Even though I'm a writer, no words can express what this song means to me - but I'll give it a go. Stop Crying Your Heart Out saved my life twice: the first time parked up by the train tracks, the second time sat in the dark on my bedroom floor with a pile of pills in my hand. I started medication to stabilise me, and I've been on it for a long time. My life has changed in that time, and now, this song has made me realise I'm ready to finally come off them. Thank you Oasis - and thank you Noel.
Jamie best of luck, depression is a terrible thing , with sufferers being labeled horrible people ignorant nasty or just not nice, but they don’t see the internal workings of someone’s mind who has depression, I was and am happy to admit not a very nice person until I started on anti depression medication, now it’s the difference of night and day, stay strong and get help if it helps you,
Well, in my opinion, Mr Ian Brown’s back catalogue is miles better. Ok, Noel’s song is very good, it’s catchy on first listen & there is a keening sadness to it & it’s well done for sure. But it’s incredibly formulaic, nothing surprises or challenges the listener, nothing but it’s MOR taste is left behind but the ever present high guitar picked hook. It’s not substantial.
