Oh I miss buying games in a physical boxes and looking at them and reading the instruction book while on the way home. It was part of the whole experience.
Despite being over 20 years old, Sims 1 is still iconic and remains the heart of the series. The music, the simple gameplay yet hard to master, the whimsical side of the descriptions just everything!
Each Sims game caters to a younger and younger audience, and I think that's a main problem. Seeing naked people in 2000 using the bathroom was just so edgy, nothing will ever compare.
Sims 1 was the hardest game I've ever played and I've played everything from COD to God of War to Final Fantasy. The personality and love that went into Sims 1 made it the most iconic though
Even now, when I play a game, having a tough time getting over a difficulty curve, I will just play The Sims, with a household of 8, to see if I can survive a week. It takes quite bit to achieve this, but once done, it gives that boost of confidence to finally conquer those pesky bosses. I didn't understand why this would work, but now that I am thinking about it, you have to train your brain to multitask on multiple Sims simultaneously, while distractions are continuously being thrown into the mix (i.e. burglars, mood swings, ghosts of those you eagerly killed on your lot, rude neighbors, etc.), so to survive an entire week, and going to any game, where you normally have just one boss to contend with, your brain feels like it was awarded a vacation. 😂
Until this very day I listen to Sims 1 (alongside Sims 2, 3, Sim City) soundtrack during work, it helps me concentrate and keep my mind at a peaceful state. Surely one of the strongest points
There's also no denying that the Sims 1 is probably the most difficult Sims game, followed by the Sims 2 (in terms of meeting a Sim's needs). Fire was also much more of a threat, since the Sims themselves were hilariously awful at dealing with it- even selecting the extinguish option with cause the sim to use the extinguisher right where they were standing instead of moving away from the fire, creating a prime opportunity for things to go very wrong. The game seems to get easier (to meet their needs) with each successive release (not that I'm complaining, personally I think the Sims 3's difficulty is the best, since I don't have to worry way too much on maintaining their needs and focus more on exploring the map)
My first sims game was the Sims 2, but I barely remember playing it so Sims 3 will always be special to me. I mostly build in the Sims 4… it’s pretty much the only thing they got right. Lol
I still enjoy playing TS1, which is something I can't say about TS4. It's a game that had a lot of care, passion, and thought put into it, which, again, can't be said about TS4.
I just loved being transported to yesteryear, those were the good old days and my gawd Sims 1 really does have the best music, it will always have my heart!
@@Rekowcski No but fr. I've been a Sim (og) addict ever since my siblings put me onto it when I was 5, and played 2, 3, Medieval, and yet - no matter how much I've tried, I just cannot get into TS4
@@gertrude5794 Medieval is such an underrated game! I'd pick it over unmoded Sims 3 anytime (the game is barely playable with so many glitches). But S3 World Adventures also has a special place in my heart, and sometimes it's the sole reason I still go back to the game. But Sims 2 will always be the best of them all ❤️
@@julianhcastro Tbh for me TS3 has a special place in my heart for mainly the open world (which Medieval has too). I thought it was a brand new experience to be able to choose what they do at work/school, see what everyone is doing at the same time. I also love the options for working, and how many options there are for self-fulfillment in their lives in general - like writing novels/publishing, blogs, the many different recipes, and all that. What's lacking in TS3 for me (outside of the fashion, which didn't age well :/ ) is the social interaction system + the wishes can just never match up to TS2. While the other perks of 3 are very nice/appreciated, I just think the social and internal aspects of your sims are too important to the gameplay. So while writing novels, the open world, and etc. is plenty of fun, it's always gonna bother me that there's no "wants/fears" to reflect who they are anymore. The wish system felt random and bloated a bunch of desires, it wasn't so unique to me. Not fearing things anymore made it feels like they didn't cherish anything either. I also didn't like that everyone felt the same way about each other. I loved in the Sims 2 how you could like someone more than they like you, or even secretly kinda dislike your sibling while they adore you. It was more fun that way. On top of that, the lore was so unmatched. (I also love the look of the sims in that one so much for some reason, even without any CC). As for Medieval, it really is so overlooked. I know it had a similar wish system to 3, but I felt like the fatal flaw gave them so much flavor and personality. Plus I just loved the quest system, it felt like WoW mixed with Sims. I think it really could have given TS2 a run for its money if EA took the game more seriously. Imagine if it actually had more WoW or The Elder Scrolls elements while being mixed with Sims? I think they skimped out on Medieval a little bit with development, and even then it was such a top tier game, but it had even more potential that I think they chose not to follow through with. If it had more professions (like I wish the Executioner was playable, but they might have been saving that for a later pack or adding something like a tailor), more battle options, better family gameplay, and some other tweaks. It would have been a really amazing game, if only it wasn't abandoned. Sorry for writing an essay LOL
I remember buying the sims 1 as a kid and absolutely loving it, and ended up buying 2, as well as all the gamecube spinoffs. Grew out of it before 3, and recently came back with 4 going free as a 30yr old, and I'm thinking I might switch to one of the older ones, cause I'm feeling super nostalgic
The worst thing about Sims 1 is the needs decay WAY TOO QUICKLY. You'll spend too much time managing their needs and in the end they'll either starve to death, pass out, or pee themselves constantly. All while trying to work and go to school and keep your kids from being sent to military school. Yeah Sims 1 is charming but highly flawed. You can't even use the expansion packs because you're too busy with their needs. Sims 2 fixed this and had max motives cheat.
