Well, she has some pretty awesome duets with Russell Allen as well, including Phantom of the Opera and Sweet Curse - but I agree with you. Henk is a phenomenal singer - and the perfect match for Floor. Those two super singer are playing and having the time of their life in their duets. Floor being the sweet innocent girly, and Henk being the badass (just to make fun of people prejudices)
Henk Port is the original dutch Phantom of the Opera. Many many years. And he is also Floor's great role model. A dream has come true for her here to sing together with her idol. Henk continues to perform with Floor in her solo concerts. And Floor, well, Floor can do everything as you know.
Morning! Good to see you and know that you know that we are seeing you. I have heard that Henk Poort is one of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s favorite Phantoms, if not very favorite. I think he has been doing it many, many years.
Henk Poort wanted to do this in metal style since Floor is metal singer. He also asked Floor if he can sing this with her and Nightwish when they have concert in Amsterdam, but that concert hasn't been yet, hopefully this fall it will. Can't wait for it.
I am probably the same age as you all, and that is, by far, the best duet I have ever heard. I must have seen it 50 times by now and it still gives me chills...
Henk learned how to do distortion (which is a real no-no in the opera world) specifically for Floor, when he did "Sound of Silence" (Disturbed's version) for her. He then used it again in this song without telling Floor he was going to. Hence the look of surprise on everyone's face, including Floor's.
Of course they planned distortion part together with Floor. Floor even briefed Emma so she also knows to expect it. You can see how Floor grins and flashes "horn gesture" for Emma so she knows that now it starts. After that you see how Floor nods to Henk who also nods back, before starting sing with the distortion.

@@arnaldotanta3630 I honestly don't think Floor knew he was going to do it. They could have rehearsed it without Henk doing the distortion and then he pulled it out for the actual performance. He may have known he was going to but not let anyone else know. That's the way I see it, anyway.

@@johnlindquist1784 to see if I understand : Henk had never used distortion, and it was the week of duets in which the pairs had the whole week of rehearsals and henk managed to get at least 10 hours during the week to rehearse alone with the band without Floor (when Floor was his partner ) doesn't seem logical because with or without distortion they have to adapt the timbres to each other, if you rehearse a duet without distortion and you'll change it on the day of the program that almost certainly sucks.

There are images of Henk wearing the mask, as (as you may know) Henk performed the role of the Phantom for years in the Dutch production of The Phantom of the Opera. He _knows_ the part very well indeed, so acting it out was quite natural for him. I love how Floor was also acting out, both in her movements (the glance over the shoulder, the well-timed movements with her head) as well as with her voice (especially the "back" in "Those who have seen your face, draw _back_ in fear".) Perfect.

Beste Zangers 2019 was an amazing series. It was a introduction of Floor to many people who had never listened to any form of Metal, and many metalheads were exposed to other genres that they would have probably scrolled by in the past. So many impressive performances by every singer on the program. And the band....so damn good. Floors solo concerts were stacked with many members of them as well!!

Great Reaction! Floor never ceases to amaze. Floor has also done a TV Show similar to this one in Germany called Sing Meinen Song 2022. I don't think there is any videos released from the the show yet, but there is a You Tuber who has put together a medley of alot of the songs she sang on the show and it is nothing short of INCREDIBLE! I have never seen Floor moving around so much while she sings and on this show she goes right up to the couches and interacts with the others while she is singing. It's 6 minutes long and the title of it is "Floor Jansen's Best Collection (All Episodes) Sing Meinen Song 2022." As far as I know, nobody has reacted to it yet..........you two could be the first!
Andrew Lloyd Weber said that Henk was his favorite Phantom. Now you need to watch him sing The Sound of Silence to Floor on this same program. Amazing.
Henk was a hero to Floor as a little girl, she heard him perform as the Phantom on several stage performances. Henk is well known for stage performances in the Netherlands where they are all at. He had no idea who Floor was or how good she was until she let them know she wanted to perform this with him on the show. Then he checked her out on RUclips performances and saw her with Nightwish. This blew Floor up in the Netherlands, this performance and show. They finally understood what a national treasure she is, and the only one on the show that had a clue about how good she was vocally was Tim Akkerman, the curly headed guy. All the rest of these people were bigger stars and more well known in Floor's home country the Netherlands, even though she was a world wide star and many more albums sold. Henk said recently, "What she (Floor) can do with her voice is unbelievable.......unbelievable!
Floor just killed it at the Beste Zanger show in 2019. Every performance was amazing. Only Tim Akkerman had heard of her so when she started the season singing Vilja Lied in German for Henk, everyone was blown away.
Great reaction Skuppetmasters! Glad the ppl @AVROTROS cleared the video. The chemistry between Floor and Henk is a treat in itself, isn't it? It developed during that wonderful show in 2019. When Beste Zangers started, no one had heard of Floor except for Tim Akkerman. So Henk didn't know Floor and he was also unaware of just how much a fan she was of his work. Floor's love for performing on stage really took hold when she played in a musical at school, as she told in a lovely broadcast for Dutch tv "Floor Jansen in Dutch show Reunion (Tampere 2015)". She captured his heart from the get go when in the 1st episode she did "Vilja Lied", a song Henk's mother used to sing to him. What you see with this epic rendition, is two people sharing their love of music and their genuine appreciation of each other. This went so far that Henk learned how to put some extra fry to his vocals for Floor, something that's not done for someone with his background in classical singing. So hope to see our "Uncle Henk" with Nightwish in Amsterdam, Nov27th. They will blow the roof of the Ziggo Dome sky high. Cheers from Amsterdam!

