You can fell all the emotions that surround a song, just like in Fade to Black, One or The Unforgiven and in many others. @@maxotto9877 My other favourite metal-ballad is The Idol by WASP. So, this I consider "a Comfortably Numb" of heavy-metal, mb because of the breathtaking guitar solo.
Also, I have a habit (or more like just a willing) to listen both (The Idol and FtB) in a sequence. They give me some relief when I'm down and could push me up when I need it.
And I just like when the narrator says his speech at the end "He finally made it to the top of the mountain. And when he looked around... there was nothing left" and then FtB slowly starts like hero's journey is going on.

What a magical memorable moment in history. The whole concert, the situation, the history, people coming together bonding. Thats what I see. How can you think metal is evil, etc. Its as if countries came together in happiness and enjoyed. The history of how this became is even more feeling. Its good, not bad.

    Lyrics
Life it seems to fade away
    Drifting further everyday
    Getting lost within myself
    Nothing matters no one else
I have lost the will to live
    Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things not what they used to be
    Missing one inside of me
Deathly loss this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell I feel
    Emptiness is filling me
    To the point of agony
    Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me but now, he's gone
No one but me can save myself, but its too late
Now I can't think, think why I should even try
Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye
    Goodbye

I'm a Bulgarian born in 96 and I grew up with the art of the free world... I'm grateful beyond words for all that I've received. Imagine being from a country where 90% of the music is written by state composers and you can't speak your heart because someone might take you away... And these punks here - they came from nothing and every note they played was from the heart. This is why the crowd loved them. They could sense how real they were. And all the freedom they carried in their music.