I would much rather play sims1 than sims4! I grew up on sims3 and I have more respect to the previous games because they were all revolutionary. And then 4 came along and ripped away my open world 😂 I’m still hurting to this day.
I still play sims1 from time to time and i can not agree more! Its such a good game and i still enjoy it to this day. The music, the gameplay elements, the difficulty. It still has such a charm to it, that no other sims game ever achieved for me. Great video!
God bless the Sims 1. THE icon. THE legend. and STILL the MOMENT. Also, growing up, I never knew about the expansions, so I only played the base game for YEARS. I found out about expansions only after Sims 2 came out. To this day, i still haven't played any expansions from the Sims 1 :/
I bought the "Livin Large" expansion when it came out and I LOVED IT SO MUCH. Crazy luxury items, hideous build/buy, there was no direction for it, they just went 10/10 on a bunch of weird things. Now to see something for sale like "Cool Kitchen Stuff" or "Outdoor Living" just makes me sigh.
sims 1 was my first game. I was 5 when I came out but I didn't play it until around 2002. It will always be my favourite. I know all the simlish and even the tv sounds 😂.
I grew up on S1 & S2, so ofc they will always be the BEST FOR ME Only two major flaws that differ 1 from later games are: no ageing & no abilty to built multiple floors
Yess, I was waiting for this one! It may be an old game but I still have so much fun with it. Best magic and farming system, and an automatic 10/10 for being the only one in the franchise that allows me to have a dragon colony.
That horrifically ugly octagonal house was also a favorite of mine and became the testing grounds for child-me to figure out how to take care of a baby without being taken away by the social worker. I ended up building a second floor just to be extra safe, stuck all the necessities (and a hot tub), the bassinet, and the parents upstairs. Got them fired from their jobs and deleted the stairs, leaving them trapped but at least comfortable enough to survive until the baby finally grew up. Afterwards the Baby Prison became a staple of all my future sims 1 playthrus.
Sims is literally my upbringing! From Sims 1, 2, 3, 4, Urbz and Bustin' out along with the My Sims spinoff! It's been amazing to see the game change and develop and this video was a beautiful nostalgia trip!
omg bustin out was crazy fun, the weird console games and spin offs are usually great... even the sims 3 on DS has an open world through some miracle if you like the sims 1 then you might like this video ruclips.net/video/PPnFVDHs_Jg/видео.html
I love Sims 1 but the one thing that's annoying about building in sims 1 is there is no eye dropper or page numbers to figure out what I was last using
the fact that you said in the start of the video! "Keeping a sim or two alive" man i lost count how many sims i burned to death becuz of the fire starting every 7 times out of 10 when cooking on oven and paying attention to babies were always random since u couldnt hve a single guess to why baby is crying also i lost many babies in this game to adoption service cuz of the lack of attention (specially while playing Newbies, Bob & Betty so far i guess adoption agent got Brandi many times)! this game was genre defining and still classicly perfect AF if u ask me xD
I only had Hot Date and Makin Magic, but MM was an insane sendoff for Sims 1 plus you got nice autumn items for your house. Makes me wonder if Sims 2 mechanics could've worked on an updated version of the original's engine, keeping the old artstyle.
