“Stop cutting your hair”....I needed to see this yesterday. I hear you sis!!
I needed this years ago
I needed this cause it’s like my hair is staying at shoulder length cause I feel like the just cut my whole new growth off but I’m getting into protective styles now
Need this last night
I can’t seem to find my comment but I was here 3months ago and yess I’m seeing progress in my hair this video really helped!!😁
YAS queen!! Growth
I never understood the obsession with cutting these invisible split ends every month in the natural hair community. probably why so many naturals hair is stuck at the same length
They cut more than they grow
I just snip off single strand knots.
chinnie New Subscriber
Xarii Fernandes I have this and dnt know how to get rid of them
@cutei pie
I’m sorry but there is no actual way to completely get rid of them. Same with spilt ends, they are just always gonna come back or happen.
You can prevent them tho. Make sure to put oil or grease on your ends, it lubricates them so they’re easier to untangle. Try to keep hair in protective styles like twists, braids, cornrows and buns. I don’t recommend puffs, wash and gos or twist/braid outs often cuz it allows you’re hair to knot up and tangle with each other of its self.
Keep hair stretched as well, whether you braid it, band it or even low heat blow drying, it keeps your strands elongated so their not shrunken and can easily tangle with each other.
Even though she said what she said above, I still think you should trim your hair. If I see or encounter a single strand knot, I always cut it out and don’t rip it out bcuz that can cause the end of that strand to split.
Edit: grammatical corrections
When my hair was relaxed and I went to the hair stylist every month to get it redone or treatment I used to HATE them for trimming my hair. My hair was growing and yes i had split ends but trimming every month whatever I growth I had was gone. I honestly think some hair stylists low key don’t want your hair to be longer than theirs 🤣
The couldn't tell me nothing. I barely wash my hair, I don't treat it nor cut it and it grows.... I'm going back natural now, I'm not doing the big chop and my hair is growing fast.
Alecia Hall you should wash your hair every 2-4 weeks to ensure your hair is clean
Some hair stylist are like that for real. I went to one stylist for a protective style and she hurt my hair bad. I had to chop it all off and start over again.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣really?
Yup!
I HAVE BEEN TELLING PEOPLE FOREVER TO STOP CUTTING YOUR HAIR! THANK YOU!!! THIS WHOLE VIDEO IS LIFE! Good job, baby girl.👑
My daughter actually said, "Your hair will grow if you stop cutting it." The simplest, realist advice for serious growth.
It literally never made sense to ne I never did that
“But I saw this youtuber with a relaxer and her hair was long...but clearly YOU DONT” 😂 I’m definitely subscribing not only cause of that but I needed to be scolded for the way I treat my hair 😭 thank you
I be trying to tell them that our hair is a plant we need WATER!!! Forget all them other moisturizing product. Water water water water 💦
Yes sis PERIODT
Sazshae Mills like washing or just spraying?
@@ashleyzvavanjanja3664 You can just spray water on your hair often, like every day or whatever suits your hair
My hair will dry out if I just put water lmao
My hair will get really nappy if I just add water like it will basically die and dry if I put water in it and let it sit without doing anything 😂🤣🤣😭🤣😭😭🤣🤣
This video is revolutionary. Sis said do you know what split ends looks like on black people hair. Lordt I do not. Majority of these hair schools are built my Caucasian specialists. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

So i got heat damage last july due to a remy installment for graduation , so being the lovely girl that i am , i decided to do my research since i oh so loved my hair from the time i was a child till now when im a teenager , so i heard from a friend to cut a little bit of the heat damage at a time

So now i walking around with short patched hair on the left side of my head and long hair to the back

