    as a lefty, one of the first things I learned was how to hit the mag release with my trigger finger, some right handed people even like to wrong side the mag release so they can do the same, as using your trigger finger for the mag release doesn't require breaking your grip and you're already removing your finger from the trigger guard for the reload.

    • @CountryBoy-zl4fh
      @CountryBoy-zl4fh Год назад +1

      Couldn't agree more. Back in the day shooting USPSA I used a conversion made by Smith&Alexander on all my 1911's that allowed you to move the mag release to the other side and being a "righty" meant using trigger finger (which has to come off the trigger any way) when doing mag changes.

    • @danielhenderson8316
      @danielhenderson8316 Год назад +2

      That's another plus for the H&K/Walther paddle mag release. Your finger barely left the trigger guard and you're swapping mags.

    Thanks again, David, for another smart, accurate review. Well, we now own 2 handguns in common (and a sense of humor). I have the previous generation of this gun - the Bul Sas II Tac Commander w/ fiber optic iron sights bought 1.5 years back for $1350. Have found it to be superb - GREAT trigger, endlessly reliable, comfortable w/ great ergonomics & feel, and very accurate / low recoil for its size. I use this as my home pistol, but certainly enjoy bringing it to the range often. Also bought the MPA DS9 Hybrid about 5 months back (prior to seeing your review), as my super-premium perfection piece (which I'll start shooting in September - when I believe I'll finally be worthy of its magnificence😃). And hoping / praying my lovely wife will buy me the Staccato XL for our 10th Anniversary in December - sending hints & suggestions galore. Might I suggest you take a look at / review the Tanfoglio Defiant Limited Master ... it's barely ever reviewed, and I find it to be a super-accurate, smooth, soft-shooting, affordable, out-of-the-box, entry-to-mid-level competetion gun for Limited. Of everything I've shot over the past 2 years - I haven't seen it surpassed (for $1,300, that is). Would love to hear your opinion on it above just about anyone else. Just a suggestion. Cheers, SJR

    I always wanted a 1911, saw a couple of reviews of the commander in 9mm with the heavy barrel. I got my about 2 months ago and it has become my favorite 9mm. I'm not an expert but fit and finish is excellent, trigger is just 2 lbs overall it's a great value. They are a little hard to find and in Long Island NY, they are like a "good politician".... nobody has ever seen one.

    Great, Honest review as usual! Not the same old bought with product schill common on the googletube these days. Man I want the Bul Armory Tac 2 4.25". I've been looking and watching reviews for a year now. I wish they were more available. I am going to call Bul and check again when I get enough nickels saved up. I didn't realize they use the old Para mag design over the Staccatto. Maybe my old RIA mags will work as well. Up until now I've had a RIA Doublestack 1911 commander , that I have outfitted with Wilson parts. Its fine for what it is but I want to move up in quality and go to a Holosun optic. That pretty much leaves Staccato and Bul and Atlas etc in doublestack guns. The Bul is the only one that is affordable.

If you didn't order immediately after the notification email went out, you were SOOL. Anyways, got mine delivered today. Put 250 rounds through it and what an amazing piece of craftsmanship. Great trigger (though a little light for my taste) and deadly accurate with iron sights (25 yards)right out of the box. Will add an optic next. Thanks for your amazing review, it gave me the confidence to order one!

    I have a SAS II Tac Government 9mm. I guess you call it the first gen of the Bul. It's probably one of the most fun guns I own to shoot. And it hits way above it's price point. Only negatives, magazines are expensive and hard to come by. If Limited Minor was ever a thing it would be a fantastic choice.

The fit and finish is second to none. Great trigger and really fun to shoot. Have a local dealer in my area GP ARMS and he is great to work with. Give Gilbert a call very knowledgeable I’m sure you have come across him in the competition world. He was one of there first dealers in USA. Always has great inventory. I highly recommend the BUL ARMORY PISTOLS. I pretty much got rid of my other 1911’s after I got turned to them. A pure joy to shoot. Great review as usual always learn something from them 👍👍

    For IDPA, which would you choose between a CZ Shadow 2 (assuming it made weight at 45 ounces) or the SAS II Tac Pro (ported, 30 ounces)? Which do you think would have faster follow-up shots? I've heard porting reduces recoil about 30 percent over the same non-ported pistol. However, would love to hear more about if you think a heavier gun or lighter, ported gun would better reduce recoil and have faster follow-up shots. I like my standard video game controller, it allows more room for error. It's not as sensitive so I have a few milliseconds to make adjustments before I engage the trigger controls. (G19)
    When I use those new fangled high speed tech fine tuned gaming controllers, they are so sensitive to every little movement that you have no room for error, thus you can't make those quick human reactionary adjustments before engaging the trigger controls... (Staccatos)

    @7:27 you said the Frame was Steel. That is actually incorrect information. It's aluminum and one of the reasons it's lighter weight making it decent for carry .. just figured you'd wanna issue a correcting addendum stating that pinned at the top. But other than that great stuff as always! Thank you!

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  5 месяцев назад +1

      no - it's not incorrect information because the models changed in 23/24. Mine is in fact steel - it's a 21 or 22. The frame is magnetic. In 23 it was aluminum unless you bought Pro and 24 they changed again where they introduced the EDC version of the gun and the Tac version got an update - with pro models still available.

How would you say the muzzle flip/recoil compare? Are the shooting characteristics worth the length and weight for a EDC. The lifetime staccato warranty with more aftermarket are also a plus.