Great video. About the humor aspects, I agree that the sims 1 is more refined than most games I've played, but I can't deny that I've came by a very clever joke in one of the most recent products of the franchise, although I'm not sure it was all intentional lol. While playing the new the sims 4 expansion, the high school one, I came by a sim in the T pose. Of course, going in blind on the pack, and knowing that the game can be quite buggy, I was sure it was the actual thing and just ignored it. After some time I decided to click on that sim and just coudn't hold my laughter after seeing in the options: "Ask about the T pose contest". I love that kind of joke in videogames, and it fits perfectly in the sims. At the same time it is a kind of parody of the younger generations and their weird "challenges" on the internet:and also a inside joke for those who are familiar with videogames and their bugs, not to mention the break of expectations of course, but like I said, im not sure if that part was though out by the developers to actually caught people offguard or I was just lucky to not see a single teaser for the pack lol. But anyway, that big text is just me saying that behind all the greediness of EA, there's still people there who actually likes what they are doing and wants to make a fun sims game. I hope they get to show more of their talent on the next game.
@@Rekowcski Yeah, I'm proud to say that a lot of my sense of humor came from the sims and it's special way of making jokes with some of the most casual things in life. Many comediants will ever only wish to be as funny as the buy mode of the sims games, lmao.
I remember buying The Sims when it first released, after reading gaming magazine hype for about a year before release. Sadly, though I did expect it, the current PC at home didn't have the grunt to play it. I used part of my uni student loan to buy a massive gaming PC and sank so many hours into it. I had a lot of fun, and probably went through the 5 stages of grief when my most engaging Sim, Dr. Pid Young died - of a virus that came with the fan made, downloadable hamster. Sims 2 was great in that it had life cycles, weekends and job hours. I perfered Sims 3 the best, especially with the World Adventures pack. 4 just felt cheap, shallow and vapid. All the charm was gone. The base game being less padded was offensive. The stuff packs and expansions seem rushed, glitchier than usual and are really kinda meh. There's no real innovation, there's nothing to pull you in, and keep you there. I dabble on occassion, but honestly, I haven't had it installed for quite some time. Gone are the days where I'd blow hours into it, now it's like a 20 minutes faff around, and then I'm bored or frustrated. I also miss the family tree being more detailed. So yeah, I'd say Sims 1 is far superior to Sims 4.
I will forever love sims 1, i remember when sims 2 came out, i wanted to finish exploring the sims 1 and what it had to offer, and my oldest sister was like, "BUT SIMS 2 IS BETTER", tho tbf the same thing happened with my oldest sister when the sims 2 when the sims 3 came out ^^'... and now sims 3 is my favorite entry =3=' i still enjoy the sims 4 for what it is but, ts1, ts2, and ts3 i always go back to too, too much fun~ (and annoyed reeing at my computer ^^') i have the ts1 mod that allows you to age up your children with a modded bday cake so i could do a legacy there too at my leisure =3= ALSO YESS BONEHILDA THE LEGEND HERSELF DEBUTED HERE makin magic was my first expansion pack c';
I agree with almost everything but I am disappointed that some cool features weren't mentioned. First of all, every new expansion which added a sub-neighborhood had its unique way of transport like a tram for unleashed or an air balloon for makin magic. Secondly, the sims 1 actually had proper wall-building details which are not present even in the sims 2. That detail is a wooden pillars that is visible when the player measures how long his or her wall is going to be. This style of building walls is used in some countries including the US. And lastly, depending on the order installing expansion packs some of the pre-existing builds were updated. For example, with the correct way of installing packs, lots from vacation island could be adjusted for pets. The only thing I disagree with what you said in the video is music because the soundtracks for Vampires and Realm of Magic are the most climatic of the entire the sims 4 soundtracks.