Since the moment i knew Floor would be in this show where musicians are singing for and to eachother i had to know what this show was. But it was amazing and the first time i saw these 2 together (individual they where amazing a lot of the time i was almost crying) but this, this brought me tears. Now Floor has her solo tour, and this program also helped a lot. She was and is the Queen of Metal/Prog, but now she is the all time Queen.
Floor is the perfect Christine ( ok, a little bit taller than the Phantom 😅😅) And Henk, he sings The Phantom over decades. They do it at Floors solo shows. And one tip. They do it, at Henks tour. There Floor sings the Vilja Lied too.

I can never watch this performance without my eyes tearing up. Floor stands in one place but her voice and tiny movements are just soo expressive I feel like I have watched the real show.

So glad that AVROTROS gave the clear. It was Andrew Lloyd Webber himself that defined Henk Poort as the ultimate Phantom vocal he had in mind, to bring this whole stage production to life. Of course the rest of the world had substitute versions of Henk Poort to fill the position. It's an incredible compliment coming from the writer himself, which is why Henk is so good at it. If you love his voice I highly recommend watching Henk's version of The Sound Of silence, that he sang directly to Floor because it is her dads favorite song. I was just waiting for your reaction on Henk's vocal fry and it was priceless 🤣 it literally made me laugh, I said it on a previous video, the combination of Floor and him is pure fire, and their chemistry is right there, it's very different from Tarja and Marko, but this version for some reason left me speechless, my brain had a hard time processing it, then the goosebumps and tears came out at full force
Henk and Floor did 15 shows together ( 14 Floor s solo shows and 1 Henk solo show) in the Netherlands and everything was solt out in 2 days. I saw 3 off the shows and it was fantastic.
Henk was the first Phantom un the Dutch production of Andrew Llloyd Webbers Phantom of the Opera... somewhere in the 80s... and he played many characters in Musical Theatre many years. I knew him already before I was intruduced to Nightwish and Floor ^^ (as I was/am a huge musical theatre fan) I have a DVD from the Dutch Musical of the 3 Musketeers, where he played Athos

This is a tv program in which dutch singers are going on a kind of holiday and than every evening 1 will be prominent and all other singers each will sing a song which means alot for the prominent ..the others are blown away for most of them will be singing out of their comfort zone amazing program
There are this duet - and then all the others... And Henk is the European Phantom, and Andrew Lloyd Webber's favorite - and has done it more than 600 times I believe. And he loves doing duets with Floor - he recognizes and appreciates talent like Floor's - it only appears a few times in each century.

"Who cares. Fuck 'em." I'm liking this channel already. For me it's not just that she nails that last note. In the preceding passage Floor's delivery suggests she's right on the very edge. But then on that final note, the feeling of it being precarious just vanishes. Totally stable, with even more power. She holds it to the very last beat, and brings in that vibrato beautifully. What more could you possibly ask for?
Just subscribed, Floor was the 1st singer in the 1st episode and sang "Vilja Lied" to Henk Poort. As I understand it, none of the other singers had ever heard her sing and I love their reaction. BTW Beste Zanger is a great series,

Henk Poort was the original dutch phantom of the opera . Floor was is actualy fan girling when he sings. and one of the reasons she apeared on the show becouse of henk .
And so started a lifelong friendship and collaboration between Floor and Henk. This was the last performance of that particular Season and what a way to end. In the aftermath of this I was so happy Floor finally received the recognition that her talent deserved. As for your sweet spot for Tommy SueSue. I agree he is a lovely boy and very gifted.- But I’m a little worried about his health for somebody so young He looks like he could benefit from me taking him out for a few distance runs. to me, she drew something out of him, maybe he didnt even expect, altough he might have planned something, and thats the best, artists drawing something out of eachother they didnt know was there possibly. suprising themselves and the audience, leaving a once in a lifetime performance.
I agree, they make each other perform even better. Henk did surprise Floor here, using distortion. He didn't use it when they practiced that afternoon, he told in an interview. At the Pinkpop performance , 17th of June, Henk actually growles ! Floor looks so proud at him, when he does that... He also grew a beard, looking more metal 😀

