I have the Vevor model and love it. One clarification. The chamber vacuum sealers remove the air form the entire chamber, including the bag. The bag is then sealed with no air or atmosphere inside. When the chamber vacuum is released it compresses the bag because there is no pressure in the bag to resist it. Thanks for all the great videos!
I also have the vevor machine and even though it's clearly a blatant copy of the vacmaster and vevor has shamlessly stolen the designs and intellectual property of so many companies I couldn't be happier
The strip vacuum sealers remove the air from the bag only. Thus the pressure in the bag is less than the outside air. The outside air pressure squeezes the bag and forces the liquid out of the bag. This is why chamber sealers work better with liquids. In the chamber, there is no outside air pressure.
It's sealing the liquid as well as the more solid items, it just doesn't appear that way because you can't compress liquid. The bag formed tight to the apple, is just as tight as the liquid filled steak.
I have the VP210 and besides sealing food in bags you can use it to "quick pickle" veggies like onion and cucumber. Put them in a bowl with pickling liquid and run the vac cycle a few times. One thing to be aware of is do not try to seal hot or warm liquids, they will boil at low pressure and you end up with liquid being forced out of the bag into the chamber and may end up in the pump.
I love my Vevor. Ive had it for a couple of years. Good company. My first one stopped working and they sent me whole new one and I didn't have to return the old one.
Excellent demo Greg! I have been through several chamber sealers trying to find the 'really right one' and I'm glad I did. IT's the most used accessory in my kitchen.
Great video! I purchased a JVR Vac 100 chamber sealer, and enjoy it very much. I was going to get the VacMaster, but opted for the JVR because you can seal cannisters with it. Enjoy it very much. Chamber sealing is so much better than a Food Saver, and bags are much cheaper. Happy Sealing!

Both machines are set by time …. So 30 sec is same in any situations, and you set vac master for longer vacuum time than vevor …. What makes it look faster . I think you are paid by vevor …..
Notice he has a Vacmaster VP210 which has a dry pump, the VP215 is better than the VP210. The Vevor has an oil pump however it is a cheap Chinese knock off and will likely fail soon.
@@t-mac6210 I fear planned obsolescence. Who knows these days. Old days stuff was made to last because it was made in the USA and cost quite a bit so people demanded it last. Just take the tv from the fifties. If you had to buy it today the cost would be $15,000 in today's money.
Good video. An addition to the information is, the Vevor will not hold a 500 ml mason jar upright. I was hoping it would. However, It will hold the half size (250 ml).
@@user-uf5jj3oy9w The chamber is not tall enough to hold a 500 ml jar upright. You could place the jar on it's side but the contents of that jar would have to be solid (frozen liquid, powder, etc.) but I have not tried it so I'm not sure it would work.
@@wayne3320 is there a difference in how much air is left in the chamber between a chamber vac and a 2000 - 3000 dollar vacuum chamber ? Or is the only real difference the chamber size ?
@@user-uf5jj3oy9w I can't factualy answer that. But my guess has always been the bigger the chamber, the more money the vacuum chamber costs (bigger vacuum motor needed and higher versatlity of the bigger chamber). Both chambers vacuum the same amount of air is my guess.
I think the main difference besides of the oil free vacuum pump comes from the fact, that VacMaster is a big brand and there is more administration, logistics, marketing etc. involved. I have got an inexpensive chamber vacuum sealer and I am super happy. The sealer is in front opposite of the air-inlet, which I rather like (this isn’t so good in the video - if you have a liquid over-boiling you have got it into the vacuum pipe and you have got directly to exchange the oil. However due to the very simple “in the box” construction (there is literally a full vacuum pump within the box) - they are very easy to fix. Oh another thing: I like the deeper “beds” of both machines. Mine is a bit shallow, which makes it more prone to overflow liquids.
