    Ive been relaxed for 20 years, almost to the day and my spirit was being pulled into the direction of transitiong to natural for a while and i made the decision as of last night to not relax my hair ( due for a touch up today) I will admit i am nervous about enbarking on this journey but i am ready. @@angelcarter9740 It depends if you plan to big chop or grow it out with clipping the ends. I transitioned for 3 years.

    I did the big chop the first time I went natural in 2011. It was faster to grow my hair out and the length was even all over. Went back to relaxed in 2021 bc i wanted a pixie. Now im going back natural and transitioning with braids. I’ll take week long breaks from braids in between getting them redone but i think braids for me is the best bet. I used to be a wig girlie but i can’t see myself rocking one if it isn’t a v part wig.

    Didn’t do the “big chop” and avoiding the blow dryer is super hard but did it here & there. Yes trims is a must!, avoid straighteners for sure, protective styles great but weaves def no I hate, braids is ok but itchy. It’s hard but we have to do
    What works for you, but I totally agree less multiplication a must & treatments

    Just coming across your channel. I haven't had a relaxer since Jan/Feb and since it's summer, I plan to do braids most of the time, but I do like to give my hair a break, so right now I'm managing 2 textures of hair for the next 3 weeks until I get braids again. Will the blow dryer really damage your hair? I leave in a cold state, and having my air dry will take at least 24 to 48 hours to dry, which could be a problem when the temperature drops again.

    • @keaundraprice
      @keaundraprice  Год назад +1

      I think any heat used too often could damage your hair. I have REALLY thick hair so the times I used a blow dryer I didn't have any other option. If you're twisting your hair I suggest a hooded dryer for at least 15min to knock the cold off. Hope this helps and thank you for watching. :)

      Hi! Id say start with a couple weeks since the hair is transitioning. That will allow you to deep condition and trim your hair. I''d suggest a twist out if the relaxed ends can blend in well. I did talk about what I personally did it between styles in another video. It will all depend on your hair type. I hope this helps. :)

And I have not permed my hair in about three months so I do want to start the natural transition and so far it’s been very difficult I’ve been wearing wigs hair wraps and it does get very tiresome. Hello! Thank you for watching. I'd say try braids for the summer. I found the easiest way to manage my transition was with braids, wigs and weaves. If you use dark color, maybe try a rinse instead of permanent color as it may be too harsh for transitioning hair. It could potentially break off. However, everyone's hair is different. :) I hope this helps.