in the show beste zangers, they called henk poort ''Uncle Henk'' because he is like the sweet funny uncle at parties. and he is way older then all of the other people there. but when he started singing, he always sounds so professional and serious. Its amazing because the moment he stops singing he laughs at the people on the couches and he starts cracking jokes again.
The atmosphere was kind of special during this take. There was a storm going on (you can hear the thunder at the beginning of the song, that was real) and the tent they were in, was leaking, they were afraid that the roof would come down. Then there was of course the golden voice of Henk, with a distortion he had never done before in all his life and of course, Floor in all her might. One of the other artists, Samantha Steenwijk, said she had never heard anything like it. She said: this one is going to stay with me until I die.
There is not an average performance by Floor on Beste Zangers. Her singing Vilja Lied to Henk on show one is amazing and I know you've seen that but there are other equally excellent songs.

Floor was inspired by Henk when she was a youngster (he was an ALW favourite for the part of the Phantom, he knows the part very well, I'm sure he has a few spare masks), that's real fangirling you could see :) The Beste Zangers show format is super too, vehemently well worth watching the whole show (for the info and comments between each song) and the rest of the 2019 series! Oh, and other years too... 2021 the super nice Anneke, my introduction to Karsu, wow! Several Dutch singers from different genres are invited for a holiday in Ibiza, they get to know each other with picnics and walks on the beach during the day. They will be practicing a relevant song for each days centre of attention. It's not a competition, but they really inspire each other, and have a lot of fun. The duets I think was the last of the series. The crash of thunder at the beginning wasn’t a sound effect, they were in the middle of a storm, with water leaking through the roof, you can see it dripping to the left of Floor on the close-ups, and in the pool behind. The crew must have been a bit alarmed, but they kept going. I like to think of being on those sofas with the other singers, what a lovely idea and so intimate, being just a few feet away from the performers. Floor chose this band for her solo concerts recently, where she also invited Henk to join her. Beste Zangers Eurovision introduction, Floor did "Euphoria"... from henceforth to be known as EuFlooria! Your native Skunkington. You might try a big towel on your desktop to soften the crashes and bangs... :)

Andrew Lloyd Weber said that Henk was his favorite Phantom. Now you need to watch him sing The Sound of Silence to Floor on this same program. Amazing.
Henk was a hero to Floor as a little girl, she heard him perform as the Phantom on several stage performances. Henk is well known for stage performances in the Netherlands where they are all at. He had no idea who Floor was or how good she was until she let them know she wanted to perform this with him on the show. Then he checked her out on RUclips performances and saw her with Nightwish. This blew Floor up in the Netherlands, this performance and show. They finally understood what a national treasure she is, and the only one on the show that had a clue about how good she was vocally was Tim Akkerman, the curly headed guy. All the rest of these people were bigger stars and more well known in Floor's home country the Netherlands, even though she was a world wide star and many more albums sold. Henk said recently, "What she (Floor) can do with her voice is unbelievable.......unbelievable!

Floor just killed it at the Beste Zanger show in 2019. Every performance was amazing. Only Tim Akkerman had heard of her so when she started the season singing Vilja Lied in German for Henk, everyone was blown away.

The chemistry between Floor and Henk is a treat in itself, isn't it? It developed during that wonderful show in 2019. When Beste Zangers started, no one had heard of Floor except for Tim Akkerman. So Henk didn't know Floor and he was also unaware of just how much a fan she was of his work. Floor's love for performing on stage really took hold when she played in a musical at school, as she told in a lovely broadcast for Dutch tv "Floor Jansen in Dutch show Reunion (Tampere 2015)".
She captured his heart from the get go when in the 1st episode she did "Vilja Lied", a song Henk's mother used to sing to him. What you see with this epic rendition, is two people sharing their love of music and their genuine appreciation of each other. This went so far that Henk learned how to put some extra fry to his vocals for Floor, something that's not done for someone with his background in classical singing.
So hope to see our "Uncle Henk" with Nightwish in Amsterdam, Nov27th. They will blow the roof of the Ziggo Dome sky high. Cheers from Amsterdam!

Since the moment i knew Floor would be in this show where musicians are singing for and to eachother i had to know what this show was. But it was amazing and the first time i saw these 2 together (individual they where amazing a lot of the time i was almost crying) but this, this brought me tears. Now Floor has her solo tour, and this program also helped a lot. She was and is the Queen of Metal/Prog, but now she is the all time Queen.
Floor is the perfect Christine ( ok, a little bit taller than the Phantom 😅😅) And Henk, he sings The Phantom over decades. They do it at Floors solo shows. And one tip. They do it, at Henks tour. There Floor sings the Vilja Lied too.