Nice to see a comparison with the VEVOR. I have had that VEVOR model for a year no and am very happy with it. It has a few negatives I can point out, but they are definitely not a deal breaker. One is the vacuum port is directly in front of the bag opening. This means that moisture from the bag goes right into the pump. Because of this you will need to keep an eye on the oil in the pump and change it when it gets cloudy. Another issue with mine is there is no window on the back so you can see the pump window. < This may have changed since I bought mine, but on mine i have to remove the back cover to check the oil. # 3, > with the seal bar being in the back of the chamber you'd have to use a really long bag to do the " over sized external bag vacuum trick" that can be done on a chamber sealer. The chamber could be a bit longer too. :) Good points of this machine are: It has a pretty big vacuum pump with a high rate of CFM and pulls a good vacuum. It has a wider sealing bar than most vacuum chambers. The vacuum pump can be replaced with a standard vacuum pump, plenty of room inside. And, the power switch is a circuit breaker, so if there is an issue it'll let you know by tripping. I also want to point out that oil vacuum pumps usually last longer than dry pumps and pull a stronger vacuum.
A year later and there is still no window in the back panel to view the oil level / quality. I chose this chambervac over the front seal bar models purely for the size of the chamber and seal bar. I decided that if I needed to do extra long bags or canisters/jars, I can still use my old FoodSucker from Sunbeam. It still sucks. I'm still deciding if that's in a good or bad way!
I got my recently and can see the oil level through the vent. I wish the top can be lift up/forward like DZ-260A or DZ-260S for easy access maintenance repair service.
I’d definitely stick with my Westin vacuum sealer, had it over a 2,years now it’s commercial grade they said way smaller and faster it seems from your video.
Big and heavy, but very nice to have. No need to wait for the sealer to cool off like external vac sealers. Mine is 62lbs and on a cart with wheels. I roll it into the kitchen when needed.
I bought my Vacmaster VP-210 in 2011. In 13 years, my maintenance has been 2 replacements of the sealing tape, and…. That’s it. It has been the best $1,000 I ever spent. Saved literally thousands of dollars, probably more than $20k in food waste savings in the 13 years of routine use. What I noted in your video was the vacuum gauge on the Vevor jumping and the brand new Vevor unit oscillating in sound. That is the pump struggling. Yes, you can buy 3 of them for the cost of the Vacmaster. I only know my experience, and I’d buy another Vacmaster if this one fails.
I've taken a good look at the insides of my Vevor. If it failed, a suitable replacement could be found for under a Benji at Harbor Freight or on Amazon. You could also upgrade the pump.
Great chamber vacuum sealer review Greg! - Thanks. This unit is more industrial than I think I would need - I wonder how the smaller (Anova) chamber sealers would fare in comparison? I have the Food Saver type of vacuum sealer and the liquid flowing into it is a mess and health hazard. - Cheers!
We have issues with our FoodSaver when processing fresh peeled/ sliced apples and when processing fresh fish. Both were allowing the internal juices to be sucked up into the machine which was A: gross af, B: unsanitary af, C: ruined the seal, as it’s not powerful enough to seal the bags if there is moisture in between the layers, D: ruined two machines (one taught us what was ruining it, the second was because we didn’t realize the apple juice was there- too clear in that dark chamber). We now clean that little reservoir in front of the sealer strip between EACH bag! Such a pain!!! That’s the reason we started looking at chamber vacs. We will probably relegate the FS to canning duties after we get a chamber vac. 😕(and keeping the wine from becoming expensive vinegar 😂)
Great video. Quick note- the metal plate in the Vevor takes up little volume. Likely more to raise your smaller bags up than to reduce volume to reduce vacuum time. The other machine has plastic plates that take up substantial volume and will reduce vacuum time- however that machine seemed to take longer anyways.
I did a similar comparison four years ago between the VacMaster VP210 and a Chinese made vacuum sealer bought from eBay that looked the same as Vevor but no brand name. The performances are about the same. The VacMaster is clean, polished. The plastic plates offered were useful when sealing a small bag with too much content in it. The only complain about VacMaster was its weight. It is about 80 lbs. Very difficult to move around. But if you compared the inside of the two units, you will see a big difference on the workmanship. The VacMaster has filters for the vacuuming pump input and output while as the Chinese unit dose not. The filter remove the fume of the vacuum pump oil. The VacMaster use food grade silicone tubing for the connections, while the Chinese unit use vinyl tubing, which might release plasticizer. The wiring and components of Vacmaster inside looks as beautiful as the outside, while as the Chinese unit looks really bad. In addition, the eBay sell does not offer any replacement parts for the machine.
