Awesome binding technique. As a quilter of 20+ years, I am on the never-ending quest for the perfect binding technique. You may have discovered it. I tried it for myself and it is a total game changer. It also got me over the fear of trying my L890 on a real project. Thanks Amanda!
I always forget how to join the ends! I have to re-learn it every time. I came back to this video today so that I could see your simple but perfect method! Thank you for that 😊
So are you saying that when you use the seam guide you take the cutting blade out of action? But if you don’t use seam guide you put the cutting blade back into action? Is there any chance that seam guide would fit onto other sergers? How about that clear foot? TFS! 🌷
If I didn't want to trim anything off then, yes, I'd lower the blade. I don't think seam guides and feet are interchangeable between serger brands. I really don't have expertise in anything other than a BERNINA.
The quilt feeds through more easily than a normal sewing machine and you have the option to put the fuisible thread through the lower looper as I show in this video.

Thank you for the great video!
I never thought to serge a binding…interesting thanks
❤Good demonstration, 🎉
This serger is insane! I'm sure I could figure this out on my mid-level. juki mmo 655.
I prefer to sew the binding on the back and turn to the front. Does the fusible thread still go in the lower looper?
yes It will always go in the lower looper because your binding is on top as you sew :) you will LOVE this technique
Hi Amanda, fusible thread, can I ask what make it is so I can try and find over here, fantastic idea, thanks.
Charlotte' Web by Superior Threads - it can withstand the high speed.
@@AmandaMurphyDesign I had another brand that I was trying to use and it broke constantly! No fun...

@@AmandaMurphyDesignThank you for answering.
I guess I was wondering if you can use the seam guide and the knife at the same time?
How can we save this without paying for RUclips?