@@Rekowcski yeah It would be cool! The Sims 1 is actually filled with many details which are not present in ts2/ts3/ts4 like actual working catwalk for models, some kind of record studio where it was possible to record some songs from superstar. The most interesting thing is that some feature didn't returned or returned pretty late like snowy part of the map where there is snow nonstop from Vacation returned in Snowy Escape Ex. Even game creators around the time of Cottage Living release said that CL will pair well with Realm of magic that is because combination of CL and RoM allows to recreate some part of gameplay from Makin Magic. What makes me sad is that some kind of fashion model career never returned so is middle size of aquarium/fish tank.
@@Rekowcski classic ts1 superstar fame problem 😅 You can get in trouble even if you have enough fame points but your mood is bad 😅 it was challenging and difficult but the player could feel a progress. Completely different experience than fame is in the sims 3 late night or the sims 4 get famous 😒
@@Czekoladowy_zajaczek Fame in The Sims: Superstar is the first open career in the sims series, and it's done really well. Apart from the photo booth and karaoke machine though, all fame objects in TS1 were unique to it...
Isn't it weird that in the Goth's mansion is a fourth chair outside were they eat? Was it supposed to be for Cassandra's twin sister Bratty? Maybe is my imagination and this is too far fetched
I think it’s weird that the dining room is outside, but of course the tables in sims 1 were way too big haha. But that was popular in the 90s. Bratty and Cousin always come in the house to scare Bella when I’m playing, I think it’s super creepy that it is cassandras twin.
I've never really played the sims 1, but I'll often put the soundtrack on while doing stuff. It's just so good! Much more character to it than the newer games. I get a sense of nostalgia from it, I don't know why.
I remember the sims 1 "black market" in school. The richest student who bought the latest version will give his/her best friend the game before so they could play the version who will give the version prior etc.... So fun!
It was a strategy game with goals that took A LOT of time & careful planning to achieve. Want that promotion? You need to some how get those skills, get those friends AND keep them while getting all your needs in the green AND get your sim to actually go to work. It could take SIM DAYS if not a sim week to make this happen. That promotion wasn't just handed to you! This is where Sims4 goes wrong - it's not real life without the struggle. Same with getting married in Sims1 - THAT takes a lot of time and work like it would in real life. Sims4 is so easy that nothing feels like an accomplishment YOU earned and should feel proud of so... what's the point?
Sims 1 is really hard good luck trying to keep all their needs up it’s something that you have to do constantly you barely have time to do something fun you sims will be constantly hungry or have low social and refuse to do anything id play it again if it wasn’t such a pain in the ass compared to all the other sims games
I was never a hardcore simmer, so I didn't really notice the differences, but now that you mention it: yes, the older version were so much funnier, more whimsical, and macabre. Really wanna play some Sims 1 now ...
Don't be upset or mad at all Don't feel regret or sad at all Hey, I'm still a part of the Sims community And I'm fine, I am totally fine I will stand on the side as you shine I'm not fine, I'm not fine I can't feel emotions My world is not open to explore I can't take the newest game for you to adore I'm waiting on a miracle I just can't get pregnant Have no aspiration here neither wants or fears Can't keep down the competition, deep inside Always waiting on a miracle, a miracle I am walking alone I am waiting for lore Like I'm stuck in year 2000,wanting to shine Like all of you shine All I need is a chance Give me just one glance All I know is I can't stay on the side Open your eyes, open your eyes, open your eyes I would feel emotions Think of new worlds to explore Someone please just let me know, where do I go? I am waiting on a miracle, a miracle I would give you babies Show this community something new Who I am inside, so what can I do? I'm sick of waiting on a miracle, so here I go I am ready, come on, I'm ready Sick of taking what's left constantly EA, bless me now as you blessed us all those years ago It's almost unbearable!! Am I too late for a miracle?
Sims 1, the culprit who started it all. My addiction started with this baby in 2001 on my beatup windows pc. It took like ten minutes to load but it was so fvcking worth it.
Playing the Sims 1 in 2024 is honestly better than playing it when it came out. You can get it for free, and there are mods that add features like seasons, weekends, and gay marriage. It’s delightful.
In Sims 1 you got so many new objects and great, beautiful in detail designed neighbourhoods by every new expansions pack. There were so more love in all of it. Sims 4 …. So many dlcs for nothing, it’s without any soul this game, I am sorry.
