    I found Armored core to be absolutely amazing. And I'm not talking about the kick ass fast paced action or a somewhat good narrative or even the amazing boss fights. What I found to be absolutely impeccable is how you could change your equipment based on what it is you wish to fight. Encounters could easily go from unbeatable to downright child's play when you equip yourself with the right weapons and configuration.

      I just used big rocket launchers lol
      Every AC boss just got killed in like 2 barrages, my average boss fight time was like 20 seconds against AC enemies. Never had to change gear types, just kept upgrading to whatever the biggest, hardest rockets were.
      First or second tried every boss EXCEPT Snail in the second to last mission of one of the runs where he gets an upgraded shielded mech you fought earlier. That fight was SUUUUUUCH a difficulty jump. Went from beating every boss in seconds to getting beat like 50+ times. And the FINAL boss took me 6 tries but I loved the last last boss.
      My favorite thing by far was the changes to the campaign. Slight little changes snowball bigger and bigger.

    So happy to hear that Lies of P bosses were actually tough for regular Soulsborne players. That was basically my 1st one completed after starting and stopping Bloodborne after a few hours. Looking forward to going back and playing the other games. I didn't fight Nameless Puppet until my 2nd and 3rd playthroughs. Not sure if that makes him easier or not, but his 1st phase is fairly harmless after a while. 2nd phase though is bonkers. You can dodge the dash most of the time, but then those red blade spear attacks almost always connected, and the multi-hit strings you just had to try to parry at least half of them to survive and get a heal off.
    Even using Puppet String to get in close and up and above him for decent hit usually didn't work because of how fast he's moving and attacking.

    • @turbobuddah
      @turbobuddah 7 месяцев назад

      I only really struggled with the Nameless Puppet on NG++, it was tough on NG but took about 4 attempts, 1st phase I could no hit but the 2nd one is a beast, and I refused to switch from my puppet arm axe 😂

      Could get some nice charged attacks in, stagger, and then get a free charged attack in before doing a Fatal.
      Also, is it typical in Soulsborne games that they don't let you call in a Spectre against final boss? Game let you use one for every one else but Nameless Puppet.

    The IBIS fight made me feel like I had been just getting lucky the entire game. I could not fathom at how ineffective I was against it. When I beat it, it had like 1 percent HP left and needed one more hit of anything and I had like 80 percent and one heal left. Despite this, I used up my heal, survived with 10 percent and barely beat it. Easily hardest boss of the year for me.

    Annihilation was that hard in *survivor* difficulty ? Damn. Didn't realize that. I mean, I started on veteran and had a rather tough time, then later took him down in apocalypse difficulty, but by that point I had an OP build that could deal thousands of overcharge damage every few seconds, letting me just dodge for most of the fight.
    Great vid, as always.

    Spawn of Ogodo in Jedi Survivor was way harder. Sure, it took me like 20+ tries to beat Vader (and my game crashed before I could save so I had to beat him again), but I have done just as many attempts at the Spawn of Ogodo and never killed it.

    • @owensquelch449

      I did beat him on GM, took me more tries than I care to admit. But that’s still not the hardest boss fight. there is a duel boss of both the Spawn of Oggdo and Oggdo Bogdo from the original game. This one was significantly easier though, not because I got better, just because I went “fuck this” turned it to the lowest difficulty and crushed them. You have no idea how satisfying it was when you can take them both out in like 6 to 10 hits, with no difficulty whatsoever so ever.

    Just a nitpicking detail - you said "fighting a demon in his own domain" about Raphael. Raphael is a "devil". Most settings use these interchangeably, but in Forgotten Realms, the difference is quite notable.
    "Devils" are lawful evil denizens of hell - they are the ones who make deals with mortals to corrupt them, get their souls etc etc.
    "Demons" are denizens of Abyss. They are chaotic evil, and simply put much more unpredictable in both appearance and behavior.
    The war Karlach was fighting in is actually mostly devils trying to stop demons from corrupting their domain (hell).
    Another detail which I'm not sure if it was ever said in-game is that Zariel - the Arch-Devil ruler of Avernus, the hell you visit in BG3 (there are nine "different" hells), is a corrupted angel sho got into this conflict to stop the demons for good when she was still an angel.

