Granted, they both suck nowadays but Esham was running shit in Detroit in the 90's man, ICP was influenced heavily by Esham (as they said in this very interview) Plain and simple if there was no Esham, ICP may not have got the certain edge they had to gain such a following.

Wow. That was a very informative hour. ICP dropped mad knowledge, specially about Detroit, connecting the dots between them, Eminem, Proof, D12, Kid Rock, Esham, Papa Doc, Freestyle Circle but also set the record straight about ICP and the Juggalo movement. I really hope Tech N9ne doesn't take offense to their clarifications to his remarks.
Esham has an EP called "Homey don't play!" and they were huge fans of Esham (as well as eventually becoming his peers) and they loved that clown makeup idea and switched from doing gangster rap as the Inner City Posse, and became Insane Clown Posse. like 1990-91
I'm so happy that Violent lost weight. I was truly worried about his health. I may not follow them like I used to but, I still care. Way to go Violent J!

HOLY SHIT!!! ICP on HOT 97!?!?!? That's something I never even thought of that happening on a mainstream hip-hop show. I'm not a fan of their music but I'm a big fan of their hustle and grind and the fact they've become multi-millionaires on the independent scene is amazing. Whether people like them or not they're big time hip-hop legends and definitely need to be respected. They have a HUGE wealth of knowledge of hip-hop and music in general and have had their Gathering Of The Juggalo's going on 18 years now and looks like its getting stronger. And Violent J lost a ton of weight, good for him. The only thing that bothered me about this interview is that ICP kept talking over each other but I guess they're so used to it so its not a biggie to them. Either way, amazing interview.
I remember icp album in stores I remember the slim shady beaf nd I never paid attention nd as a true hip hop head I am ashamed of myself. every tech show I have been to, he ALWAYS gives love to the Juggalos ALWAYS... and I've been going to see tech over 10 yrs now... HOW long and how much props do these guys need ?
From 5th-7th I was a hug fan, bought all the albums up until then. Threw them out when I was like 14. I regret it from time to time. They had some gems to be real. On some music shit.
Honestly, never heard of these guys but i was one of those early Slim Shady/Eminem fans that thought that raw disrespectful style of rap was HIS. Now i know where the "wicked rap" came from, respect to Em and his influencers.
Big props to Hot 97 for giving I.C.P. a platform to talk on. If you didn't like it or understand why they were on their then that's cool. But it was an awesome interview that i think any open minded person would at least find good. J went too hard on Tech tho. I know he was trying to prove a point, which i honestly believe to be true, but to keep harping on it............... That's how beef gets started and good relationships end. The Juggalo community for the most part love and adore Tech. If he chooses to to not give a huge part of his fanbase props then.............. Karma is a bitch. I personally don't believe it, and the last thing i would want is a beef between Psychopathic and Strange
Without Juggalos ICP and the entire psychopathic family wouldnt exist, they are the glue as he said, extremely important and essential to their success.. AND Tech N9nes.
I feel ya! I still have my hatchet man car stuff I bought in high school (my favorite is my hatchet man key lanyard I use to this day & purchased in 2001!! Juggalette 4life!!
Shocked me. Actually a good interview. Thought it would of been more of an awkward time. It's the face paint that has always threw me off. Impressed by the knowledge of Hip-Hop.
Being from Jackson Michigan, having lived in Flint, & Detroit I love seeing podcasts like this with Michigan grown talent. I as a kid had to hide my favorite music. Artists like esham, natas, mastamind,ICP,blaze ect. from Flint I liked top authority, Dayton family. I love the rock,metal,rap,hip-hop, Motown from home. I think a lot of people from these areas love the theatrics because it's a idea of hope or fantasy from everyday crap. I will admit I originally got into ICP because I always have loved clowns of all types. I am far from uneducated I am a electrician who is former military. people like what speaks to them. I can't wait until I can get out of Vegas and get back home. I would love to hear ICP rap about real conies. Also the best faygo flavor in my opinion is rockin rye
Thats dope. I grew up in toledo and live in vegas now too. Its crazy that there are artists that blow up in the midwest and cant sell a ten seater in LA but can sell a festival out in michagain or indiana. I cant think of one vegas artist that is local and huge and only big in this area. In the midwest you got hip hop local artists that are huge and just tour the midwest. There are rock bands that are doin the same in the midwest. Eskoostic hooka is a midwest rock band doing the same as icp. Cant sell a ten seater out in LA but sell out a festiville in ohio.

