I am using military and civil sleeping bags by Carinthia for a long time now. From summer to winter and alsmost everywhere I go. The hearth of them is their G-Loft insulation. This synthetic insulation performs well even when wet.
These sleeping bags can deal with a lot of stress and are made to handly rought military conditions.
Carinthia is based in Austria and their products are made in Europe. I even visited one of their facilities last year.

Hab ich schon länger so auf dem Schirm. Aber bis jetzt hat da scheinbar die Faulheit gesiegt. Möchte das in Zukunft aber öfter so machen.

This is how you sleep in multiple days military exercises in the IDF for example. even with your vest/plate carrier on.
It is very typical to sleep with your gear and boots on in a tactical envoirement, mainly to be in high readiness. But there are also many other reasons. For example in very cold conditions you always sleep with your boots on, otherwise they will freeze ... can cause a very shitty morning :D
@@thomastanner1307 Closest I come to "undressed" in my sleeping bag on exercise is pulling my pants around my ankles to let my groin breath lmao.
Takes half a second to pull up and another second to tighten the buckle.
For winter use, are you using a pad underneath, with the Defence #4? For colder weather, can the tropen, be used as an outer? How cold can it go comfortably, on it's own? Is the Defence #1, comparable to the Defence #4?

Yes. But I often don’t bring them. And as soon as you step on the ground, the material gets compressed and does not really insulate anymore.
But still a cool Gadget for in the hut or if you spend longer time in the tent or camp and don’t want to wear your normal boots (maybe because they are wet).

Would you build a shelter like that in a Tactical situation? I assume not?
Not on daily basis. Maybe in a survival situation.
But even there I assume I would prefer one closer to the ground and within bushes.

Findest du den Defence im Sommer zu warm? Bin unentschlossen ob es der Tropen oder der Def4 werden soll...
Im Sommer im Mittelgebirge oder Flachland hier in Deutschland ist er meiner Meinung nach definitiv zu warm. Dann lieber den Tropen oder Defence 1 ;)

ripperkon das Mückennetz ist schon ne coole Sache, allerdings bin ich garkein fan von seitlichen Reisverschlüssen, bin seitenschläfer... mal sehen vielleicht modifiziere ich den Defence 1 etwas damit er auch eine Art moskito Netz hat:)

C. Walter In my time in the Army, I slept with all of my clothes on many times. It depends on the duty. Some of us were on standby in case something happened. The next night it was someone else and I slept normal. Of course there were guards too, they were who would wake the rest of us on standby. My point is, sometimes, sleeping ready to go happens.
Ich bin auch in der Armee, nur bringt man uns bei alles aus bzw runter zu ziehen. Ich möchte daher wissen Mythos oder nicht:D
C. Walter it’s about time. Us on standby had to immediately be in position, no time to even put on a jacket. Unzip the bag, and run to position, our weapons were in the bag too. We were a small team. This standby group had other regular duties not just guard duty. Think of it as backup guards for just in case. This was maybe the only sleep we’d get for a day or two and was only 4 hours at best.
