    Awesome damn content. Anyone have any suggestions for a qd option for the magpul piccattinny bipod? I tried the three slot kinetic development but Christ there has to be another option.

    • @hdub6527
      @hdub6527 Год назад +2

      Idk what it would be but there has to be a picatinny to atlas adapter that you could attach the mahout bipod to and then attach that to an arisaka rail slider. I have an arisaka rail slider for my atlas and love it. Move it between all my rifles.

    • @C_oprator89

      @@hdub6527 I shoulda got the damn 17s I friggin knew it when I ordered it but Magpul won’t just send the top part for me to switch it out. But Midwest industries has a pretty legit one for about the same price of the bipod but will work.

    • @wongkeebs4327
      @wongkeebs4327 Год назад +1

      A lil funky and kinda adds like 1.5" to the base height but the budget way I did is a magpul mlok to pic rail piece at the end of my rail, and then paired a picatinny magpul bipod with a picatinny QD off amazon. The expensive and less height adding way is using a ADM Mlok to picatinny QD adapter and pairing it with a mlok magpul bipod.

    • @christaylor4086
      @christaylor4086 Год назад +1

      I pulled my kenetic development qd deal.. got really frustrated with it.. running a 3 slot aluminum picatinny to a qd picatinny to picatinny. My magpull bipod is the picatinny version. Adds more height than the KD qd deal but it is a reasonably priced strong lockup that works much better.

    There is an add on Illuminator that attaches to the Trijicon TA31 ACOG. The REM ACOG (Reticle Enhancement Module). It basically turns your TA31 into a TA02. It also covers half of the fiber optic so it helps reduce that reticle bloom in bright daylight. You will never have to buy chemlights anymore or need to replace the tritium. It is made of 30% glass filled polymer just like the AR pistol grips. Great Upgrade to the TA31.

      My only advice to you would be to listen to men who've been deployed, not a LARP'r on a video.
      Any mil spec rifle will serve you well.
      Remember, it's the indian and not the arrow.
      You can easily spend thousands on useless gear, or you can spend that money on ammo and good training....
      Ask yourself this:
      Are you gonna be deployed to some shithole to fight where your enemy is highly trained?
      No, chances are your rifle will be used to plink with and hopefully never be pointed at another man.
      Keep it simple, ounces equal pounds, pounds equal pain.

    Excellent information that will save new shooters money on their purchases. You cant go wrong with any item these gentlemen suggested. I like a pistol grip thats more vertical as well. The best one I have found has been the beavertail vertical crossover grip by Driven Arms. Its the bee's knees especially if you have bigger hands. Thier smaller ultralight compact grip is excellent as well. Although there are several great options out there, my favorite charging handle is made by Badger Ordinance along with their ambi safeties. Still to this day, its hard to beat the Magpul CTR stocks because of the economical and well fitted risers. To each their own, but when the optic is raised the face must rise with it if consistency is important to you. No matter your preference, consistency is an important part of accuracy. Thank you gentlemen for taking the time to put this info out. You gained a new subscriber.

    The G$ BCG (Reliability Enhanced) is wildly expensive, but imo is the real deal. The coating on mine does not seem to wear. Like it has no wear marks. The bolt has, of the BCGs I have, the tightest tolerances in terms of gas rings and headspacing. I have PVS 14s and PVS 30s. PVS 14s are great for clearing house. But I have to admit in almost every other situation thermal scopes rule the night. Things have changed. The new Thermal tool is superior in many night settings.

    I actually really like Magpuls Claw Qd attachment because it locks and can still be quickly removed with one hand and I've had those ball bearings on Regular Qd Mount fail on me or brush up against a wall accidentally and it disconnect while doing a drill

    A bit driver w/ all the bits you need for all of the screws on your rifle is good to carry.
    So is a paint can opener to pull out any stuck cases.
    And, if your not ising Loctite's primer with any Loctite younput on your rifle, switch to VC3 because it doesn't need a primer and isn't expensive.
    Loctite needs a primer if the metal is coated in any way.

    As far as slings go, I now exclusively run the T.Rex Arms 2pt in the reverse throw configuration, once you get used to pulling up to tighten the sling, down to loosen, it makes so much more sense than the traditional 2pt setting

      Not a bad sling at all.

    One thing that makes me confident in the BCM I fell into is that people always mention it as an alternative. I don't trust guntubers anymore than ffl's as far as their primary recommendation goes (I just assume it's bought and paid for)
    BCM isn't at the top of anybodys list, but it's always in the top 5

      Edited to add: BCM has been at the top of my list for about a decade I think. Not that I’m anyone whose opinion matters

    I run the LaRue MBT-2s as well. I have the flat faced one. Got it for $80 and then sold my Geissele SSA-E. Love the Geissele triggers but there are so many more affordable options that are just as good. The $240 price tag just isn’t worth what you get anymore. He’s riding thunder from 10+ yea ago still. He could be selling them for $120-$140 and I might feel a little differently about it. But I’d still choose a LaRue MBT for $80-$100 all day even if the SSA-E was half its current price.

    There are so many good quality companies. Say you get an xl upper from Aero Precision b/c u building a 6.5 grendel. Perfect cause the ejection port is just a tiny bit wider & will eject the slightly fatter brass w/o even thinking it might jam. hand rail using a one of a kind securing system. & extremely tough while estheticly pleasing, which also mounts very securely to a high shelf Griffin lower😊. And Griffin also makes SEVERAL muzzle devices from breaks & hybrids to full on spec-ops proven suppressors.😂 I'm enjoying your opinions & discussion. Lol & KNOWING geisslel and surefire AREN'T the end all & be all. And I totally run streamlights when I can. I used sure fire & streamlight in early iraq. I never had a bad streamlight & I chose especially rechargeable. Still have one from06"! I'm glad to have run across you fellas, I'm ur newest subscriber 👌

So when I decide to purchase an AR I'm going with an A2 lower set-up with a mid length upper. If anyone else runs that kind of set-up let me know how you like it and how it runs