Great interview. I've always wanted to know more about them.
you should start going to thier show very loyalty to fans and the music pure raw an unct
yo this interview is long overdue for real, happy to see it. RESPECT for Ebro and Rosenberg for having the JJ BOYS on!
Extremely down to earth guys. Violent J probably gave a lot of bigger kids hope, going through high school bullying.
As a big man myself who was bullied all throughout my Schooling I had one bit of Advice.
Learn to fight and people will leave you alone.
If you are more trouble then you're worth then there..
@@mikejordan8259 or at least have the heart to fight. You got a group thats bullying you just pick the biggest one and STEAL THAT BITCH from the blindside. Might get your ass whipped...might not. But you'll get respect either way
I'm not a fan of their music but I respect their hustle and longevity. They made careers for themselves and their artists, built a huge fan base and created their own lane. Props

Dope interview, it was like a history lesson.
I never got into their music, but always respected their grind. self made millionaires. Very much apart of hip hip fa real.
Never been a ICP fan but respect for their knowledge of HipHop. It shows that they're no fakes they know and respect hip hop and its beginning
I went to an ICP show in Omaha just for shits and giggles. The Juggalos there were super accepting and really really nice. It was awesome.
Self made can't hate on these dudes
They did a song with Paris? These guys are full of surprises
It was Twiztid I believe the track is "Ghetto Neighbor"
never been a fan,,but i respect the fuck out of these dudes after watching this...
Esham has an EP called "Homey don't play!" and they were huge fans of Esham (as well as eventually becoming his peers) and they loved that clown makeup idea and switched from doing gangster rap as the Inner City Posse, and became Insane Clown Posse. like 1990-91
ESHAM IS THE SHIT I WAS HOOKED FIRST TIME I HEARD BLOOD TYPE. MUCH LOVE TO JUGGALO NATION WALK TALL AND CARRY A BIG FUCKIN HATCHET!
Insane Clown Posse are LEGENDS
ICP are rappers first and foremost, i hate how people seem to hink they aren't rap, listen to the drum beats, rhymes, and baggy clothes. Straight rap.
Break beats, sampling, scratching, call & response chants, breakdancing in vids or on stage, graffiti imagery... ICP is very very much hip hop.
These guys got a lot of musical/industry knowledge which is very respectable
I will always have mad respect for these dudes for what they have accomplished, legends.
The Great Milenko. peep that album if you never heard a single song from ICP.
Carnival of carnage is their best album
amazing jeckal brothers was my favorite album
I love a lot of their albums but Hell’s Pit is their best overall project imo
Ringmaster is fuckin' 🔥🔥🔥
Riddle box
That was dope. I'm glad some respected figures in hip hop show the clowns love because they are apart of the story that is hip hop.
I'm so happy that Violent lost weight. I was truly worried about his health. I may not follow them like I used to but, I still care. Way to go Violent J!
Anyone with love for the culture should respect J and Shaggy. Even Ebro recognizes that without a doubt.
I like how ICP is airing shit out lately... Twiztid, Young Wicked, and now Tech N9ne
ICP has some of the wildest fans. I respect their music. Homies for life.
thank you hot 97 for this interview. after seeing the interview with tech and how he danced around being down with juggalos and icp and his gathering comments. much love to icp. and again thank you so much for this interview it is much deserved not only for juggalos and Icp but for hip hop.
Damn, Violent J lost A LOT of weight.
Malcolm From The North wish they'd get the dreads back 😀
Meth is a hell of a drug
he was like 480 pounds
good for him
Plus, he sounds a lot different.
all the haters ignore 13 million album sales... icp's like ftfomf
they have 2 platinum albums
thistubeisfucked I fuckin love simple and blunt. shits so under ground.
album sales dont make them any good... smh.. i can hate drake and doesnt matter if he sold 100 billion albums.. he still gonna be wack to me.. juggalos as a word sounds corny and like some white people ish.. i doubt any blacks would rock that white world stuff.. lol and we latinos would never rock this clown azzzzz crappp
Lewis Rivers That's pretty dumb of you to say fool .I'm from Arizona and there's a lot of black and Latino Juggalos.
Lewis Rivers Where I'm from there's mad black and Hispanic Juggalos. So your comment is irrelevant.
Man I'm not really into ICP music but dude I totally %100 respect the hell outta what they are. They are the realest mfers I've seen for REAL. Good dudes
these are two of the realest dudes out
Shout out to Hot 97 for showing love to ICP!
Thank you for interviewing them I didn't even read the comments below but I imagine it's 99% HATE. Even if its the ONLY TIME y'all interview them. Good stuff
Hypnotized Ninja I WILL NEVER LISTEN TO THEIR MUSIC
THEY ARE FCKN TRASH.
if you don't know who this iconic rap group icp is you truly live in a bubble lol Outside if Nore drink champs' best interview I seen in a minute

To the icp juggalos movement I wna apologize nd giv y'all a huge familee shout out. Most informative interview I've seen in years!! From this day forward ima juggalos too BIG UP FAMLEEEEE
Juggalo, but Homie, I'm glad to here it. MMFCL.
RESPECT!! Happy Holidays too you and yours!!
every tech show I have been to, he ALWAYS gives love to the Juggalos ALWAYS... and I've been going to see tech over 10 yrs now... HOW long and how much props do these guys need ?
Man these guys are hustlers for real . Props 💯💯💯
He said on his first album "I'm a mixture of Manson, Esham & Ozzy".
Authentic guys and I never took me serious much respect man.
Juggalo's are about the people, not the artist.
Without Juggalos ICP and the entire psychopathic family wouldnt exist, they are the glue as he said, extremely important and essential to their success.. AND Tech N9nes.
This comes from a huge Tech fan, who's still a fan of him, but disappointed he did that.
legendary!

Yes, Hopsin came from the Juggalo scene. Toured it. Used same promoters.
