I had a similar noise on my 5th gen 4Runner, but only when turning. It was the lower control arm bushings that were worn out. As it turns out, it's cheaper labor wise to replace the entire control arms than to simply replace the bushings (if you have a shop do it for you).
The noise sounds like lower control arm bushes binding. Especially if they are poly eurathane bushes. Also the camber bolts can seize in the bushes from rust.
I have the same creak on my GX470. Turns out the lower ball joints have no boots anymore. Replacing LCA's this weekend. Also check LCA bushings. Sounds like dry metal on metal. And Caroline with both braces and glasses! No self-consciousness there, I bet. 😉
Regarding the noise, this may be odd but add a degree or so of additional tightening to the hood bolts. They'll probably already feel tight, like really tight, but give them just a little extra. I've had a similar reoccurring noise in my 4Runner and the Toyota tech told me to give it a shot and it actually worked. Did it at 30k miles and just again now at 130k miles. Good luck!
I never get tired of your videos. Retirement is a couple of years down the road and your channel is what inspired me to go and hit the road. Just spent a week doing the Georgia Traverse. Greetings from Florida.
That sound is most likely coming from your KDSS hard bracket on the passenger side! It’s common for those to rattle loose. I need to check mine again matter of fact ha
Wow! Great story telling. Great videography. Great editing. Great music. On another note; I think the noise may be a loose diode on the flux capacitor.
The sound, sounds like plastic not metal. I was having a similar sound, couldn't hear it inside the cab with the windows rolled up but you could hear it outside. It ended up being the plastic dust covers on the front struts.
This is one of my favorite spots in Utah. You're making me really consider diving deeper into this area instead of going somewhere new for my next trip. Another beautiful and inspiring video!
The most epic location I tried to camp was Muley Point, west of Moki Dugway. The winds were so bad, and we were completely exposed, we retreated down to Goosenecks SP. Also a killer location, but it wasn't views like on top.
See those wild peak tires, what is the best tire you have used? I’m running Cooper st maxx, but they have the steering wheel wobble in my 22 year model TRD off-road 4runner..
Im always afraid to name certain geo features having seen pristine areas hammered in Calif. However, your thoughts on a a certain mesa east of Hurricane near a fruit valley?
Appreciate you and your family making the campsite cleaner. It is unfortunate that people dont take responsibility for cleaning up their own campsites.
Sway bar link/bushings. Maybe a dry ball joint.

It is a joy to watch your family grow and travel.
Congratulations! Abigail is so precious! Caroline will made a great big sister and show her the ropes of Overlanding!
Cleaning the trail.. you guys are legendary...
Your new baby is very cute sir.. God bless the BABY..
Frying eggs in bacon grease reminds me of my grandparents. Thanks for helping me dredge up those wonderful memories.
That first song with the drone footage. I can picture myself listening to this song live at the Sagebrush Inn Taos. Great song.

Reminds me of my one and only boating trip to Lake Powell. Wind can ruin your trip really quick.
It certainly can!
You're a lucky man to have your wife come out with a 5month baby out that's awesome
Lower shock press fittings in your front coil overs. Mine are doing the same; time for a servicing.
Check to see if your sway bar is coming into contact with the radiator mounting bracket. That’s likely the source of the sound

Excellent story telling and video.
Really dig all the Drew Holcomb songs. He and Ellie make great music. 👍
Great to see the whole family out on an adventure again... such an inspiration!
谢谢!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you
You guys are the best! No excuses when a baby comes into the picture! Love it! 👊🏻
Let's go! 🤠🙏
Also, make sure your LCA cam bolts are tightened real good... especially if you had it aligned recently. They don't always tighten them enough.
Just love you're Videos! One negative thing, there are not enough of them! Amazing job can't wait for other ones! Thanks!!!
Thanks so much!
Kevin, That sounds like the front Ram Jack/Cylinder assembly on the KDSS. If that's the case. That is about 2.5K USD for that part alone.
that creaking noise is the ball joints @1:39
That sound is most likely coming from your KDSS hard bracket on the passenger side! It’s common for those to rattle loose. I need to check mine again matter of fact ha
Love the video as usually Kevin. Regarding the noise, sounds like a A arm bushing. Mine did something similar
Since you're not turning my best guess at that noise is somewhere in the sway bar links or tierods links
Love you alls videos! My wife and i are going to test drive a 2017 GS on Friday. Stay safe.
Sorry GX😂
Keep rolling ❤
From some of my experiences in the automotive sector, my guess without looking at it, would be ball joint or control arm bushings.
Y'all rock, and yes the wind stinks on ice. Bonus points if you're old enough to get the latter reference.
Wow! Great story telling. Great videography. Great editing. Great music.

Awesome video
80% confident sound is creaking swaybar endlink.

What an amazing family, to watch you all get out there and truly enjoy the outdoors is a blessing. thank you for the videos!
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
it makes me so happy to see the 4 of you now!
@1:34 Lower control arm bushing
those chunky baby's are the best :)

Thanks for another inspiring video!
Another wonderful adventure..... Thank you.

At 50 years old my knees are making a sound about like that
🤣 My 41 year old knees do that too sometimes.
Colorful kids 🧡 blessed parents
congratulations to you both, such a beautiful baby ❤like always safe travels 😊didn't know you had another baby, must have missed that video 👍🍺
Hardtop camper trailer. I think that should be next on the LSO shopping list!
AMIGO AMIGO… ❤❤❤ great adventure with your family. Going to Utah, hope to see you around.
I’m loving these videos. Keep it up
Holy crap those xpeditition campers are damn expensive
A arm bushings maybe sway bar bushings
Check the ball joints.
Man, kids energy levels 😂😂😂
Another great vid! Control arm bushing or bushings perhaps?
I believe the long torso petroglyphs are due to peyote.
❤❤❤
That sure looks like Wright Brand bacon.
Your creaking sound sounds like lower control arm bushings.
你的拍摄水平非常高!!❤🎉
I think the long torsos you refer to are depictions of shadows, I suspect shadow manipulation was possibly their form of entertainment.
Do you guys have any videos of the Shaefer trail in Utah?
See those wild peak tires, what is the best tire you have used? I’m running Cooper st maxx, but they have the steering wheel wobble in my 22 year model TRD off-road 4runner..
Ball joints👏👍🇵🇭
It sounds like sway bar links
Sound could be the UCAs
Loose upper ball joint, maybe the ball joint liner is worn out?
Another excellent adventure, and the girls are so cute. Take care and thank you for the ride😎😎⭐️⭐️🤩🤩
At 3:31 mins of the video shows a petroglyphs 11/16/1886. 101 years later I was born. 😅 ❤️
1m53 I lost my gopro in dead valley like this many people was passing and never found it
☺️💕
:D
I'd say that sound could be aftermarket ball joints squeaking. Are yours greaseable?
Im always afraid to name certain geo features having seen pristine areas hammered in Calif. However, your thoughts on a a certain mesa east of Hurricane near a fruit valley?
You know why bacon tastes so good?... because it's cooked in bacon grease! Great video!!!
What is the name of the songs and artists in this episode please? We always enjoy your choice of music 😊
Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors - Gratitude & Fly. 2 songs.
What's the name of the song and artist at the 11 minute mark ?
lug nut torque ?
what's the play list
Sounds like UCA.
Loose nuts, broken and rubbing plastic flares, something wrong in the front suspension.. I mean the list goes on. What is it?
how can i contact you guys?
I'd say ball joint or u joint
Привет из России)
CV joint
That sounds might be the upper control arm with wear and tear bushing maybe shot
