhancements". Otherwise, integrated EQ and compressor would cause issues with both the 3D sounds (stereo delay/illusion) and also it simply wouldn't sound as accurate considering they likely use reference monitors when developing the sounds for games. These actually sounds just as balanced as my trusty old HD280's that i use in my music studio so they did their homework.

It's an analog headset so unfortunately it won't have any options for that. Mic monitoring would be enabled/controlled on your console/PC side if what you're playing on supports it. This would be the same with any headset that uses a headphone jack.
I read that if you hold down the mute button, it will beep enabling mic monitoring. I know your comment was 7 months ago but thought I would chime in lol

Check your inline mic switch to make sure you aren’t muted and the mic is fully pressed in on the headset. Make sure the cable going into the controller is fully inserted as well. If you can, try plugging this in to something else to see if it works there too.
I had these, loved them, paid £80 last year but the mic went bad, team mates used to say my headset was buzzing but I couldn't hear anything my side. Returned them, went to tb 700 wasn't happy, then went to Xbox wireless headset,but that's muddy sounding and the chat wheel stopped working so I need new headset, I see Curry's have the cloudx for £40 right now .... There's a small switch on the inline cord that turns the mic on and off. Check that out in case. Otherwise make sure you have a solid connection and aren't muted on the Xbox side.
I have a problem where I brought a brand new headset and it had a buzz in the left ear when i tried it on the series x controller but when I tried it with a old Xbox controller it sounded perfectly fine. This was the steel series arctis 3 headset

You need a sound card that has a combo port (mic and headphone in a single plug). Otherwise, you need an adapter that splits out the audio into two separate plugs for headphone and mic. Yes they work fine on the Elite controller. Controllers don't get headsets as loud as amplified versions but it will still sound good.

Cloud II is the same but comes with a USB adapter for PC.

You need a splitter for audio and mic, that's all you need.
