Look at it this way would your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife like it if you were to go out looking for another person to love? That is just a simplistic way of looking at it just so everyone would understand what I was trying to say, Just remember there is only one true God! Good luck to all

I'm glad you touched on the history of the demonization of Vodou. There was a point in time when every rebellion of enslaved Africans was lead by Vodou priests. In fact, Vodou as a source of motivation and inspiration was directly involved in toppling chattel slavery as an institution.
At the commencement of the Haiti Revolution, we believe the following is the prayer/speech said by the Vodou priest who organized it all, Dutty Boukman (bless his name):
"...This God who made the sun, who brings us light from above, who raises the sea, and who makes the storm rumble. That God is there, hiding in a cloud, He watches us, He sees all that the whites do! The god of the whites pushes them to crime, but He wants us to do good deeds. But the God who is so good orders us to vengeance. He will direct our hands, and give us help. Throw away the image of the god of the whites who thirsts for our tears. Listen to the liberty that speaks in all our hearts."
After this prayer/speech, our Haitian Ancestors went on to defeat the three greatest empires of the day - one after the other. If I was to pray to a god, I will pray to the only God that listened to them.

In physical slavery the chains and the shackles are physical objects that can be seen and felt. Therefore, a slave has no doubt whether he or she is a slave. In mental slavery the shackles and the chains are moved to the brain; which makes mental slavery way more difficult to get out of because the slave no longer realizes that he or she is a slave.