"Relaxed hair is not healthy hair, PERIOD!" Yessssss!!!!!! I see videos talking avoyr how to get healthy relaxed hair, I'm like.....how sway???? How???? Those two words cancel out each other
Monique Morris
How can something “not healthy” grow 6-8 inches a year and retain length? My sister has permed hair and it’s been flourishing 🤷🏾♀️
@@NBnNC if your scalp isn't damaged, there is no reason it shouldn't grow. Breakage is the reason why it seems to not grow. As for the healthy thing.....its like saying you can have healthy heat damage. Your curl pattern is literally broken, so all that length is still damaged. If she doesn't care, that's fine. She gotta do what she wants. It's her hair
Monique Morris New Sub
The same way you can have healthy coloured hair.
It's about controlled damage. You have to balance enough chemical processing to remove the curl pattern/colour while keeping hair strength, volume and shine.
@@RedFlyingFox007 Damaged hair is hair that has been broken/altered from it's original curl pattern. You can have color without color damage. Ive seen people keep their curl pattern with color. You can't have permed hair without damaged hair. The hair is literally broken that's how it becomes permed. You have to destroy it. It can still be long though if you have hair thick/strong enough to withstand the damage.
But on a real note. Out of all the RUclips videos I watched on this subject, y’all are finally getting through to me that I have to moisturize my hair. Cause I can’t even lie, I protective style & don’t touch my sis until 2 months later 💀 then wonder why she broken af.
Lol. I've been doing this lately and know better. 🤦♀️
Girl me too
This the one!!
FRRR 😭😭
Agree that relaxers are damaging. Relaxed my hair for years and all I did was fight thin and balding hair. Finally cut it all off and went natural and my hair started growing like wild. I’m about four months in and what a difference!! No more thin hair. No balding. I discovered I have 4c hair but I’m not complaining. It’s finally thick healthy and growing. I’m just focused on growing longer hair so this video is great. Only wish I had the sense to do it a long time ago! Thanks for sharing. The water tip is very helpful.
Why would you complain because you have 4c hair??
Lemme take my iron pills so I can stop shivering
lolitaspeach wait😭... I don’t know whether i should laugh or not!
😂😂
lolitaspeach girl yes! My hair grew long as hell before I cut off four inches last year and realized it was the damn iron I was taking that boosted my growth
Samantha Sosa got prescribed some by my doctor lol required to take them everyday fingers crossed
lolitaspeach you’ll see the growth after a few months. I have iron-deficiency anemia but I get constipated from iron pills (TMI sorry) so I take the liquid supplement
That's a whole melanin queen right there 🌹
"IM A GIRL WHO IS OBSESSED WITH HAIR" Who feels the same way?♡I know I do ♡♡
Read that the same time she said it
After reading the comments, I feel like it is important to note that while you shouldn't be scissor happy you still shouldn't avoid trims like it is the plague. At a certain point we have to worry about the health of our hair as opposed to length. Your hair may be long, but if the ends of your hair are see-through, thin, jagged, and are making all sorts of W~y-shapes, what's the point? And it isn't that hard to spot single strand knots or split ends either. Just give the hair a blowout and feel the ends of your hair. If they are rough and see through snip, snip. Also, if you have 4c hair, you shouldn't be trimming your hair in it's natural shruken state anyway. If you do that you'll never get an even cut(just speaking from experience). The longer you wait to trim your hair, the more hair you will inevitably need to cut off in the long run.
I'm personally snipping nothing! I am very happy with my hair as it is! :)
What u end up having to cut really ends up being equivalent. It’s no point in blowing it out all the time to check for that. It’s counterproductive since you’re damaging your hair by blowing it out and could just trim when you’re comfortable with the length.
I agree with you, I have healthy well growing natural hair and it did not grow as beautifully, until I started trimming my ends...If it's making you look like a kitty cat on the surface and you can see the sun through it despite it being really thick - it's not hair sis - it's ends!
you didn't listen to what she said.
@@Dree03 What u end up cutting off is not the equivalent. How split ends work is that they travel up the hair shaft. One strand of hair can have 1-6 splits up to the root. I have seen naturals with really long hair, but ends that were so see-through they have to cut off half their length. They had to do a whole big chop.
i lost it at "TELL THEM TO DROP THEIR ADDRESS CAUSE I WANNA FIGHT THEM"

Idk, I guess it depends on locality but I know more and more women transitioning from natural to texlax hair 🤷🏾♀️. At least they gave it a shot - I know I did for seven long tedious years🤦🏾♀️
NB in DC I can definitely understand anyone’s frustration will be natural for 6 years on 4/14/20 and my hair is only (maybe was because I been in a protective style for 4 weeks) apl stretched. Me and my hair are just beginning to talk to each other.

@@Amatullah.574 not true.. I started struggling with my weight in my youth.
Your not lying. I think my hairs not growing because I suffer from anemia (low in iron) and I stopped taking my supplements for more than 3 years, my hairs really struggling to grow long.
My iron use to be low but by consciously eating the right foods in a greater quantity my hair is thriving very well. Spinach, kale , beans, lentils are great for your hair. Check the packaging of the foods that you eat make sure that the iron level is 5% and above. xoxo

Same my hair really hates coconut oil and every video I watched was like but coconut oil 🙄
Coconut oil is high in protein. Some people’s hair doesn’t respond well to too much protein. Try jojoba oil. It’s much closer to the sebum our scalps naturally produce. A bit expensive tho (if you get the pure form).

