  • The days are numbered for the F-Type R. Jaguar is moving its whole lineup towards electrification. On the outside you will discover a sleek shape with, 20in wheels quad-type exhaust. On the inside you will be greeted by full leather sport seats, a digital gauge display and some good cargo room. Under the hood is a 5.0L supercharged V8 that pumps out 575HO & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2023 Jaguar F-Type R the performance car you will REGRET not buying?

Anyone who says otherwise is a ding dong. I could have bought many other vehicles. I chose this one. They are special cars for sure. I realized with both my facelift F-Pace SVR and this last F-Type R, you need to permanently disable the exhaust valves (takes only minutes) so it’s always in loud mode to defeat the new noise reduction software that keeps the valves closed even in loud mode at lower RPM, partial throttle and on the overrun. Once you do that, you get all the burbles, pops, grunts and low speed sounds of the pre-facelift cars 😊

    • @whereisthedollar
      @whereisthedollar Год назад +1

      @@whereisthedollar Yup, based on regulations around the globe. Was easier to just do it rather than offer different programming for different markets. With one ECU upgrade, P450 can turn out 600 HP without any hardware upgrades and without straining the existing powertrain setup. I wouldn't chip my P450 RWD, as it would void warranty, but I can see the appeal of chipping the P450 instead of buying the heavier AWD R for $40K less upfront.

Mine is RWD, and it's still crazy fast, and 400 lbs. lighter than the one tested. So it's not necessary to spend $120000. I bought a used '23 with 6500 miles for $68,000, and there are plenty of new examples for $75000-80,000 ish. I also have a '17 V6 RWD with 380 HP, and it's every bit as much fun. Beautiful cars.

    Love how you went on throttle with the speed limit sign of 35 right in front of you. Hahahah 😂

      Would be high due to not being driven apart from around the showroom - I get 30 mpg from my RWD 550 monster

    I've always wanted an F-Type. I just can't deal with the unreliability. I hope this last model does better.

      Jaguar's unreliability went out the window 10+ years ago, unfortunately people still think it's unreliable because of its history.

      Its not unreliable at all. I've had my '17 R for 2 years and she's still in great shape. Since they came out in 2014 F Type's have been pretty reliable

    Shame they programmed out a good deal of the pops and burbles on the overrun when coming off throttle. My 2015 F-Type R is quite a bit more dramatic from that perspective. These are great cars.