I found Sims 1 along with the add-ons and strategy guide in my attic during lockdown thinking I'd sold them years. After 20+ years, I dusted those babies off and went all in. I did pretty much exactly what it is shown in the ad - Started off with a basic bungalow built from scratch with only the essentials and just slowly chipped away. That bungalow became a palace in no time - after 3 months (30 minutes a day tops) I had a utopia full of overachieving freaks in every field you can think of - scientists, businessmen, politicians, actors, singers, magicians, fashion designers, military, you name it - all started on a level playing with no money as I made sure to use up all of that starting 20k - none of this "rosebud" BS - just old-school playing the long game. The discipline and patience paid off and I built everything from medieval castles to Hollywood mansions. If played the right way, Sims 1 is the ultimate brain hack - it forces you to stay on top of things and use critical thinking. I don't think 2, 3 and 4 will give you that same hit... despite the superior graphics and game physics, there's way too many options, most of them pointless add-ons and they've gotten away from what Sims is meant to be about.
@@Rekowcski aw man, I got so dialled in. Nuclear families, childless couples, bachelors, retired folks. Gave all of them detailed backstories and had a clear idea of what path I wanted them to take along with a dignified exit strategy. All became badasses in their own unique ways - and that’s before I uploaded the add-ons. They were just the spice in the stew. Also…..none of this voyeuristic, IQ-lowering garbage that many unfortunately see as the game’s only offering…like sticking 8 guys in a room wearing nothing but their underwear and sadistically watching them lose their minds or putting them in all in the pool and then deleting the ladder so they can’t get out…..not Will Wright’s vision and not mine.
I went into the army after like 3 years of not playing the sims 4 I tried to play it and I couldn’t even get passed the annoying af character creator menu. I personally think the sims busting out was the best sims game
I've been playing since 2000 too. I still have all my old discs tho Makin Magic is stuck inside a dead computer tower (and I ain't getting rid of that thing until I get my disc!) So I'm playing a digital copy right now, and the old S1 store stuff like the foosball table finally works so I might stick with this digital copy even after I rescue my disc. Even started posting a game every Sunday night. 3 of my old fave mod websites still exist! Oddsim, Around the Sims, and C&C Enterprises, I found them again.
Sims 4 is the best game for building, but the worst game for playing. The first sims prioritized gameplay. I hope they remaster the first game some day
I play all The Sims Series. But currently stuck at The Sims 4… because eye candy 😬 , beautiful art direction… but just that’s it… no more… thats why i afraid of Life by You… will i like it? Because i do love good gameplay games
Life by You seems to be the most promising life sim game in development in my opinion, but I would agree that it's the ugliest at this point. I think Paralives will give Sims 4 lovers a gorgeous aesthetic, it's a different style but still a little more beautiful and cartoonish. Who knows what the final products will be though, honestly if I get a colour wheel I'll be happy
I think the "doll house" aspect is the issue here. EA has perfected the formula to sell this game to the female market and profit from the specific traits of women's over consumption.
I hated the classical music, and it’s the main reason I never got into building with S1. I just wanted to get it over with ASAP. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some classical music, and before anyone comes at me with “you’re obviously not a musician”, yes I am. I play five instruments. But the classical soundtrack for S1 was boring AF.
@@TinaAnnsdottir if you are a classical trained musician I can understand why you would find the compositions boring. A lot of it was just improvisation with harmonizing chords, which any good pianist can do. My context for this opinion stems specifically for the reason that much of popular 2000s music was lacking any sort of artistry. Jerry lewis isn't Beethoven, but he's better than Paris Hilton 😂
" The Sims was released during a time when popular music was very much manufactured and void of significant artistry" do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?
That doesn't surprise me, I felt Vampires was one of the strongest game packs even thought I don't love occults usually. Lots of quality stuff in there, i love the old fashioned creepy build stuff too lol
@@Rekowcski same yeah, my fav sims 3 dlc was the supernatural cuz’ Im a huge vampire fan, I guess it makes sense that vampires would be higher quality, it was one of the older ones right? Regardless, I’d still take sims 3 vampires over 4, at least with mods.
You say in the intro: "the game wasn't in 3d and the sims lacked personality". This is wrong, you could choose from 10 traits that came in contrasting pairs, and those traits matter. A neat sim acted differently than a slob sim, and a mean sim different from a nice sim...
