Hi Marion, I am so glad I found your beautiful Channel. I love everything you do. You have such a beautiful place. It's like my dream home. I love how natural you are and unscathed from the media? I don't want you to change from all you do now. I worry that the bigger your channel gets, other's are going to mold you into doing this or that! Saying you should do this or that. I guess I myself am doing that! I don't want you to change anything! I love your video's. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful life. I live alone and your channel brings me great peace and joy. Take care.
Thank you for your message Shelly. I'm so happy that my channel is growing. It's surprised me though. I think maybe I'm too old to be molded! I just like doing what I like doing... I do hope it can lead to something though. What that might be.. I've no idea yet...
Once again... a kindred spirit. I do this all summer long and fill the bowl as summer ambles on. I also collect any bought roses and dry them upside down
Marion, you live in a little bit of heaven. This garden is so beautiful because you have poured your heart and soul into it over the years. It thrives because of you, and became hardy to cheer you on once you were ready to venture out again. Plants feel your emotions and they are so glorious because of you and your tender care of each and every plant. The birds are a true joy. I wish I had such a place to live. At least I get to see it and feel it through your sharing. The authentic soul that you are; so tender and kind but also so strong, and willing to carry on and explore what's inside of you by what you create. That is a great power you have brought into the world and you treat your talents with honor, as should be. Thank you so much. I continue to learn, and feel so much joy watching your channel, and the peaceful way that you live.
Hi Marion...what a lovely peaceful garden you have. I was feeling that I'm with you there. Your lavender wands came at a time where I was thinking of making some. Your variety you have makes such lovely buds. Mine is a bit scraggly looking😂.going to try anyway. The 🐝 🐝 are not going to be happy with me taking their honey source away.😅 still catching up on all your videos but just loving them. Thanks for sharing your world with us.❤
Hi, Marion. It was lovely sitting in the garden with you just now. You inspire me to fill my days as you do, finding joy in little things. I’m happy with all the little things I got done today. Variety is the spice. Thank you for another joy-filled video.
Hi Marion! I leaned something from you today, the sweet wrapping of the lavenders! Just in time, mine is in full bloom. i’ll wrap some to give and to keep. Thank you for showing us. I’m very glad you make videos, you spread happiness! I’m waiting to see what you’re going to do with the dried up rose petals. Your garden is full of life and beauty! Thanks for showing us. 🌷tess
Thank you Tess. Yes, they're a lovely thing to make now and add into birthday or Christmas presents. Or just to give to someone to brighten their day with a homemade gift.
Really enjoyed watching you make the Lavender bundle/bottle. I made one over 40 years ago but couldn't remember how to make it! Thank you for sharing your magical garden! ❤🎉❤
I still have my lavender bottle - my one & only - that I made from a lavender bush I grew in the back yard, from instructions that I followed in an Australian Women’s Weekly back around 1996 or so, since I had to sell that house back in 1998. My lavender bottle is really more wand-like (thinner), but it has lasted well & still has some scent. I think these little lavender things are fabulous! 💐 I have lavender bags that were gifted to me over 50 years ago, & they all still have some scent left. Some have lace on them, some have crochet doilies & ribbon roses etc - really pretty, little things. 🌹 I keep meaning to make one of those potpourri mixes with dried orange slices in them. I have to get around to it - too many projects to do, & at present my priority is the two rugs/quilts I am slow stitching for two of my sons, in a kind of boro/strippy kind of way.
I sat down today to rewatch this video to try to make my sister a lavender wand using lavender she had given me from her garden in the summer. Oh dear, I should've made it the minute I brought the lavender home... It has been sitting drying all those months, and when I bent the stems down over the cluster of flowers, each one just snapped right off😢 Oh, well, I'll strip the flowers and make her an embroidered lavender sachet instead. But now I know for next year to make them from fresh lavender👍😍 This is a beautiful video, Marion. It gave me great pleasure to watch you in your summer garden while outside it is a grey day in late autumn. The smell of the dried lavender in my hands has also lifted my mood💕
If you've still got some lavender left try soaking them in warm water for a while to see if they'll become pliable again. They're definitely better to use freshly picked stems though.. A lavender sachet will be beautiful too..!