Brad, what failed on your VacMaster? I purchased one from a lab that was not holding vacuum, turned out to be the plastic pistons that push the sealing bar up. I thought they were going to be at least $30+ each, at the time I purchased them they were only $6 each. Also purchased new heating elements and silicone pressure bar.
@@gregmay9097 It was an electrical issue, something shorted out and the vacuum would constantly run if the machine was plugged in. Vacmaster refunded instead of replaced because the VP200 model is discontinued.
@@bradseverin1969 know I’m 3 weeks late to this conversation, but I hope you spoke with a local restaurant supply store: if VM gave you a refund, use a couple hundred of that to get it fixed. That’s a simple vacuum pressure switch repair from your description. In my experience with restaurant equipment suppliers, they will offer refunds and say “don’t return the item to us, dispose of it locally” because it costs more to ship it back to themselves than it’s worth to them- they write it off. So with the broken unit and a refund both in your hand, spend a couple hundred to get it refurbished and you just got the deal of the century! I’m actually looking at a local restaurant supplier for a used/ refurbished VM to begin with, simply because they last for years under rigorous use in the industry (read “forever” in my home use application) and because they are rebuildable if they do fail. 😊
@Brad Severin what I ascertained from your comment is VacMaster stands by it's product. Nothing Beats solid customer service and 1yr warranty over 30days must be one of the reasons it's over 1K.
Nice video, looking to get the smaller Vevor model. How is it holding so far? Do you have a link of those bags? I can’t find the $50 per 1000. Thank you!
I wish he could have used a Vacmaster VP215, that way you would be comparing two oil driven vacuum pump models. Oil pumps are quieter and faster than dry pumps.
How well will the Vacmaster work with frozen pierogies? We make about 1400 dozen pierogies for our church fish fry. Thank you for the video, it was great!
The website says that all three of the vacuum chamber machines that vevor sells do not vacuum seal masonary jars. You mentioned that it does, are you able to do a video on sealing jars it would be nice to see? Gabriel
for those having issues with your seal a meal style, losing seal, triple seal, after you vacuum and seal, move the bag back a hair and just seal again, one more time, for things in freezers it doesn't seem to be an issues, for chicken and pork in the fridge? triple seal, push air out as it goes, triple seal.. also, using the reusable is better cuz it has a better seal on the bag itself, I've had one fail and after inspecting real well something had got in between the one way valve, I just cleaned it, and resealed, good to go, also I seal those bags on the other side of the zip lock for good measure, so place it in and seal only.. maybe double WORKS these chambers are by far the best no muss but until you can afford one you can hack your seal a meal to work better, also as he mentions this no mark material just seals better I think that's the problem with the seal a meal, the bags they give you are not all that good when it comes to melting and sealing, but boy the reusable are NICE! plus you can get into them and reseal, so if you use the burner to seal the zip lock style, go all the way to the end so you can heat seal many times over, stay as far away form the zip lock as possible, real good for things that do not last long once opened but you don't use it all very fast, reseal.. I think you can use those bags in a chamber style, at least I have seen commercial foods vacuum packed in them, never seen it done but I bought something not long ago vacuum sealed but it had a zip lock, which is nice either way .. great video sir, once I get some bills paid I am going to try one of these for my first, if I climb up I;; get the hi dollar one... gonna start a small boutique fish deal.. try it .. not for money, in fact I am so appalled at the price of smoked fish these days I am gong to do it for cost, and hopefully bring better fish and way better prices to the market, its way out of control, as a native American i get so many per season and I will basically slash some throats at the market.. in fact the name of the company is going to be "cutthroat trout" (a lot will be steelhead) so sick and tired of the greed mongering taking over our planet today.. pathetic, a tiny small 3 ounce piece of smoked sockeye salmon is $19 .. unreal, and its only going to get worse unless we do something about it, people if you have time, and love something like this we can turn all this around by saturation the market with cheap alternatives.. whatever kind of commodity you might enjoy a a hobby, clothing, woodworking, food whatever.. WE MUST FIGHT BACK! there is no reason a young developing boy or girl should be deprived of nutrient omega rich fish because his or her parents cannot afford it.. ridiculous, I'll be giving much of it away to the less fortunate, in fact I may do that alone of there are enough families that need it and want it.. I can distribute at food banks but I know how they operate, anymore they have drivers deliver and they steal what they want, I have heard of drivers selling it, eating it, giving it to friends, taking food out of mouths that will go hungry, some people.. i'll stand right out front of the food bank and hand it out myself, kids need good food to develop right, get their brains working right, if you can, please do... every little bit helps