Here's my ranking list for The Sims games: 1. The Sims 3. First off, this game has a huge nostalgia factor for me. I remember playing it on the XBOX 360 like a decade ago. I also love the open world, the huge customization factor, and just the over all style. 2. The Sims 2. This game's attention to detail is CRAZY. It's way ahead of its time and even rivals the best of the best in the modern years! The realistic genetic system also can't be beat. The only real takeaway I have is that it's the most unstable in the series. 3. The Sims FreePlay. This game also has a nostalgia factor for me. I mainly rank it this high because of just how much there is to do. I like the quest system, despite it not being in line with the rest of the games. Can't beat the feeling of unlocking a whole new gameplay feature by completing quests! 4. The Sims Online. Hoo, boy! This one I don't have too much experience with, personally, but I have played one of its unofficial revivals (specifically FreeSO) and from what I can tell, it's really fun. It's even more difficult than The Sims in that you start the game with no money at all and no house, and you have to get a job and work for a super long time until you can actually get a house as the lots are so freaking expensive. Would definitely recommend playing. 5. The Sims 4. While not made with as much love or attention as the other games, it's still fun to come back to every now and then. I find it ridiculous that the base game takes up twice the disk space that The Sims 3 + Pets takes up though. Not the best Sims game, but probably not quite the worst. 6. The Sims. I don't really see this one with the same rose-tinted glasses as those who were around in the early 2000s do (I personally was born in 2008), but I can see how revolutionary and astonishing it was back then. The only reason it's this low on the list is because we've been spoiled with the features the newer games offer. I still love it though. 7. The Sims Mobile, The Sims Medieval, and every other Sims game I haven't played. I dunno, I've never played them.
I recently had to travel on a long-ish flight and I played "Freeplay" and "Sims online" for the first time and i must say, Freeplay was the best of the two! I do recommend sims medieval... its so fun
In my opinion I think sims 4 is better bcs I WASNT born in the 2000 I was born in 2013 and sims 4 is just more realistic than sims 1 so yah I think sims 4 is the best sims game there is
Oh I miss buying games in a physical boxes and looking at them and reading the instruction book while on the way home. It was part of the whole experience.
I was always reading the instructions on the way home, haha
these were not 'physical games' these were actual games and nowadays these are access to games people pays even without getting setup file lmao
That sounds so adorable
I miss when pay for the game means you own It not this modern "rent" It and cant use It without internet
I could sit for hours and listen to Sims 1 music. The actions and emotions were so much better than Sims 4. The humor was so awesome too.
I LOVE the sims 1. I wish they made a game using this art style but with the mechanics and openness of the sims 3.
it would be so much fun!
Totalmente de acuerdo 👍
@Ciel Victorian I already have old town installed, OBVIOUSLY haha... i dont use custom worlds much, but I use old town in sims 2 and sims 3 sometimes
There’s actually an indie game currently in development right now with a concept similar to this! It’s called Tiny Life.
yep. 2D but open world. Kinda is the best PC friendly game type. And the world build can be massive.
Sims 1 was the hardest game I've ever played and I've played everything from COD to God of War to Final Fantasy. The personality and love that went into Sims 1 made it the most iconic though
I play many "hard" games too, but Sims 1 is always the hardest. If you play 8 sims, the whole house is on fire and everyone is dead in 24 hours
10 reasons in exactly 10 minutes, why is this so satisfying to me? lol
I added 3 seconds to the end screen just to round it out :x
Until this very day I listen to Sims 1 (alongside Sims 2, 3, Sim City) soundtrack during work, it helps me concentrate and keep my mind at a peaceful state. Surely one of the strongest points
Ey, me too! I personally only enjoy music without lyrics, and the Sims franchise has really nailed it for me.
the music was so outstanding and perfecty fited the game. also i miss the creepy vibe sims 1 has.
I was maybe 10 or 11 when playing the sims 1 when it came out, and it literally gave me nightmares.
The burglar theme when you don’t have a home alarm
Lol
90% of my Sims 4 time was building and the other 10% was having 100 babies (made it to 42)
I still enjoy playing TS1, which is something I can't say about TS4. It's a game that had a lot of care, passion, and thought put into it, which, again, can't be said about TS4.