How do you do that
You know I just love the fact sis giving us these great points and she got her reason to back it up like...yasssss girl
Split ends are not white. The white bulb means it came directly from the scalp. A split end is the ends split literally. Curlier hair hides it better but you can tell by the way the ends feel and misbehave. You can also tell by looking at the ends of your hair😉
You are right sis , they hid so well yesterday I found them oh gosh I had to trim those ends like the hair was splitting like literally splitting I had a fright oh my life I've never experienced it that way . As a newly natural woman I almost fainted !
My hair looks and feels like cotton on the ends when I need a trim. Just bushy af!
Girl I can literally see my split ends. Idk whaaaaat she's talking about lol
@@shawnsmith1272 yup great inclination you need a trim when the ends don't stay defined 💯
@@SunnySideUp712 Right I was completely lost when she said that because I was like let me find out I got a super power that I'm the only one that can see split ends 😂 Even when she said the other hair styles you can see the white bulb, that's when I knew she was really confused because that's a shed hair and we all have white bulbs. That's how you can tell it came from the root and didn't just break off randomly on a strand💯

Thank you so much for the point about relaxers. My parents used to relax my hair as a child and my scalp would always have damage from relaxers, my hair would start breaking off after a few months. I used to think there was something wrong with me. Two years ago I went natural and let me tell you my natural hair is so thick and curly. Thank you sis
She’s so smart. I just subscribed, I love people who use facts to back up their statements🤍
Honestly though! As soon as I stopped listening to people my hair started GROWINGGGGGGH
I am relaxed currently and it’s my second time around being relaxed and transitioning to natural. In my experience my hair has grown to mid back length while relaxed, HOWEVER after 5 years of relaxing, my hair is starting to thin and grow slowly. Even though I relax 2x yearly and I under process, I find that my hair grows best without heat, colouring or relaxing. Can’t wait to be natural again, I want to feel free!
I shaved my head last night, 3 months after I relaxed my hair. My hair changed dramatically after the chemicals got to it. I had to start over. I'm so happy to see my curls again. #LilFroGang

This happened to my hair so badly two weeks ago because I was adding product that keeps it curly but not twisting it, moisturizing it or sitting it under a bonnet. So I bought a bonnet this week, castor oil, and twisted it up wet with Cantu Natural Hair Conditioning creamy hair lotion, Sky Organic Organic Castor oil and shea moisture leave in detangler this week past. Not a knot in sight. Hair is still moisturized. I touch it up with the castor oil around the scalp, ends and edges every couple of days. I need a spray bottle for water though.

I love you, your face doesn’t bother me at all! I was guided her to get an answer to my unspoken question! Thank you!
This video is literally so helpful. I’ve been doing this all wrong.
I’ve never heard any1 so smart, thank you.
She is so cute. She reminds me of my daughter🥰
Just stumbled on this channel. She is very informed about the stages of hair growth. What a beautiful and funny queen!
This is such an informative channel -- thank you so much!
I can’t take my eyes off her crown 👸🏽 she’s a queen ❤️❤️🙌🏽
I was thinking I could see you with your own hair care line and right when I was thinking that you mentioned your website & I was like “yaaassss I’m gonna support!” 💕
I enjoyed watching this thank you 😊😊😊😊 I also had to cut my relaxed hair and start all over again and I’m loving the growth and process 😊😊😊
Omg you're so cute. Subscribed. I love how unique you are and just adorable. And I really appreciate you truly breaking this down. It's a video actually worth watching. ♥️♥️♥️
Soooo many of these tips make so much since but I’ve just never thought about. Especially the water one. I used to wet my hair every other day my senior year of high school and it THRIVED.
Your eyes are so beautiful. And your voice is so soothing, I usually don’t watch videos all the way, but I couldn’t leave lol
28 seconds in and she already convinced me to sub❤
This makes so much sense. I just washed my hair and detangled it and so much broke off I cried. 😭
Currently on my transition to get back to natural! So I am taking notes down.... literally got like maybe 1.5 inches of relaxed hair left but now I am comfortable in growing and caring for my hair! Thanks for this info 🙏🏾
Exactly. I have various hair type on my head and I can tell that the hair which suffer the most when I was not cutting the splits ends and knots was the 4c. I was struggling with my 4c because of that and I wasn't understanding why. Then, when I start applicated the dust method I start to see length retention and my hair was healthy. The key is to cut when you see the spilt end/knot and only the hair which need a cut. I do that on each wash day ( monthly ).
Hey Love,
Thank you for your well thoughout content. Would it be too much to ask for you to do a miniseries on helpful protective styles where you measure the length before and after? Also, share your insight on why you think the style produced so much length retention.
That would be so helpful☺️ I haven’t seen anyone document the amount of growth from a particular style.
My teenage nephew has been trying to grow his hair for a year. It's ridiculously THICK, but refuses to grow much in length at all, and he never cuts it. When I was his age about 20 years ago, I did the same thing. My hair was down to my shoulders in the same amount of time, and I used to cut, relax, dye it non-stop.