Thank you for this video. So far, I'm happy with the Vevor. I did re-shim the lid hinge so it closed evenly, deburred the panels, and installed a few screws where they were missing. It did work out of the box, and the "mods" were for longevity. noise, and peace of mind (obsessive mechanic). Oh, I'll replace the junk "vaccum oil" in a few hours with proper stuff. No complaints for under $400. I would have regretted a $1k+ unit built, basically, the same way. Anyway, thank you. Time to get back to vaccing. 😄
VacOil's "ez grade" synthetic, but I run mine for long periods (hot). They make a less-expensive "Grade 20" that should still be top-performing. With this thing, I've learned the oil is like grease on tractor pins; replenishing it more often is better than trusting the good stuff for longer. That oil is basically 'bong water' for most of the evacuated air. If you're doing stuff that bubbles when vac'ed, liquids, or happen to slop, that oil will get contaminated pretty quickly and loose its anti-foam property (and corrode if it's water/steam). Ain't much oil in there. It's also important to remind that steam/vapor counts as liquid (vac lowers boiling points significantly). If price is a big factor, changing the oil more often (or after a mishap) should protect the pump better than pouring in gold and stretching the interval. As long as the viscocity is between 50-65 cSt and vapor pressure
I never measured it, but my guess is under 200mlL. One "small" bottle goes a long way. ...If price is a big factor, I suspect it's better to change oil with cheap stuff rather than hold out for a better grade. Any of the vacuum oils for HVAC service pumps should work (and be much cheaper). What's in these sealers is basically a small version of what an HVAC tech would have.

The DZ line of chamber sealers are the cheapest made vacuum pumps and cabinets in China and you will find them with many brand names on them. No warranty or service to speak of.. the old saying "you get what you pay for" is true on these units....
Great review am considering making a purchase of the Vevor. A question I have and have been unable to find an answer to is how much does altitude effect the vacuum performance of the machine? I live at 5300' above sea level.
If anything, it should be even better at altitude. There is no vacuum pump in the world that can produce 100% vacuum, it's always 99.X%. So a tiny bit of air will remain in the chamber. If you're at a higher altitude, the pump only has to work against a lower outside pressure, so it can achieve a better vacuum.
Just got my vevor last week and it’s not pulling all the air out. The gauge gets to the green but stops moving towards the bottom and I still have some air in the bag when fininshed
Just increase the vacuum time. My unit will take 18-20s to get 1st green mark and 25s all the way down last mark. I set 25-30s for meat,, around 15s for softer fresh vegetable like tomato, and about 10s for bread. Hope this help.
@@wagz1002 I am still using left over bag from my cheap Foodsaver. It tends to leak around 5%, which isn't good. If I have to buy new bag, I would go with thicker bag 4 mil. All bags probably made in China.

Check with a local restaurant supply store that offers used/ refurbished equipment. They may have a replacement sealer strip from a different brand that you could substitute for the vevor’s. Bring your strip with you along with the wattage, if you can find it in the literature/ on the label/ in the internet to their parts counter. Hi Greg, Are you doing any Sous Vide cooking? Would love to see what you can do. As we purchased a Joule SV machine and cooked both a Skirt and Picanha steaks. SV them for 1.5 hours at 130 F. The skirt came out terrible and the picanha was average at best. Since it it just my wife and I, wondering if the chamber machine is overkill. Any suggestions would be appreciated . Thanks so much we are long time supportive of your channels .
It would have been a better comparison to use the VacMaster VP215 rotary oil pump. I have the 215 for over 10yrs. No problems whatsoever, change oil in pump as recommended. But like you said you could buy 2 for the price of VacMaster. But long term… in 10yrs will the 2 Vevors both be working? There may be a reason why they’re so cheap….