I just loved being transported to yesteryear, those were the good old days and my gawd Sims 1 really does have the best music, it will always have my heart!
It will always have a place in my heart as well x

My ranking:
1- S2
2- S3
3- S3 Medieval
4- S1
5- Any other game ever made
6- S4
I agree with the ranking, particularly number 5 and 6
Seeing someone else rank Medieval so high is giving me life, except I'd prob switch Medieval to #2 and TS3 to #3 as much as I love/adore it.
You can find Sims 2 online...
I like Sims 2, 3, 1, and then 4. I definitely think 1 is better than 4.
I’m sorry you lost your open world 😢
I still play sims1 from time to time and i can not agree more! Its such a good game and i still enjoy it to this day.
The music, the gameplay elements, the difficulty. It still has such a charm to it, that no other sims game ever achieved for me.
Great video!
I play sims 1 in my downtime, it's like the special game that I only play once in awhile and i never grow tired of it. Thank you !
@@Rekowcski Sims 1 and sims 2 era was just a different time(and a different dev team) and nothing could ever compare.
That Burn towards TS4 at the beginning was legendary
It's the truth 🤣
OMG, bless your soul to teach children when it was good ❤️
The kids need to know the truth!
sims 1 was my first game. I was 5 when I came out but I didn't play it until around 2002. It will always be my favourite. I know all the simlish and even the tv sounds 😂.
I grew up on S1 & S2, so ofc they will always be the BEST FOR ME
Only two major flaws that differ 1 from later games are: no ageing & no abilty to built multiple floors
Yess, I was waiting for this one! It may be an old game but I still have so much fun with it. Best magic and farming system, and an automatic 10/10 for being the only one in the franchise that allows me to have a dragon colony.
There are lots of things that you can only do in the Sims 1, I'm trying to make a list of everything haha
Im glad you have memories of that house i love that house so much, it uses all my favourite wallpapers and floors from livin large all at once 😂
I miss Simlish!! Nothing beats the OG version when it came to their language, it really made this fictional world feel realistic.
Sims is literally my upbringing! From Sims 1, 2, 3, 4, Urbz and Bustin' out along with the My Sims spinoff! It's been amazing to see the game change and develop and this video was a beautiful nostalgia trip!
omg bustin out was crazy fun, the weird console games and spin offs are usually great... even the sims 3 on DS has an open world through some miracle

This game is a lot harder than the others, but it's still more fun than sims 4.
Sometimes they can pull a good one out, I just think the sims 1 was basically saturated in humour, and they weren't afraid to go dark with it.
I loved every word of this. I hope one day I can break EA's spell, I can't believe people are still giving EA $1000 for The Sims 4.
I will forever love sims 1, i remember when sims 2 came out, i wanted to finish exploring the sims 1 and what it had to offer, and my oldest sister was like, "BUT SIMS 2 IS BETTER", tho tbf the same thing happened with my oldest sister when the sims 2 when the sims 3 came out ^^'... and now sims 3 is my favorite entry =3=' i still enjoy the sims 4 for what it is but, ts1, ts2, and ts3 i always go back to too, too much fun~ (and annoyed reeing at my computer ^^') i have the ts1 mod that allows you to age up your children with a modded bday cake so i could do a legacy there too at my leisure =3= ALSO YESS BONEHILDA THE LEGEND HERSELF DEBUTED HERE makin magic was my first expansion pack c';
I love all of the sims but 1, 2 & 3 are just the best!
I like playing each of those games for different reasons
And unlike Sims 4 we had transport in Sims 1 )))
we had taxis, company cars, and clown roller coasters

Thank you Tia it was a joy making this video.
just. the. sims 1 MUSIC!! iconic
I have every soundtrack
@@Rekowcski 😍😍
Sims 1, charming and iconic indeed 💗
I should gather a bunch of smaller details and compile them into a list of things the Sims 1 did, but no other sims games did after.
@@Czekoladowy_zajaczek i always get in trouble because I go on the catwalk before I have enough fame points 😅

Bratty and Cousin always come in the house to scare Bella when I’m playing, I think it’s super creepy that it is cassandras twin.
best game ever, 100% content, details, challenge. things I missed was at least let kids grow into adults and needs decay could be slower.
