Floor has done a concert recently in Amsterdam and sung songs from her whole career. She is currently posting all of them on her youtube channel one per week. Check them out, they are amazing.
Henk is a proper opera singer and that is how it is done. This was the first time Henk Poort ever used distortion on his voice. Floor was so happy and honored by his decision to attempt it on this performance. Loved it!

The Valkyrie queen of symphonic metal has done a TV show on dutch TV where she sang 6 solo's with and two duets with covers of song important to the other participants. This duet with Henk Poort being one of them. She also did several incredible pop and Disney covers from home during the pandemic. Al very different than from her metal performance at Wacken 2013 with Nigthwish She was of course 6 years older on this video and not dressed as a Valkyrie.

I've met people who have amazing skills that they don't use for let's just say their "job" you think wow they would be great mechanics, carpenters, etc. I think man their talents are wasted..And then there are people who are absolutely doing what they have been put on earth to do! You can sing ? awesome ! Henk Poort the male singer began his carreer as a fully trained Bariton Opera singer, don't worry. He was 62 or 63 there and now 65 and and performes with Floor still when she does her solo Show (here in The Netherlands).
Great reaction! Don't listen to all of the haters here. Also, the reason Henk put rasp in his voice on his second verse was for Floor. He knew they use that in Metal and did it for her. You should check out her first song on this show, Vilja Lied. It is an Opera song that Henks mother sang to him when he was a boy. She rocked it up a bit and sang it in it's original German language. If you do more of the songs from this show try to find the ones where it includes the talking, where they show them sitting around the couches before the singer gets up to sing (and after). I know Jenniezelf has some on her channel. Just look for the ones that say English Subtitles in the title because when they talk on this show it is in Dutch. It really adds alot to the video.
You should also check out Nightwish's version with Tarja in her yellow coat. I heard the other day that Henk was pitch corrected on this clip. Floor wasn't. Obviously.

It's classified as NYC Hardcore or just thrash metal. If you react to this one you'll find a whole LOT to react to.. You will see a 300lb man do something he shouldn't be doing! It's "flippin" awesome! And if you watch closer as he's getting back onto the stage you'll hear and see what he does along the way while he's bulldogging it. The reason I know this happened is because I was there and witnessed it 1st hand.. And they let the crowd know it was being video taped at the time so.. If you want obscure and awesome this is it!

I was honestly, blown away by it. I just love how singers go into exploration of their voice and what it can and can't do. It's admirable.
Second time Henk was distorting his voice. The first time was when he sang the Disturbed cover version of "Sound of Silence" in an earlier episode.
He even played the phantom in the Netherlands. Andrew Lloyd Webber even called him the best phantom ever

Apparently there was some post production pitch correction for the tv audience, I don’t think it was used for Floor, because she’s pretty spot on.

If you want something completely different and likely has 0 people who have done a reaction video on. I highly suggest doing : live at budokan March Of The S.O.D.- Sargent ''D'' & The S.O.D. It's classified as NYC Hardcore or just thrash metal. If you react to this one you'll find a whole LOT to react to.. You will see a 300lb man do something he shouldn't be doing! It's "flippin" awesome! And if you watch closer as he's getting back onto the stage you'll hear and see what he does along the way while he's bulldogging it. The reason I know this happened is because I was there and witnessed it 1st hand.. And they let the crowd know it was being video taped at the time so.. If you want obscure and awesome this is it!

I agree about Hank's vibrato that in my opinion is a bit unnecessarily forced. He has amazing tone though.
I only really felt it when he first started singing but then it seemed to open up and relax ☺ By the end I didn't even notice anymore tbf because they just sounded so amazing together!

I don't like wide vibrato, and I don't like modified vowels. That pretty well keeps me out of opera houses.

Lol.... a you tuber criticizing the most famous Dutch classical singer, who actually played the phantom for 10 years, for his vibrato.
I only ever give my honest thoughts and feelings in the moment, unfortunately they will not always please everyone as we all have different tastes. By the end of the video though I grew to enjoy and appreciate his voice with Floor's 💜