@marionsworld24 how kind of you to reply, Marion. I didn't think to try soaking the stems. But that's another little tip I have up my sleeve to try if need be in the future. I've already stripped all the stems she gave me, so it's too late to try with this particular lavender, but not to worry. As you say, a sachet is lovely too💕
Uh oh, I lost my comment… I now learned that the comment disappears if you don’t post it before the video goes on to the next one 🙃 Anyway I was saying that I have never had anyone teach me about gardening and stitching etc (apart from a sewing class at school) so most things are learn as I go, which you do also. I so appreciate you and having you as a mentor! Love the garden, the stitching, the chat, everything! Thank you! 💕Donna
I'm doing them as quilt as you go. The hexiform acts as the batting. Although I have made lots of quilts I wasn't ever interested in hexies. All that basting and papers etc.... But quilt as you go has totally changed my mind. Because each little hexagon is its' own little quilt! They're great!
I don't mind that you make or doing things I already know. Maybe it is the reason I like your videos. You make the same things I do and do the things I do. It is lovely to see there are more people living about the same way I live. The lavenderwand smell good after many years. I used more flowers, about 50 or so, and take 2 stems over and under the ribbon. The tablerunner is very nice. I love that you use all the small pieces of fabric and make something new with them.
Thank you so much. Yes, I've been amazed at how many people have said they also do these things. I just didn't know that many people at all. It's amazing that I can now connect with everyone through my channel... it's wonderful! I'm so pleased you're enjoying it all 💕
Marion, I've often how those lavender bottles were made & now thanks to you I know. My neighbor has lavender, so maybe she will give me some. Thank you for the demo. Have a blessed day 🌈💛🙏💛🌈
Lavender bottles are something I’ve not made for years thank you for reminding me how to make them 👍🏻I imagine your workshop is very relaxing and joyful.
Dear Marion, thank you for your willingness to share your skills and art.And I also feel so nice and comfortable in your world. Your craft is amazing and inspiring. Love from Russia. 😘☀️
Thank you Ira. Amazing you're watching me from Russia... I'm constantly taken aback that my little channel finds people from all over the world that love sewing as much as I do... Thank you so much 💐😊
Thank you for sharing your garden. The dried flower petals are so pretty in your basket. I like the lavender bottles. I haven't made any for ages, so the reminder is timely. The hexi forms are game changing. I like the look of hexagons but haven't been inspired to cut out the papers. 😂
I could never bring myself to spend the time cutting papers and baste them in, only to have to pull it all out after they were sewn together. Plus you still have to make a quilt sandwich as well....
Your video offered a delightful break in my day. But now I must go out into my garden and gather some lavender to create my own lavender bundles. Thank you for a timely lesson !
Thanks for another peek into Marion’s Wonderful World!! Everything that you have gathered around you is interesting-finding the extraordinary in the ordinary- it’s an art form!!! Although it’s difficult to think of a rose as “ ordinary “?!!! But you get my meaning!!?
Thank you for the tutorial on how to make these lovely lavender wands! I've seen them before but never knew how. I'll be making some since I have lots in my garden and these are so much prettier than just making little bags. Also I love your little hexies and such a great use for bits and pieces of old embroidery. Blessings to you for sharing so much. ♥
Thank you for sharing Marion’s world . I’ve never seen lavender bottles such a great idea. I’m a hexie fan .I’ve made many quilts and given up on random 😂 I just can’t do it so I make hexie flowers or specific patterns .I look forward to your next video
I have never seen that done! A lovely idea!! I just stripped lavender leaves from stalks to dry, then making little bags w/ tulle n filling w/ lavender tying off w/ ribbon n use them for the same thing. Yours are so much prettier! Ty for showing us how to create Lavender Bottles, Marion
I have never heard of or seen lavender wands. I love lavender and they are beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us. I have been “binging” on your videos and loving them -Toni in Texas
Hi Marion, Lovely to see your beautiful garden you have done so much it is beautiful! Your roses! They are my favourite flower especially yellow roses yours look very healthy and happy. I really enjoyed how you showed us the Lavendar I have always wanted to learn how to do that as I have lavendar in my garden near the veges that we are growing which brings the bees who I dearly love too. I do like your hexie table runner EPP is so much fun to do isnt it? Thank You for sharing. Enjoy your weekend. TLC
As I come from more or less the same neck of the woods as you, I’m surprised that I’ve never seen this before. They will make lovely little gifts for friends and family. Thank you for the great tutorial. Keep them coming.