Sims 1 needed one feature: aging/dying
In case you didn't know (I didn't for a long time), you can age sims up with the making magic expansion pack but it requires a spell

So fun!
My school's black market involved burned CDs and cd keys written in sharpie on it
It was a strategy game with goals that took A LOT of time & careful planning to achieve.
Sims 1 is the game we dont need to invent challenges for, haha
1:36 If only focusing on popular music, compared to how things are now, I'd say the music was pretty damn artistic back then
I certainly dont disagree with nothing you said, its absolutely true! Sims 1 iconic and forever will be!!
Honestly you could’ve mentioned the 700 price difference between TS1 and TS4 and I would’ve been sold by that alone lol
No game is worth THAT much
You're absolutely right. Can't wait for sims 5 with a monthly subscription plus full price packs :(
There is also no comparable feeling then driving home with sims 1 livin large in the early 2000s haha
I was never a hardcore simmer, so I didn't really notice the differences, but now that you mention it: yes, the older version were so much funnier, more whimsical, and macabre. Really wanna play some Sims 1 now ...
The erosion of macabre elements is perhaps the most disappointing thing about the evolution of the franchise. It's trying to be a children's game now.
@@Rekowcski so true!
The heart shaped bed is disassembled in the basement

And bring back the sarcastic humor and the clown coaster again too
The peak of the sims is sims 3 which has many features and import your design patterns etc. But the bad side is its still stuck on 32bit in windows.
What’s the song playing in the background? I remember it from Sims 1 but can’t remember the name.
At the beginning of the video? It's either buy mode 2 or 4... If it's in the middle of the video it's neighbourhood 2

This comment made my day, I'm so glad you had that experience!!!

I love the Sims 1 so much, it's still lowkey my nostaligia favourite, ive been playing since 2000 (im old) haha
Oddsim, Around the Sims, and C&C Enterprises, I found them again.
the sims 1 is iconic and my childhood but omg did it age badly I just can't go back to play sadly.
sims4 is a dollhouse game, sims1 was a survival game.
i don't get why people wanna compare them, they're completly diffrent gerne.
Sims 4 is the best game for building, but the worst game for playing. The first sims prioritized gameplay. I hope they remaster the first game some day
Sims 1 best sims game. Except sims 2 on console has direct control of player and 2 player.
They dumbed down Sims 4 so much that basically gameplay wise first part is superior
The Sims 2 is my favorite. It mixes the greatness with Sims 1 and develops it. Never had any interest in playing Sims 3 or 4.

You should try the 3rd one just stay away form the 4th one

I think the "doll house" aspect is the issue here. EA has perfected the formula to sell this game to the female market and profit from the specific traits of women's over consumption.
My ranking:
1- S3
2- S2
3- S4
4- S
@@Rekowcski I’m not classically trained, and it was still boring. And Paris Hilton is a pretty good DJ, although that’s not my jam either.

do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?
Get a job
Honestly? Music wise imo nothing tops Sims 4’s vampire DLC music. That being said, the rest can go.
Sims 1 sims certainly have more personality than sims 4 sims 😂
This intro made me laugh sooo hard 🤣
It's sad but true 😭
.cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Reason: It is challenging.
We need remastered sims 1. Just slightly adjusted. I don't like other sims versions apart from 2nd
Here's my ranking list for The Sims games:
I do recommend sims medieval... its so fun
@@Rekowcski Did you mean The Sims Mobile instead of The Sims Online? oHo
@@JoBot__ omg yes, sorry im old im a sims 1 online baby
I really like the Sims 1, but I'm too much of a family/generational player to play it for long periods of time lolololol
I often play to get to the end of a career without cheats and it's crazy hard, but once I complete it I stop 😭

Lol the sims 4 is really a very bad game
thank you for this sensible, correct comment
@@Rekowcski You're welcome.
In my opinion I think sims 4 is better bcs I WASNT born in the 2000 I was born in 2013 and sims 4 is just more realistic than sims 1 so yah I think sims 4 is the best sims game there is
1 and 2 are the best ones, you can achieve a lot in the time it takes 3 or 4 just to load to the point where you can start playing
Nah I love Sims 3
Say what you want about the Sims 4. But don't you dare slander 3
