Thank you for this detailed and enjoyable review. I just bought new 1440p monitors(stepping up from 1080p) and want to upgrade to a 4060 or 4070. I think I"ll aim for the 4070 based on your video. Playing on gamepad in very demanding singleplayer games, lock 40, 45 or 48 fps on high refresh rate monitor it will easly do the job. Above 60 playing on mouse in fast action games in 1440p is still nice.
I just bought my first gaming PC, a cheap one but it meets my apps recommended specs (X-Plane flight sim; the pc has i5-14400F/4060, it arrives wednesday). My monitor is 1440 (which I already have for work), so this video caught my eye. Question: Is this video actually running 1440p? It looks like only the central region of the monitor is being used, so it may actually be running at 1080p? If this is needed I can do it, but I would rather use the full display... is this possible while retaining decent graphics?
I’m using an ultrawide monitor to test 16:9 at 1440p, so this is true 1440p. I just didn’t have a regular 16:9 1440p monitor, and this is the next best option in my arsenal. Enjoy your new PC!
Well, I'd like to say that in your test, you're using "just" a preset (with no deep optimization) and GPU temperature is 65°, I don't know if your fan curve is the default one or not, but if you could lower temperatures you'd get even more performance, I think this particular 4060 model has not the best cooling system. Considering temperatures and adding (if you haven't) overclock, I think this card is really really good :D