Thanks. I honestly thought everyone knew how to make these as Grandma showed my sister and I when we were little and we made them every year. They're lovely in your smalls drawer or hung in the wardrobe ..☺️
Thank you for the variety of crafts you show. I’ve always wanted to use lavender but didn’t know how to make the lavender bottles. Now that it is December, I love visiting your garden in June.
Hello Marion I recently found your channel. I’m from South Africa. I have been binge watching from your first one! I just love the variety of crafts that you are showing us. Thank you so much it is so interesting.
Haven't made hexies like this for years since in a class over 20 years ago I made two bags - which are well used and are so easy to wash. (I always attach fabric handles for easy laundering!). During that time I went to a local exhibition and saw a quilt made in the same way. So beautiful. I've never seen lavender bottles before but they look so much prettier than a lavender bag. Thanks for your demo Marion 😊
I love the rose,s Queen of Sweden and Shropshire Lad, but all of the flowers are beautiful. Such a pretty space Marion. That is the first time Ive seen lavender wands. It is lovely that these traditional crafts are still around. That is what Im doing with the hexies so that it alleviates the need for a backing. Such a good idea and a good way of using up bits of embroideries. A relaxing way of stitching that you can pick up and put down. I use a silver grey thread. We have a lot in common. TFS x
You know Mary...I thought everyone knew about lavender wands. Or lavender bottles as Grandma called them. She showed my sister and I how to make them when we were little. Yes, no need to quilt and back the hexies when you're making them qayg.... It's perfect!
Good morning Marian and thank you for another lovely treat today. It’s so relaxing watching you create beautiful things as you’re so natural in front of the camera, you also explain everything clearly. Your garden is a feast for the eyes. I’m off on a hunt for some lavender now! ❤️
Another lovely day in your world. I am off out into the garden to cut some lavender and try these bottles/wands. I remember I tried it many years ago without much success but now I have your tutorial I should be ok!! Many thanks.
I love the lavender instructions for either laying somewhere or hanging. Thanks so much for sharing with us out here in the USA. Love your rose garden, wish this was a "smell" tube. 💕 😂 I also love the Hexie you are working on, something I have wanted to do for a long time. Was not aware of the shape you could buy, so am going to hunt some down and give this a try also. You are filling my head with so many ideas, just love listening to you talk about your life and crafts.
Hi! I have always wanted to learn how to make those bottles, thank you so much for sharing. I am so happy I found your channel; you are certainly a wealth of knowledge! Thank you again for sharing!
I can do Cynthia. Although I'm sure there are plenty of tutorials out there. I'll see how everything goes with all the other projects... It's probably going to be taking a back seat once I start the winning project from the vote!
I am now going to make sure I have some lavender for next year Marion! What a delightful thing to make with it! And, I also saw a more recent video about a fusion quilt. Unfortunately my old sewing machine is being reconditioned (hopefully) but won’t be ready for about 6/7 weeks! So I was looking through videos of making patchwork quilts and saw what you are making here - and they are done by hand. I am so impatient that I think I will try making some of these shaped patchwork pieces. No idea what I will use it for, if I can do it, but a table cloth might be an idea. And at least then I can be kept busy for a while until my machine comes back. Also, if the machine is considered irrepairable I can just continue adding to it to make my single bed quilt! My mind is racing ahead of me and I am thinking of fusion crochet with these shapes, but I think that would be too complicated and a big step too far! So enjoying your videos, you are a star and do not realise it! Thank you as always for your inspiration! ❤
These little hexies are very addictive to stitch. Here's the video about what I made with them. ruclips.net/video/EYo8GoPsD8o/видео.htmlsi=MGwxtUMfYqVpQ887
Yes, definitely harder than you expect. It's like making a garden look naturalistic.. Quite often it takes more work to keep things looking slightly wild, than to just prune everything neatly!
