You can easily read the back of Levi's tags to determine date, the 9 series and 512 vintage Levi's are basically gold and I rarely sell for less than 100, the tiny (24,25,26) size 550 sell easily for 60+, and vintage chunky RL polo mens oversized sweaters are an easy $60 every single time to girls.

Shrink to fit 501xx means the pair of jeans will shrink at least 1 inch in the waist and about 2 inches in the length. Those measurements applied to 501s from the 70s. They may still apply.

One thing I have had good luck with on Ralph Lauren: items with the Big Pony Logo. For some reason they sell well for me. And if it’s a 3x or bigger. They jump off the shelves. Those jersey style shirts with the #3 on the sleeve also move for me. Those are the only RL I buy. They are bread and butter items for me. Thanks for the great vid.
Back in the 70's and 80's we use to buy our Levi jeans and wash them in hot water so they would shrink to fit. I learn this the hard way. My first pair, I tried them on and they fit nice. I took them home and wash them for the first time and I had to give them to my little brother, because they shrunk way too much. My next jeans I had to buy them a lit big, so they could shrink to fit.

Big help! I want to echo what someone else about the Silver Tab Levis you mentioned in another video, I tried to be calm when I found a pair at a tiny thrift store in my area. I would probably get more Wranglers if I could get them for $1-2 but otherwise I leave them for someone else. Had a RL blazer, never could sell it. So I removed labels, buttons, and the breast patch. Sold those for MORE than I was asking for the jacket complete....
I found some levis 501xx at good will it had the color of the day ticket and it was 8.99 with half off so i got like 5 pairs of levis 501xx and others for $4.50 each and there all in good condition
Can't speak for mens but the fit changed for women's jeans when levis moved production out of the US. So vintage or not there's a demand from those of us that remember the old jeans. If memory serves (I worked for them once upon a time) it was somewhere around 2003 when they switched to overseas.

Is it vintage Levi’s only? Or do the modern levis sell well too if they’re the sale model? I.e. vintage 550 vs modern 550, vintage 501 vs modern 501 etc
I also have 2 pairs of Wrangler 20X, they've been sitting in my store for months now. Jeans dont sell well for me, I have 50 pairs of jeans not moving at all, and priced low.
Be careful buying wrangler brand. There is a cheaper walmart brand and then the "cowboy" wrangler brand with the leather logo sewn in on the back. The cowboy wrangler jeans are thick, not flimsy at all. They are comparable to cinch/ariat etc.
"Shrink to fit" means it is older (pre 80's) and you would buy the Levis larger than would fit you and then wash them so they would shrink to your size. This was what you would buy before "prewashed" jeans. Interesting that I have been thrifting for decades for my own clothes, and I am like you eBay customers. I ignore Wranglers.

Hey, I don't have a pricing guide, but shouldn't be too hard to find comps on ebay. Search solds, search actives, decide whether you want to price higher on the spectrum to get more money or price lower on the spectrum to get less money faster.

I'm currently not disclosing my ebay store just because when people look at your listings and don't buy anything it runs down your sellthrough rate, which the ebay algorithm doesn't like. My sales would likely take a dip. I take a photo of the jeans folded once lengthwise and draped over the bottom of a hanger, sort of looks like a flat lay. Then I do one full front, one full back, one of the front pocket area, one of the back pocket area, one of the fly, all the tags, and both ankles on the back.

Hey Tommy, I'm not an expert at all. Unfortunately can't help much on that front. Levi's is a well documented brand though, one of the most sought after vintage brands. There is surely a guide somewhere online.
The really old vintage $$$ Levi's have a big E in Levi's, it also has red thread along the seam if you turn them inside out. There are a few things like these that set them apart. If you find these, regardless of their condition, they could be in heavily worn, and still worth $1500-2,000
Those are Lauren Ralph Lauren, which is a relatively low-end women's tag. Some of it's worth it. Especially the navy blazers with a big emblem on the chest.
Damn you to Hell. I promised myself I would never ever sell clothing again since I had so many issues back when I tried it. Now you revealed unto me that I was the issue. User error. I guess I am going to give it another go.

Divide solds by actives, multiply by 100 to get percentage. There are other ways to do it but that's the simplest and you can often just eyeball it.

Distressing could diminish sale price and speed of sale just slightly but I would still pick them up. In fact I just bought some distressed 560s.

Best Offer is your friend, just don't accept offers that low. It's totally fine to stonewall lowballers if you do it politely.
@@ThriftALife It's tricky because I'm trying to see if I can increase sales by offering free shipping, so best offer may not work . For example, I have a pair of jeans listed for 18.99, and someone offered me $14.99, so it won't work as I will only be netting around $4.

Never picked them up. Sellthrough is much lower than the full length jeans. Worth a shot if you can get them cheap.

Hey Tommy, I'm not an expert at all. Unfortunately can't help much on that front. Levi's is a well documented brand though, one of the most sought after vintage brands. There is surely a guide somewhere online.

The really old vintage $$$ Levi's have a big E in Levi's, it also has red thread along the seam if you turn them inside out. There are a few things like these that set them apart. If you find these, regardless of their condition, they could be in heavily worn, and still worth $1500-2,000

Those are Lauren Ralph Lauren, which is a relatively low-end women's tag. Some of it's worth it. Especially the navy blazers with a big emblem on the chest.
