I appreciate the effort of trying on all these different coats in the shops instead of ordering and/or buying them just for a video (which is not environment friendly). It's a great format and I'd love to see more videos like these!
These types of videos are very helpful because there are so many choices of coats and it’s hard to choose (especially for those of us in the US who don’t have many of these stores near us).
Very much loved this video focused on high street which is much more accessible for most of us in the US. You actually trying them in was just so helpful, too! For those of us who are not as experienced, knowledgeable and talented as you, it can be hard to imagine what a picture of something will look like on us. This is especially important for those investment wardrobe essentials! More like this please!
I bought the H&M coat in the grey but had to send it back, it's lovely but it's so heavy on the neck that I felt like my neck would ache so much! Yes to more of this type of video, on absolutely everything but particularly denim 🙂
Hi Lydia, what I can say is that I like all your work no matter the format. I like that you don’t buy unnecessary and still manage to come here with so many outfits ideas and styles. But more importantly you encourage us to style what we have already in our wardrobe and shop in a sustainable way. Thank you 😊
I like this format! It actually helps that you're also trying on many of the coats with the same outfit underneath. Gives a good frame of reference. Would love to see the same for trench coats, black blazers, and puffers. Congrats on hitting 800k!!
CONGRATS ON REACHING 800K!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks for making this video! Never clicked faster! I was looking for more versatile and timeless black or navy coats or trench coats for Fall / Winter.
Lydia this is a very helpful concept - thank you! I'd love to see a video where you explain what gives pieces a quality feel in terms of fabrics, blends... Even cut, structure. Sort of a "what to look for in a coat, blazer, trousers..."
Congratulations Lydia on hitting 800k!!! Very much deserved! I really like the black coats you showed even though we don’t wear coats for long here in CA. But could definitely do a lightweight unlined one. Thank you so much for going to the various stores and trying them on to show us. That’s so helpful compared to seeing just a picture online. 😊❤️
It took me one year to decide which coat to go for. I live in Sweden and winters are long and very cold, coats are a serious business here. I wanted to get a good staple piece that would last forever, but I was reluctant to spend 1k or so, realising that many middle/high-end brands still feature a lot of polyester in their garments. Anyway I finally decided to set a budget of maximum 350/400€ for my wool black coat. I searched high and low for a second-hand coat first, impossible for me to find one. I am a eu size 36/38 and wanted something soft, warm and comfortable, I wanted to layer blazers and chunky knits underneath. And it needed to be looking good and expensive, without being too heavy, some long coats I had in the past gave me some back pain because of the weight!! Well, long story short…I have found my perfect staple coat, it’s the one you showed in this video from COS 😍 A bit sad you din’t mention composition and price, it has a very high % of wool and it feels soft, it’s warm, lined and long, oversized exactly like I wanted it, looks classic and edgy at the same time. I wear it without that band on the back, and it looks more sleek and chic. I went for a XXS which is insane as it still is quite oversized! I am very glad of my purchase and I can recommend it to anyone, COS has the best ratio quality/price for fast fashion brands, love the scandi design and timeless chic look. Price around 300€.
Your comment is very helpful! Thank you very much. Still, I want to clarify - isn't it cold in this coat in winter? What temperature did you still wear it to? I would be very grateful for an answer! I also dream of this coat, but I want to be sure that I can wear it often in winter.
it’s warm enough around 0 C degrees. For -0 temperatures, coats are not so suitable regardless the quality, then you should go for an artic jacket designed for extreme weather conditions.
Even though I'm going to be 60 years on November 18th, I'm a loyal subscriber who applies a lot of your fashion tips with my present wardrobe, and I get compliments quite often from people at work. It's even happened a few times that strangers, young women of your age, compliment me on my outfit. My secret of styling comes from watching your videos. Oh, and I've been wearing a bright red lipstick for 40 years. I know that you'll get to 1 million subscribers. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Thank you Lydia! I would love a video on black blazers - so many different styles and length, but you always find the ones that fit your outfits the best!
Thank you! Would love to see this as a series! What about a “high street” video on leather handbags? My husband is cracking up because we’re from Texas and I now talk about “high street” clothing stores!😂 I’m also starting to use the word “jumpers” instead of sweaters. Lol
I’d love to see camel colored coats with wool/cashmere blends as well as a video with blazers. I love your style and am sure whatever you present will be fabulous!
I live in a large metropolitan area where people dress quite casually. I've been watching you closely and coming up with some very nice outfits. Today, I wore a pair of black pants, a t-shirt, and statement jewelry. I had to do some shopping but because I didn't have a car today, I had to Uber. When I got in, my driver eyed me up and down and said, "Are you enjoying your visit?" LOL! I just said yes and moved on. 😅
Very helpful! I’ve been eyeing this and other stories coat for years and am a similar height to you. So it was really helpful to hear it runs small and see where it hits on you. Thanks again my fashion guru 🙌🏻
Even though I'm from Texas, and it is way warmer here, I immediately lunged for that Mango military style one. I have very few structured pieces of clothing, so this will be a nice piece to add to my wardrobe. I did see that they had a structured one with over 70% wool and the lining was about half viscose. I probably should have also gotten that one since I get hot super easily. Thanks for this review format btw!!!