That's so lovely to say Stacy. I do need to start earning something, but at the moment I'm just not sure how that will work. Originally I was going to start a website, but I got sidetracked by joining in with the Hundred Day Stitchbook. And ...well.. it's all gone on a different track now. I never would have thought to start a RUclips channel... yet here I am!
I love your designs & tutorials. There is not anything you don't know how to do. Did you participate in the Great British Design Challenge? If I recall correctly, you designed a room for a little girl. I was so amazed at what you could do in such a short amount of time on a limited budget. Have you written a book with your patterns?
Oh my goodness! No I've not done anything like that I'm afraid... Until I started my channel last year I didn't even show my things outside of family and a couple of friends... I didn't realise anyone would be interested.. So no books, no exhibitions, nothing but me sitting in my room crafting away ☺️
The roses are wonderful. They actually do very well here in the Arizona desert as long as they are watered deeply, however aphids are a huge problem. I had a couple of my mother-in-laws tea roses and I tried to keep them going bit the aphids took over and won. I did save some petals to dry. The lavender bottles are great, I’ve never seen them before. I wonder if I can grow lavender in Arizona?
Dear Marion, such a cleaver way to get our drawers smelling good. Would lavender bunch shown here keep the moths out of my fabric closet? Thanks again you're very clever lady. Sue From USA
I love this hexie runner you are making. It is a great way to do it and cleaner finish than the old way. I want to make one!!!! Tell me more about the center piece, what do they call it, what is it made of so I can try to find it on the internet to buy them.
There's a video all about making the completed table runner and there's a link to the place I bought the Hexiform from...ruclips.net/video/EYo8GoPsD8o/видео.htmlsi=Sypx5nTWqXhlNgML
I love roses, but here in the midwest of the US we are plagued by Japanese beetles that devour my roses so I have given up. At least I can enjoy yours.
I've had to look up about the beetle. I hadn't heard of them before. They sound like they're hard to control.. I'll be planting some new roses over the winter. I can't imagine not having any...
I've started them to make confetti for when Naomi gets married.😂 She's not even engaged yet, but these things take time so I thought I'd just start and see how much I could make. A couple of years worth should make quite a lot as I have so many roses ☺️

I agree! It's like sitting with a friend and having a cuppa when watching Marion sew, garden or cook. You are an angel 🌷
You took the words right outta my mouth. Such a lovely channel. So glad I found you Marion. xx
A great craft to teach my grandchildren, lavender wands. Thanks, Marion ❤
I have always wanted to learn how to make the lavender wands and now, thanks to you, I no longer wonder. They’re so pretty and smell so nice. ❤️

Another lovely video Marion. I can almost smell the roses and lavender in your beautiful garden 😊

You know Mary...I thought everyone knew about lavender wands. Or lavender bottles as Grandma called them. She showed my sister and I how to make them when we were little.
Yes, no need to quilt and back the hexies when you're making them qayg.... It's perfect!
I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m from Texas, United States
Hello to Texas from the North East of England..
A lovely wander round your garden and you know the names of your roses. I’ve got a few but have difficulty remembering theirs! 🥀😊
Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge. It is amazing how knowledgeable you are. ❤
Because I'm old I've had plenty of time to learn 😅
Loved this! Thanks for showing us how to make the lavender bunches.
You're very welcome..
Good morning Marian and thank you for another lovely treat today. It’s so relaxing watching you create beautiful things as you’re so natural in front of the camera, you also explain everything clearly. Your garden is a feast for the eyes. I’m off on a hunt for some lavender now! ❤️
Let me know where your upcoming course is and I’ll pop along
I'm pleased you liked it Susan. My sister and I learned how to make them when we were little. I thought everyone knew how to make them...
Oh..that would be lovely! It's on 4th. July at a place called Roseworth near Stockton. It's on behalf of Tees Valley Wildlife Trust
4th July or August? Have I missed you? I hope not as that’s close for me.