So glad that AVROTROS gave the clear. It was Andrew Lloyd Webber himself that defined Henk Poort as the ultimate Phantom vocal he had in mind, to bring this whole stage production to life. Of course the rest of the world had substitute versions of Henk Poort to fill the position. It's an incredible compliment coming from the writer himself, which is why Henk is so good at it. If you love his voice I highly recommend watching Henk's version of The Sound Of silence, that he sang directly to Floor because it is her dads favorite song. I personally believe Henk sings it far and beyond better than the Disturbed version. I loved your reaction and knew you'd be blown away. Love from Canada.

I was just waiting for your reaction on Henk's vocal fry and it was priceless 🤣 it literally made me laugh, I said it on a previous video, the combination of Floor and him is pure fire, and their chemistry is right there, it's very different from Tarja and Marko, but this version for some reason left me speechless, my brain had a hard time processing it, then the goosebumps and tears came out at full force

Henk and Floor did 15 shows together ( 14 Floor s solo shows and 1 Henk solo show) in the Netherlands and everything was solt out in 2 days. I saw 3 off the shows and it was fantastic.
Henk was the first Phantom un the Dutch production of Andrew Llloyd Webbers Phantom of the Opera... somewhere in the 80s... and he played many characters in Musical Theatre many years. I knew him already before I was intruduced to Nightwish and Floor ^^ (as I was/am a huge musical theatre fan) I have a DVD from the Dutch Musical of the 3 Musketeers, where he played Athos
When people don't know Henk was The Phantom for years...they can appreciate it even more knowing Floor idolized Henk and what a treat this is for her to perform with him.

He's the best singer currently from this country and the program and friendship that developed between Henk and Floor widened his audience and his performance. For me it's not just that she nails that last note. In the preceding passage Floor's delivery suggests she's right on the very edge. But then on that final note, the feeling of it being precarious just vanishes. Totally stable, with even more power. She holds it to the very last beat, and brings in that vibrato beautifully. What more could you possibly ask for?

Just subscribed, Floor was the 1st singer in the 1st episode and sang "Vilja Lied" to Henk Poort. As I understand it, none of the other singers had ever heard her sing and I love their reaction. BTW Beste Zanger is a great series,

Henk Poort was the original dutch phantom of the opera . Floor was is actualy fan girling when he sings. and one of the reasons she apeared on the show becouse of henk .
And so started a lifelong friendship and collaboration between Floor and Henk. This was the last performance of that particular Season and what a way to end. In the aftermath of this I was so happy Floor finally received the recognition that her talent deserved.
As for your sweet spot for Tommy SueSue. I agree he is a lovely boy and very gifted.- But I’m a little worried about his health for somebody so young He looks like he could benefit from me taking him out for a few distance runs.

So.....Henk Poort is a Dutch singer born in 1956. Poort's major roles include Erik (the Phantom) in the Dutch version of The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in the first staging of the Dutch version of Les Misérables in the late 1990s. He also sang as one of the "17 Valjeans" at Les Misérables: The Dream Cast in Concert.
He is A Phantom !!! And Floor's idol , and a good friend after this show was done .
Tommy is good , Tarja is great , but Floor is The Best ( In my not so humble opinion 😛).

in the show beste zangers, they called henk poort ''Uncle Henk'' because he is like the sweet funny uncle at parties. and he is way older then all of the other people there. but when he started singing, he always sounds so professional and serious. Its amazing because the moment he stops singing he laughs at the people on the couches and he starts cracking jokes again.

The atmosphere was kind of special during this take. There was a storm going on (you can hear the thunder at the beginning of the song, that was real) and the tent they were in, was leaking, they were afraid that the roof would come down. Then there was of course the golden voice of Henk, with a distortion he had never done before in all his life and of course, Floor in all her might. One of the other artists, Samantha Steenwijk, said she had never heard anything like it. She said: this one is going to stay with me until I die.

There is not an average performance by Floor on Beste Zangers. Her singing Vilja Lied to Henk on show one is amazing and I know you've seen that but there are other equally excellent songs.

they get to know each other with picnics and walks on the beach during the day.
They will be practicing a relevant song for each days centre of attention.
It's not a competition, but they really inspire each other, and have a lot of fun.
The duets I think was the last of the series.
The crash of thunder at the beginning wasn’t a sound effect,
they were in the middle of a storm, with water leaking through the roof,
you can see it dripping to the left of Floor on the close-ups, and in the pool behind.
The crew must have been a bit alarmed, but they kept going.
I like to think of being on those sofas with the other singers,
what a lovely idea and so intimate, being just a few feet away from the performers.
Floor chose this band for her solo concerts recently, where she also invited Henk to join her.
