Dead To The World - Lyrics by Noel Gallagher:
I can lend you a dream
‘Til we meet again
I’m dead to the world
I don’t know where I’ve been
And if you say so
I’ll bend over backwards
For love
Gonna write you a song
Won’t take me long
You can change all the words
And still get them wrong
And if you say so
I’ll bend over backwards
But if love ain’t enough
To make it alright
Leave me dead to the world
If love ain’t enough
To make it alright
Leave me dead to the world
‘Cause I’m sleeping
It’s time to let go
I’m bent over backwards
I’m so tired
Let these be my last words
If love ain’t enough
To make it alright
Leave me dead to the world
If love ain’t enough
To make it alright
Leave me dead to the world
If love ain’t enough
To make it alright
Leave me dead to the world
If love ain’t enough to make it alright
Make it alright
Make it alright
It’s too bad
‘Cause I’m sleeping
I can lend you a dream
‘Til we meet again
I’m dead to the world
I don’t know where I’ve been

Came here from the umbrella academy. The scene with five on the train thinking about Lila brought back memories. I felt so bad, because we’ve all experienced that..
in season three old five had said, "whatever you do, don't save the world." Now we understand why...

Goodbye, the Umbrella Academy. It was a nice few years. Time to move on, now, I guess 🤍
Noel Gallagher is still finding new avenues to create music that speaks to me and moves me the same way it did in 94 when I was listening to Definitely Maybe on my Sony Walkman. From a 12 year old boy to a 40 year old man, thank you Noel.
Agreed, I feel like for every stage of my life from teenager to now, the soundtrack of my life has been Noel Gallagher.
You pair of poor buggers 😉
Snap.
You still had cassettes in 94?
The same age for me and the same emotions ❤
My mother just passed away last week and this has just brought me to my knees. What a gorgeous tune...she would have loved it.

He writes the more emotional music than anyone else, no one else's music can make you feel something like Noel's can and though he'll never say it it must come from his childhood. The guys a genius pretending not to be, pretending it's nothing, life's easy, songs are easy to write but you know these songs are coming from somewhere deep.

Very open and honest
His falsetto is heart breakingly beautiful
@Doves Liam in his pomp was up with the finest rock leads ever, but subtle he rarely does. His finesse isn’t his strongest suit. He probably thinks falsetto is gay.
@Doves Where Did It All Go Wrong is another example where Noel absolutely nails the vocals on a track

Indeed! What a remarkable beautiful song! It stays in the head for several days and after listening to it again it will be again in the head several days!
Lyrically he's telling us about his fight to shower love on a wife that is telling him its not enough anymore. This is a man opening his story over the past how ever many years and questioning at the end where it took him, for he is now lost...
Wow.
What a song Noel, thank you for dumping the dance stuff off the last album and producing a diamond that shines in what must be a dark place for you brother.

How many of us can relate to this 👏🏽
I thought that too man great comment you read my mind
The film noire outro with the most personal lyrics gets me. The pictures are illustrating the words, perfectly.
If true. I’d Probably say that’s why his vocals sound like real emotion for the first time in a while and not just a jumble of sentences over a melody.
Beautifully said.

I'm 45, from STL, USA and Noel's my favorite song writer during my life. There isn't a close 2nd place. This song is just incredible, although I expect nothing less from him. The well usually runs dry for most song writers his age but Noel drinks from a deep well.
39 from Chicago and I absolutely feel the same.
It ran dry but emotions top them up. Classic songs are always written at the height of passion or at the despair of sadness
40 from Virginia. I've seen Oasis twice (96' and 98') and NGHFB twice (16' & 18'). Nothing comes close and most Americans just use Wonderwall as a pejorative

How can such a mean man write such a beautiful song? - Liam Gallagher
This is on a Talk tonight or Half the world away level. Honestly just give Noel an acoustic a backing track and a microphone and he produces absolute gold. What a craftsman he is. The ultimate songsmith.

Noel is truly amazing! His song writing is unbelievable! He is an inspiration to me. Its sad though that most American music listeners have no clue how great Noel Gallagher is as a singer-songwriter, artist and performer. He's coming to my city (Dallas) in a few month and I will see him live for the 4th time in his solo career. Cheers to all the Oasis and Noel fans out there!
I see him live in July in Detroit. Americans have missed out on so much great music. Instead, they’re obsessed with shitty electronic pop and rap music. Americans’ taste in music is garbage.
I live in Seattle and no one here listen to British bands the all listen to shite grunge metal stuff. Luckily I got a friend were making a record all inspired by 90s English bands and all the greats
I’ll be seeing Noel has a solo artist for the 4th time, when he comes to Boston. I saw a interview where he said one time, that he was a song writer singer. He says his voice isn’t that good, but I think it’s underrated
I love the hypnotic, mysterious melody in this song and how it is also packed with emotion. It illustrates the lyrics perfectly. I could get lost in this song, it just grabs you and you find yourself immersed in it. I love this!

Another absolute masterpiece by Noel Gallagher. This song is so beautiful. The lyrics again show why he is one of the finest songwriters the uk has ever produced, they’re melancholic and emotional at the same time and it’s probably the most personal song Noel has ever written in my opinion, and I also can’t help thinking part of it was about the breakdown of his marriage to Sara.
