Who would have thought that one eighteen year-old geek with a guitar could become such a fabulous star, alone on a massive stage with a massive audience, in 1960-2020+? Brilliant career. I’m learning Apache. Many congratulations Hank.
Well... I understand your enthusiasm... BUT he's not really 'alone on massive stage'... He has a whole orchestra backing him! But I won't dispute that he is playing in front of a massive audience, nor that he deserves it! Nor yet that he has had a 'brilliant career'... And I wish you well in your attempt to learn 'Apache'... I've learned it already, a few years ago... but I must say that if I don't practice it regularly all those triplets still give me gyp! Good luck, mate... from the Wonderful Land of Oz... 😊
I met Hank in the Jazz Bar in Northbridge Perth Western Australia....my lifelong ambition was wonderful....shook his hand and thought that was it but he stayed and chatted to me and I shall always regret never getting a photograph....a legend!!!!
Even after all these years I will never tire of listening to Hank play Apache. I not only love his guitar technique but the sheer joy on his face when he plays his Fender Axe! Absolutely the best.

Since 1965, I have been listening to Hank Marvin playing guitar. His melody touches the deepest core of our hearts. I call his brand of music as ' soft melody'. Hank Marvin is simply par excellence.
It's like he's romancing his guitar all around the stage. It's really captivating to watch someone who is totally into his craft. I've listened to this song since I was a young boy in the early 60s, and it is as fresh and as enjoyable today as it was way back then. Thank you, Hank Marvin!
he got several guitars - severa Fender Strat - that particular one is most likely a late 50ies model. Most great guitar players have one of these pre 1970 ones - they are unmatched till today.
I doubt very much he uses only one guitar. The one he’s most famous for is still owned by Cliff and is (I believe) in Bruce’s possession. It’s a 1959 Fender. He influenced so many big names in music with the ‘voice’ he gave to his guitars. I love his smile, he’s my husband’s cousin and it’s the same smile.

So happily surprised that I know this song from my youth! I enjoyed his short performance on stage with Dire Straits, playing Going Home with Mark Knopfler, and hearing that Marvin was a huge inspiration to Mark's guitar passion.
