Congratulations on your retirement!! I worked at a major Midwest university for thirty years. I had quite a few work-study students over the years. I didn't see them daily as you saw your students, but still adored them. Unlike you, I was ready to go though I was going to miss everyone a lot. I never regretted my decision. Eleven years later and I feel the same. Once you've had a little time to unwind, I have a feeling you're going to love retirement. It's the beginning of a new chapter in your life with your husband and children. Yahoo!! 👋🥂

I cried my way through this video ! Congratulations and blessed retirement! My son will start his 22nd year of teaching in August. I have had the honor of watching him be greeted by former students that see us out and about and it makes my day hearing about the impact he's had on so many lives. Teachers are such selfless, compassionate human beings, Your choice of profession gives us a little insight as to why you are such a loving parent to your kids. I worked for a school district. Teachers always amazed me. On the last day when a teacher retired, her husband rolled up in a RV to pick her up.

I loved watching this video. I was smiling and crying! Mrs. Safier, it takes special people to teach school, love their kids and try to make those kids feel like it is a second home and they are safe. My dad taught 44+ years (36 in our local school system when it became a school system), my sister taught 27 years in the school as well right beside him and is now online teaching. My mother raised us and she had been a teacher back before you had to have a license. When we started school, she started volunteering and that was about 20 years for her in schools. Me, I’m in Public Relations! I have no gift for teaching lol. I am so proud that you felt like these kids were “yours” and you loved them. I’m sure they love you too. My dad still has people come up to him and talk about having him in class. Congratulations!!!!
