- Bigger isn't always better, but it's nice to have a choice of different sizes to fit your needs, right? Hence the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. It's bigger than a regular Highlander and not quite as large as the full-size Sequoia. It competes against the Kia Telluride, Honda Pilot and Mazda CX-90. Let's see how it fares.

Missed three big points: 1) the TGH is much less expensive than the Lexus and has much more space, 2) the 3rd row seats recline to give you a lot more space in the thrid row than what was portrayed, 3) the second row also folds flat to provide well over 90 csf of truly cavernous space. It wouldv'e been nice to see those features.

Your honest review was excellent! Would you still prefer a base hybrid over a gas model even though there is less power? How does the third row feel to you versus in a Honda Pilot? The drink holders seem to protrude quite a bit and makes it feel small still. How does the bench move out of the way for the third row passengers? Will it move that way with car seats in them? I really appreciate the details you pointed out!

Crazy question, but was that interior black or gray? The suede center panels make it harder to tell.

Where are all the Grand Highlanders?? I live in New England and have not seen a single one on the roads. They also seems to be scarce inventory at my local dealership.
Talked to the dealer. Inventory is low. Says he gets about 3 of them every couple months and they are gone quickly 😮
I'm on month 7 of my 6-8 month wait list. About to go over to Mazda.
What about parking assist?
They should have called this a Drand RAV 4 it looks more like that in my opinion.

It's open air with I believe a small deflector at the front.if that's what you mean. I ordered one and saw it but don't remember the exact details, I like it.

You hit the nail on the head. I feel uncomfortable whenever I go into the driver’s seat.
Third row seat definitely "no" from me...as am 5'10' and not comfortable with leg room. I need 90° not 45°..leg angle...

It's weird they don't have power third row in the top-of-the-line model. The Lexus version (TX) doesn't even have it as standard. It's an option... on a ~$70k vehicle.
Maybe because power is slower and annoying

That's cheap. In my country that would cost us like 75 grand due to excess tax.
That thin clunky aluminum hood bouncing around on the highway really pisses me off.... So does their thin tinny sounding doors when you close them.

Why is only 6 speed in this big and also heavy car especially when you go to Floryda with your wife one kids and brother in law his wife and 2 other kids and also bunch of staf with everything..and don't forget on de big box on whole roof Aldo fool with some staff..aha
They have 8 speed in non hybrid
I dont really think Toyota did a good job making this car, it feels and looks cheap in the inside for a car being over $43,000. Not to mention thats for the base model which has even cheaper materials, CX90 is better if you put aside reliability and even then its still reliable
lol cx90 is a lemon, looks really feminine as well. Can’t beat Toyotas reliability

Besides this your only choice is a minivan, I don’t know a single SUV with more space that’s even as close to as well rounded as this one.
The only real competitors now for this are tilluride & palisade.

We just purchased this vehicle and the screen is pretty kick ass. Easy to maneuver thru. My tween and teen enjoy connecting their phone wirelessly for their music. And whenever i activate siri- the screen/infotainment connects flawlessly.

I rather buy TESLA by far. Toyota sensors doesn't work many times. Toyota has not technology. + maintenance ss costly . However TESLA doesn't need oil change
I own Tesla long range y with fsd and it is shit. Fsd is not reliable, yes no oil change but you pay 3x more insurance , 2x more for tires , single front windshield is 1600,USD to replace. And the most important is you need to charge daily if you drive daily. Some one can argue with me they don't drive much , my answer is get a raptor or tundra if you don't drive much. And super charge is 26cent kwh, and fast charger almost 50cent kwh, so rav4 hybrid better overall economy over than model y . Another point is model y is 400hp yes but if only if your battery soc above the 60%. .....
