- Cycling around the world is a crazy adventure. Now we explore Sicily, Italy by bicycle. Problems force us to change plans, again. It's December and we want to spend Christmas together with other cyclists.

Hey everyone. Our adventure continues on the infamous Italian island of Sicily. As always, if you like our videos, be so kind and leave a comment and a thumbs up. It gives us a lot of motivation, especially to do the editing, which is a ton of work. By engaging with our content you also help it become more visible for other people, which will help us to make this sustainable, eventually 🙂
Enjoy, Arev and Mathias
Such a wonderful place to stay with friends. How lovely of Giuseppe to guide you there! Paul
Still one of our favorite camp spots!
Thanks for sharing your journey!
Thanks! It's our pleasure 😀
Another great video, well done to you both 🚴♂️🚴😎😎
Thanks Tom! Enjoy the summer ☀️
Thank you for this very realistic video about Sicily. I really like it there, but I have to admit that it's not all rosy. By bike, you probably see places where "tourists" never go.
We like to say that we spend most of the time in the in-between and it turns out that a lot of times this is what we actually enjoy the most.
Way to hang in there thru the couple first rough days, wow what a great spot provided for you to enjoy
Yeah, Scala dei Turchi was amazing indeed and we were lucky to meet Giuseppe! 💛
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour and the guy you met in Turkiye when you first arrived and lost your camera..... Meeting people like that make for some of the best memories, I've experienced similar things on my travels. Thanks so much for sharing your travels.
Great video guys ☺😊
Thanks Micky!
Thanks for the unique insights! Love your videos! ❤
Thanks for watching! Miss you guys!
We are following you with excitement. You are amazing :)
Thank you so much!
Grande Giuseppe! He brought you to an amazing place!
Yes indeed!
Good day to you!
I am a senior rider on HONDA motorcycle from Japan.
I am enjoying camping ,touring and upload video.
Your cycling video is so nice!
Awesome!
Have a nice day my friend!
Ok, thank you!
Thank you for another nice video. We were in Palermo ' years ago but not on bicycles. Luckily we saw none of the rubbish lying around. Buildings have been very neglected which is a shame but the city does have a genuine feel to it even if it's rough around the edges.
We took the train to Catania and planned to stay three days but left after one as it didn't feel a safe place.
I look forward to the next leg of your journey, stay safe.👍
Yes, one can literally feel the history just by looking at Palermo. We found it very impressive. It was just for the first time for us that the in-between looks so rough.
I appreciate you showing traveling the way it is. It's not always perfect views, blue skies and no arguments. We just hope when we check the scales the good days greatly out weight the others.
Thanks Glenn! Maybe not every single day, but most days and for sure overall we are extremely glad that we are doing this. It is challenging us a lot, but also the most rewarding thing we did so far!
Great video. I'ts great to know that you are accepting the journey and what you need to do to be really happy on your travels. I liked the way you explained all the ruins and historic part of Sicily. The bit about the slaves was interesting. I've found that point of view is common between younger European generations, especially germans. (I mean that in a good way). Taking the good and the bad, putting everything on the table to have a discussion is important in history.
Lastly, Im loving the intros and outro previewing the next episodes
Hey Betortitas, thank you so much for your feedback! That is really helpful for us. Don't be afraid to also give constructive criticism ;-)
Love it. Hope you have the best adventure on all your future travels ❤
Thank you! You too!
Unfortunately for me, I found Palermo to be very dirty, trash everywhere. Also in early September, the streets smelled of urine, from the horse drawn carriages.
Yes, depending where you go it is much rougher than most European cities, for sure.
Yessss was waiting in anticipation for your adventure guys, loved it!
Thank you Bloem! We would love to do then faster, but it almost takes us a week full time to edit one episode 😅
Great video. Hope to see you in Australia one day🦘🇦🇺
That would be cool! We would love to make it that far!
Benne 👌
Buongiorno 🤌
😊
Merhaba 😃
Videos are getting better the further you go.. good job.
Thank you T64! We are learning little by little. If you have ideas what we could improve we will gladly take hints.
I'm almost ready for a new trip easward but, unfortunately, it's very difficult to find an insurance to protect against the risks we meet during the ride: did you find a solution for it? have a good holyday.
What type of insurance are you looking for exactly?
We only got personal liability insurance and long term travel health insurance.
In our research we found it very specific depending on exact needs, home country and age.
We are both German nationals in our 30s. Unless that's true for you too, not sure if we can help you much with this.
I think for the luggage you will need an extra insurance, but the other stuff should be covered by most proper long term travel health insurances.
Why did you skip Italy west coast?
It only makes sense if you look at it in the context of all episodes. We've had a lot of rain in France in November and the forecast for December was not so great. We just needed the piece of mind to have generally better weather.
Italy has abbandoneted the Sicily, Calabria and Naples,
Yes, it seems they are lagging behind economically, but the people, history and landscapes are fantastic 👏
Multo Pere Coloso
Not sure what that means. Something about big pears or something dangerous?
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour
It means catastrophy!
Palermo is a very corrupt place…
I toured Europe and North Africa back in the early 90s with a Miyata Quickcross and came to Sicily from Tunis and almost got killed by a car 5 min after I got off the boat. It’s a very beautiful and special place. Same story in Greece (evan worse) Ppl and Cars are not a good combo😅🙏
South and East Europe’s infrastructure sucks! Too much Corruption! Too little bicycle roads! Stay safe
@@elfredo70 Oh yes, it is quite obvious unfortunately. As we were on Sicily in the off-season traffic was no problem for us fortunately. Otherwise it was such a special and beautiful place!
Is identik at Mississippi 😅
I which way?
