      @@Woody_Johnson It says "Moscow 1991," so it was right before the fall of the Soviet Union & end of the Cold War, so this was prob the first big American band to play in Russia, possibly the first big rock/metal concert over there too

      Woody Johnson it was right after the Soviet Union falling which showed signs of peace between the US and Russia and a more free world being a concert like this could happen in a previously dictorial land. It was also one of the largest rock and metal concerts ever that spread the genre to many people who’ve never heard of it before. It was most likely the last rock and metal concert of this size to ever happen too

      Oldboy 2017 Cliff was an anomaly, and unfortunately we all had to miss growing into the respected veteran musician he could’ve become. I don’t think Jason ever had Cliff’s improv chops, but Jason’s musicianship is second to none. He viewed his role differently than Cliff did, but he was a professional and a solid contributor to that band. As is Trujillo. Metallica has always picked the right bassist for their band lol

I wonder what the overall morale was around the soldiers at that time? Were they excited for new change? Were they afraid of the unknown that I’m sure they were definitely feeling was inevitable? Reminds me ancient empires you read about in history books, but that actually happened during our era. Kinda crazy too, that things like that are sure to occur again.

    James has one the greatest voices for any band I’ve ever listened to. Powerful, not too soft not too deep. It’s made for heavy metal and live performances. Quite annoying hearing a Live version to a studio version and there’s a noticeable difference but with James it sounds the same. Incredible.

      I guess you skipped Kirks contributions in that particular song. Out of tune, missing parts, not in time with rest of the band. Atrocious quality!

    Честный концерт, не чета нынешним, до сих пор жалею, что не побывал там тогда, хотя возможность была. Метла уже такой никогда не будет, как и я впрочем.

    • @dangerjbl
      @dangerjbl 4 года назад +2

      @@sharpshooter_00i79 Yes! The Donington 92 is killer to but James seems more aggressive and way more into this performance imo especially how he screams “cmon’ and the whole band is rockin. Also Hets growls that were his signature in the early days, wish he still did all that stuff as often now.