Love the oversize wool coats. I opted for the red one from Mango as I have a nice long , lined black trench coat. Can’t wait to get the red one. I love the oversized wool ones with casual wear, but if needed, it will look good with a black cocktail dress as well. Thanks for all your hard work! Great info!!
I just bought a coat from InWear after searching HIGH AND LOW for the perfect black coat. Since I'm in Canada, I was fixated on finding something longer but also buttons up high at the neck! I initially wanted belted, but abandoned that after discovering most belted styles have a wider, lower neckline. Fingers crossed it looks good.
Please please continue doing this and make it a series! As a student on a tight budget, I would greately appreciate advices on what to buy/where to invest when it comes to high street because I am still learning about materials, structures, shapes and other key things when it comes to making a smart purchase decision.
There is a company based in Manchester called Busy Clothing, their coats are beautiful, well made, more structured with nice detail. They retail at £106. I have purchased 3 in black, navy and camel, very satisfied.
this is so useful, would LOVE to see this kind of video with jeans, it is so hard with those, I find. Oh and I got the weekday alex coat last year and I really really love it! Thanks Lydia!
Congrats Lydia!! Loved this video! H&M killed it with the coats this season. This coat (you recommended) is surprisingly thick--I love it. I preferred it to the others (albeit of price). It's already freezing here in NYC and it's been GREAT! 😍🥰
Loved that format! Yes pls for going through with more of these. I loved the Mango coat the best, I appreciate a high wool percentage for warmth. How about party outfits next? Christmas party invitations are snowing in left and right and although I already know what I’ll be wearing - do you girls want to know? 😄 a sequins skirt 🥳🤩 - but I am open to other ideas too😊 Thank you for the video Lydia 😘
Loved this! Lydia, I need cotton blends for next to my skin. I try and avoid high polyester content and cashmere is also too itchy. My skin just breaks out and makes me hot and miserable. Tops are more the issue. Pants I can usually tolerate. Please include more cotton blends in tops, dresses and jumpsuits, leisure wear. Also, I would love your input and examples of all types of clothing for large chested women. It's so hard to keep from looking frumpy. I am 38DD and usually wear a U.S. 10 and M/L bottoms. Also, cotton blend bras, bralettes, minimizer bras in cotton blends. I want things that breath, like bl3nds with cotton and silk.
I love the & Other Stories coat Lydia, but you have put the price up at £149 when unfortunately it is £205 but if you're a member it reduces to £174 after 15% discount. I also adore the Mango one. Can I ask which one is your favourite out of those two please Lydia?
Love me a long coat!! But, am I the only one who feels like the wrap coats without buttons and a belt tie look like bathrobes? 😂 I seriously have done a double take before questioning if someone is actually walking around in a bathrobe before. ❤
Hi Lydia, Thank you so much for all your videos full of amazing tips, I love your content and style. Could you please do a video with styling tips for petite women? I feel like it's difficult for us to find good pieces that fit our petite body. For example, I love long coats, I think they look very classy and timeless, but most of them look very heavy on me and I feel like I can't wear them because I get lost in all that fabric. The same happens with some chunky knits etc... Thank you so much, I would really appreciate it.
I had such trouble trying to find a great coat. I probably ordered about 15 from an online retailer. From different brands. I was so selective and the coats I ordered were perfect in the pics amd ticked all my boxes. And then often the fit was terrible, eg it fitted my shoulders and was too tight around my hips. Or other way around. Absolutely not a fun experience. Eventually found one that, while it doesn't have the type of collar I thought I wanted, it's really beautiful and suits me very well. Online ordering is great to try things on at home, but organising the returns and taking bulky parcels back to the post office is time-consuming.
Of course, the coats here are cheaper than department stores but I would say Zara, Mango, H&M are thinner and tougher touch usually. 70% wool content is not bad, and I trust her selections but I’d go to outlets or departments on sale in my country. I live in Korea and for outers I would choose domestic, Korean brands. And I’d invest around $300-400 to wear for over 5 years and over decades.
Could you do a video for more casual while still chic . I work from home 90% of the time and I’m stuck in a rut and how I want to dress does not match my lifestyle at the moment
You might be hard pressed finding a brand new QUALITY coat within that price range. She did share the H&M one which was £75, so it’s possible, but not common. You might have some luck finding a quality coat within that price range if you shop for it secondhand. Think natural fibers and not polyester (cashmere, wool, silk, etc.) as well as consideration of construction and stitching. Also consider buying during sales.
Great video Lydia so useful as I'm currently looking for a black coat thanks for doing the hard work for us! Can I ask where in Manchester you have Mango, I live in the North so can get to Manchester easily xx
Could you consider taking at least one photo fully buttoned?I personally tend to wear the coats buttoned😅 And I suppose I am not the only one from your audience who does so. Mango coat is gorgeous, but I didn't get how it looked buttoned 😢
I love this concept! It would save me so much time and headache! Please keep doing it.
I appreciate the effort of trying on all these different coats in the shops instead of ordering and/or buying them just for a video (which is not environment friendly). It's a great format and I'd love to see more videos like these!
Don’t worry! Lydia has tons of clothes… but at a much higher price point. Her stores/ labels are different….🙂…
Yes, structure and wearability as you described, are qualities I also like in a winter coat. Thanks for your video!
These types of videos are very helpful because there are so many choices of coats and it’s hard to choose (especially for those of us in the US who don’t have many of these stores near us).