@@susanbeattie9333 4th. August. Sorry Susan. My mistake 😊
Another lovely day in your world. I am off out into the garden to cut some lavender and try these bottles/wands. I remember I tried it many years ago without much success but now I have your tutorial I should be ok!! Many thanks.
I'm sure you'll be fine Catherine... Enjoy making them..
Ooh.. you're watching an oldie 😊
Well..old considering I've only had my channel 6 months! I'm happy you enjoyed it...
You have the most amazing hobbies ❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏
😅
Hi! I have always wanted to learn how to make those bottles, thank you so much for sharing. I am so happy I found your channel; you are certainly a wealth of knowledge! Thank you again for sharing!
☺️
Beautiful video !!! Thank you for sharing 🪡🧵♥️
Love your garden! Ive never heard of a lavendar wand! Lovely ❤
Well I never!
Never seen these before Marion I will defintely be trying this out thanks for the sharing.
This is the perfect time of year!
Your talent never ends marion, the lavender wands are a great idea, i adore the smell of lavender also.
It's so good! Especially in your 'smalls' drawer and in among the sheets and towels...
I love the tour of your beautiful garden. thank you for reminding me about the lavender sticks, I made them many moons ago.
That's lovely. Some people had never heard about them before...😊
This is a super idea wth t lavender x thanks Marion x x
Always a delight to look round your enchanted garden. Never seen those lavender wands before though, very pretty.
Would you think about doing a thorough tutorial on the way you're doing the hexies?? Please and thanks ❤
I can do Cynthia. Although I'm sure there are plenty of tutorials out there. I'll see how everything goes with all the other projects... It's probably going to be taking a back seat once I start the winning project from the vote!
No worries! I understand 👍
Your garden is magical
🌿☺️
I’ve never come across those lavender bottles either!
You'll have to make some this summer..

Beautiful flowers. Will give the lavender a go. And you’re right about the scrappy, every time I try to just random pick it doesn’t work for me ❤
Yes, definitely harder than you expect. It's like making a garden look naturalistic.. Quite often it takes more work to keep things looking slightly wild, than to just prune everything neatly!
I had forgotten this thank you
Thank you Martin. Wonderful tutorial!!!! I’ll be making these this summer. They will be great little presents.
Excellent!
I enjoy watching you making the lavender bottles And your daily crafting ,cooking etc have a wonderful day
Thank you Linda.
Loved seeing you make scones with grated butter
It's a good method ☺️
What a lovely idea!!
hoooo!!!votre jardin c'est une beauté!!!!Mme Marion!!!
☺️🌿🌸🌿
Hi ,I missed this one! Will be making me one or two this one.thank you
☺️👍💐
Fabulous garden 🌻🌷🪻⚘️🦋🌺🐦🐦⬛
Thank you Carolyn. It's a bit overgrown at the moment but there's all sorts in it. I used to be a proper plantaholic!
I have made lavender wands before and also sewed hexagons but I learned something new about both. You are really amazing and I love listening to you.
That's brilliant. Thank you for letting me know.
Dearest Marion, if you ever sell your little lavender bundles, id love to support you. xx
That's so lovely to say Stacy. I do need to start earning something, but at the moment I'm just not sure how that will work. Originally I was going to start a website, but I got sidetracked by joining in with the Hundred Day Stitchbook. And ...well.. it's all gone on a different track now. I never would have thought to start a RUclips channel... yet here I am!
that was cool,
Thank you
So talented❤
Lavender is from the mountains of the Mediterranean, so they like hot and dry.... Sounds like a possibility....🤔
Dear Marion, such a cleaver way to get our drawers smelling good.
Would lavender bunch shown here keep the moths out of my fabric closet?
Thanks again you're very clever lady.
Sue
From USA
It all helps, but I wouldn't say I'd rely on them to keep the moths out..
@ I am open to all your wisdom can offer? Thanks

What do you do with all the dried rose petals when they are ready?
I've started them to make confetti for when Naomi gets married.😂 She's not even engaged yet, but these things take time so I thought I'd just start and see how much I could make. A couple of years worth should make quite a lot as I have so many roses ☺️
What type of lavender is that Marion?
It's ordinary English lavender.. Any type will work though...