  • @Vyantri
    @Vyantri 7 месяцев назад +11

    Not technically a boss fight but more of a level, but in BG3 the Iron Throne sequence was super super hard. As someone who is entirely new to turn-based combat, even on the easiest difficulty (which gives your more turns to get everything done) it's still quite difficult. Takes a lot of practice runs and planning. And I was simply NOT going to settle for anything less than saving ALL the Gondians, saving Omeluum, saving the Duke (of course) and getting the vault key. I didn't get the tadpole but even without getting the tadpole just doing all the things I mentioned it took me many many hours of practice runs and planning.

      I had my NPC's planned and who went where, and even used a cheat to bring 6 characters instead of 4, and even I was save scrubbing like mad. First few times was because I didnt notice the girl in the chair instead of a cage, took me forever to see her and go "OH". Then there were times the NPCs were just retards and ran past the ladder. And for some reason, which was my biggest issue, the South area (straight from the front of the ladder) was infinitely spawning TONS and TONS of mobs. Like 2 every turn, sometimes 4 if 2 spawned in the flooded hall next to it. Trying to open the cage, free the girl, and get out and shut the door before there was like 4-6 mobs rushing it was a nightmare. I spent nearly 2 hours trying to save them all, with a cheat to use 2 extra people on!

    Annihilation gave me SO much grief for so long- I must have died like a dozen times in a row, sometimes in less than 30 seconds because his moves just weren't clicking with me. The form-switching thing was just ridiculous, because he'd always switch mid-move, and then complete the move when he switched back. But then I made a couple of minor tweaks to my build, rolled an attempt where his RNG meant he barely used his most BS attacks, and my dodge timings just clicked, and I was able to take him down. He's still a bastard, and from what I hear he used to be even WORSE before a patch (this is why I never play games when they're brand new).

    I remember re-trying Annihilation over and over, and I failed each and every time. So I deleted my character. I was playing solo.
    Then I realized I started the game on medium (2) difficulty (like any other game) instead of normal (1).
    By the the time I got to him on normal (1) difficulty, he was way less resistant and I managed to beat him in like 10~12 tries.
    He has sound queues and visual warnings of his attacks (that now don't do as much damage; and you also do more), so he is very much beatable.
    Apparently, this game was meant to be start at lvl1, and then lvl2 and so on, in order for you to properly build up gear up and acquire certain amount of stats, so that the game can be playable. As for difficulties (3) and (4), goes, aside the stats and upgraded weapons and gear, you'll also have to have a proper build.

    Love your videos, but I have a humble request regarding spoilers:
    I think it would be best to include ONLY the titles of games in spoiler warnings at the beginning of every video. I have had a number of spoilers from Gameranx before, and it makes me avoid watching your channel.
    I appreciate that you included a spoiler warning this time, but you still included the names of secret bosses. For example, I had no idea Darth Vader would be a boss in jedi survivor until this spoiler warning spoiled it. Same thing happened to me before I played fallen order, and it really killed the moment.
    I also appreciate having the chapters here so that I can still watch the channel and just skip past the games I don't want spoilers for, but PLEASE just include the TITLES ONLY in your warnings/chapters. I really don't want to have to stop watching Gameranx because of spoilers.
    Thank you, guys, and keep up the great content!

    Although I haven't played Wo Long, I've played a ton of Nioh 1; Lu Bu is kind of the same as Yuki-Onna in Nioh 1. A midgame mandatory boss who tests literally everything you have learned, has no bullshit/cheap attacks, yet is as hard as nails, requiring you to actually not only use everything you have learned so far, but to learn the boss herself as well and how she behaves. There are some hard(er) bosses after her (talking about the main game here), but I think she is the - at the time you get to her and have to fight her - most difficult main game boss in Nioh. She attacks like a human character, with the same speed and relentlessness, but is a yokai (demon), so she cannot be staggered so easily, has a ton of health, attacks fast, hits hard, etc. She CAN BE a fun fight ONCE you learn her patterns, but before that, it's gonna be a multi-hour-long ass-whooping for you.
