tips but i recommend watching whole video for details :
    - learn to love yourself
-invest in moisturizing products and include deep conditioning in ur routine
    -detangle hair with CAREEEE
-trim your hair bit by bit
-protective style like CRAZYY, don’t want ur hair out too much
-the best routine you can have for transitioning/ big chop details : wash , detangle, blow out , protective style
basically to top it off make sure ur hair is moisturized , detangled properly and leave it alone

I'm transitioning for 1 year next week after having my hair relaxed since i was 8, I am now 23. It's been tough styling my hair professionally for work and i am avoiding heat but pushing through hope to have descent length by end of the year as i have shoulder length now. Never had an issue growing long hair when I was relaxed just wish to grow faster now that im transitioning. I have 3b hair

    Texture: 4b
    Porosity: Normal
    Density: Medium
Routine: 13 months post relaxer. Started seeing a hair stylist 13 months ago, and been styling my hair in a protective style ever since the beginning of transitioning. Cornrows every 4-5 weeks done by my hair stylist. I always take my cornrows down 3-4 days before salon visits for a good home wash, detangle, and treatment ( protein & DC ). Blow dry and flat iron, but I only flat ironed 4 times in 2022.
    Transitioning: 13 month
Needed these TIPS, thank you Janet! I just lack on trims, which I will incorporate more this year, every two months

I've been transitioning for 8months and it will be 9 by Wednesday, my hair has been in cornrows and I just took my cornrows out on Monday after two months and a week, I keep my cornrows for at least a month, I just finished my exams so now I can get braids but I don't plan on getting braids anytime soon I'll probably do cornrows by Thursday I washed on Friday and I'm actually so confused on how to detangle my hair I've just been massaging my scalp the thought of detangling is giving me a headache😭 I'm sorry for the long message but this video makes me feel like I've found a big sister to help me out it was so informative, I've been relaxed forever I had really healthy long relaxed hair but I want to embrace my natural curls, I'm 4c and I have Low porosity.

    Thanks!!!

Hey lovely! You can use a low heat setting if you are conscious of damage, as for washing it truly depends on how your hair feels in this state I would try every 2 weeks and adjust if you feel your hair is too greasy or dry 💞

    Hello
I do not like protective styles. But what I do is shampoo my hair moisture and put in leave in conditioner and then apply with olive oil. I then braid it myself and keep a plastic cap on my hair while I am at home or even leave plastic cap when I sleep.
Am I doing the right thing?

If it works for you keep doing it. From what you saying you are still protective styling with your own hair. There's no right or wrong in any natural hair journey as long as your hair cooperates with your routine, that's all that matters. I hope this helps

Hi I started transitioning 2 months ago so yes this video is for me! I have incorporated natural products into my hair care. Not sure of my porosity because I have relaxed and natural hair. The strand test suggests I’m low porosity but my hair doesn’t take long to dry nor does it resist water so other than my hair strand floating on top of the water all other things suggest high porosity hair. Basically I don’t know. Frustration #1. Hair type at least 3 different types fine and wavy at the nap, very tight and kinky at the crown, again basically I don’t know. Frustration #2. Density is medium. My current favorite leave in is Camille Rose Fresh Curl. Right now I co-wash mid week, starting with a pre-poo of onion & garlic oil, I’ll co-wash using a suave non sulfate moisturizing conditioner. I’ve been using olaplex 3 to aide in strengthening my weaken hair bonds from relaxing, I then deep condition using Kera kare with humectant and I add honey and a different oil such as olive or avocado oil to it and sit under a heat cap for 45 mins to an hour. I pre-poo 3 days later, use a moisturizing shampoo, the apply a strengthening or conditioning treatment such as henna gloss or alma and aloe vera, and I’ll deep condition again. I moisturize and seal my hair daily or every other day using distilled water, Camille rose fresh curl, and carols daughter coco cream, which gives me maaaad moisture I love that combination for my hair. I recently switched to those products because what I was using as my leave-in wasn’t moisturizing my hair enough. I also use a scalp massager everyday or at least every other day.