Love this format of breaking down 1 item! Would love to see a similar breakdown for a class white Oxford/button down shirt
Congratulations Lydia on hitting 800k!!! Very much deserved! I really like the black coats you showed even though we don’t wear coats for long here in CA. it’s warm enough around 0 C degrees. For -0 temperatures, coats are not so suitable regardless the quality, then you should go for an artic jacket designed for extreme weather conditions.
For anyone who’s curious, that COS coat has this fabric composition: 72% Wool / 25% Polyamide / 3% Other fibres
Another great video! Please do another of jeans/leather trousers/metallic jeans + trousers ideas for dressing them up for evenings! X

Go even further and call them knits, your husband will think you are descendant from royalty 😆
And you just said ‘handbags’ instead of ‘purses’, so you’re virtually a Brit now!! 🤩🇬🇧😘
I’d love to see camel colored coats with wool/cashmere blends as well as a video with blazers. I love your style and am sure whatever you present will be fabulous!

Love this style of video! It really helps seeing them tried on. Also really helps seeing several options back to back. Thank you!
Yes more of these please Lydia! Very helpful!
LOVE this! Please do the same with camel coats 🤩
I have my dream black and also a camel color coat from Louis Vuitton. I will wear them forever!
There is a company based in Manchester called Busy Clothing, their coats are beautiful, well made, more structured with nice detail. They retail at £106. I have purchased 3 in black, navy and camel, very satisfied.
I think this would be so helpful Lydia - I really trust your judgement & taste. Thank you so much xx
Haha it's funny this video because I just bought the first coat from mango 😃🥰 I love all the choices!
YES!! More of these please Lydia x

Very useful Lydia, congratulations and thanks 💗 love this format, black trousers, blazer, knits😍
Loved this concept and already ordered the first Mango coat during BF. Would love to see this series with a beige/camel coat. 😊
Loved this format of vlog. Would be great to see one on different denim, especially the wide leg/ slouchy styles.
Congratulazioni on hitting 800 k !! I like so much this concept!
Love me a long coat!! But, am I the only one who feels like the wrap coats without buttons and a belt tie look like bathrobes? 😂 I seriously have done a double take before questioning if someone is actually walking around in a bathrobe before. ❤
Love the last COS one!

Could you do a white T-shirt roundup? Especially for us in the US who don’t have Arket?
Please do a series of (faux) leather pants in all price ranges who look expensive. Lovely for winter and the holidays
Great insights. A video on blazer and trousers would be equally useful.
I struggled today to like Amy of those coats. It’s the belts I think make the coats look all bundled up.
great format!❤ please some information on accessories - belts, earrings, watches...
Great thanks. I have a black tie shawl collar coat so can’t really justify getting another one this year but do love the H&M one
Thank you Lydia! I have wanted to invest in a new coat! Beautiful,!!
O confirm that you should not upsize with Weekday coat. I have a grey version of this, it is gorgeous ❤
Helpful content!! Yes..do it...❤❤Looking for a long black coat with a cool edge..saw several
Thank you so much. Thanks for your trying too, they gave me some good ideas.
I love the white blouse you’re wearing! Anything you can tell us about it?
You can do a video on anything Lydia as long as you don’t forget petites!
Could you do a video for more casual while still chic . I work from home 90% of the time and I’m stuck in a rut and how I want to dress does not match my lifestyle at the moment
I have the Zara one and it feels premium + is really warm.
Thank you, great content and yes this format is very good idea 👍

Could you consider taking at least one photo fully buttoned?I personally tend to wear the coats buttoned😅 And I suppose I am not the only one from your audience who does so. Mango coat is gorgeous, but I didn't get how it looked buttoned 😢