I’ve had my VP 215 for five years and the seals in the pump are bad it’s about a $400 repair for another cheap Chinese oil pump And who knows how hard it is going to be to install
Hey Greg good to see you back. My desire for sealing liquids and being a little short on cash, I bought the new Weston vac sealer that is not a chamber vac. So far, so good.
I'd like to get a chamber sealer, but I don't have a place to put one at the moment. I've got my eye on the Meat! one though, as it's the only one I can find with a lifetime warranty.
Are you sure about the model number you said at time mark 0:30? You said DZ-320. I could not find any such model on the Vevor web site. They do have the model DZ-260C in two different (sealing bar) sizes which is a little confusing. They one you have appears to be the larger of the two with a 320mm x 10mm sealing size and the smaller one (and cheaper one) has a 260mm x 8mm sealing size. That might be where you are getting the "320" from. The difference is very important since some of the larger bags are 12" wide (305mm) and a 260mm wide (10.2") sealing bar just won't cut it.
Regifting is the new old gifting. 🤪 Actually, put it in the camper like we are going to do once we get our chamber vac: it’ll reseal those bottles of wine after the camp fire has gone out so they don’t turn into expensive vinegar waiting for the next camping trip. 😇 And FS makes AWESOME mini marshmallows for hot chocolate! 😋
I think for the average home owner.. or apartment dweller theses machines are way to big and heavy and most of all expensive. Something like a Meat 16” now on sale for $199.00 is a better option.. lifetime warranty also…
Vacmaster is designed in Europe. This is however a comparison of two Chinese built machines. We all know why. There are some very good units being manufactured in Italy, USA and Canada... All cost more up front and will save you in the long run. The gold standard... the units that are multi-generational, are built by Turbovac out of the Netherlands. As for Vevor.... contact them and say you have a failed pump on an out of warranty unit. Tell them you want to buy a replacement part. Good luck. The machine will go to landfill. Vacmaster I believe will at least maintain parts. Turbovac has parts on 40 year old machines.... The Italian, USA and Canadian machines are also great though.... don't overlook them.... The quality of the stainless steel is also questionable with Vevor.... . I tested some Vevor equipment that was made from "stainless steel". It was not. The stainless is very high carbon and corrodes. This becomes problematic... especially if you have a need for sanitary metal
@@lobes187 Neglected? Um... How many times do you want to spend the $1K on Chinese garbage that dies 3 months after the warranty ends? It's not even real stainless steel... c'mon.... My turbovac's (got a few) cost much less to own than any overseas rubbish that's designed to fail (that is the literal quote from a buyer I know. They are designed to last 3 years, then die) . I have units European and US units over 40 years old that work like new.... same goes for slicers, grinders and everything of the like. Even if the were made nearly as well (they're not) Perhaps we want to reconsider who we do business with and why we do it..... I think it's kind of weird that you did a video on what is supposed to recommend the best vacuum packing machine, without looking at the actual "best" machines. You just went with common and popular and available and cheap.... and the brands that claim a "pro product". Perhaps you should relabel your evaluations as indicating the Chinese manufactured, consumer grade equipment? I like what you're doing. Just not what equipment you use.

I wish the top can be lift up/forward like DZ-260A or DZ-260S for easy access maintenance repair service.
can you use the other vacuum bags with that machine?
Yes, you can use the FoodSaver type bags
And amazons’ bulk Mylar bags as well. 👍
I’d definitely stick with my Westin vacuum sealer, had it over a 2,years now it’s commercial grade they said way smaller and faster it seems from your video.
How tall of a product can you put in it? Can you use it for like a 6lb pork butt ?
Thanks for this video, Greg. I've always wanted a chamber vac.
I own the $1K and it does not need to have its oil changed and will last forever. It always works and i have had this for years now.
Those things are huge, but they look like they work really good!
I have the VP- 215 and it is several years old. The pump on it has always been steady compared to the Vevor you showed. We have really😊 used it a lot.
Thanks mister! Now I need one!
i have a Avid Armor Chamber Vacuum Sealer USVX Ultra Series. its fantastic
Avid Armor has some smaller units for $332-$408.
Thanks for pronouncing height correctly and not pronouncing it hith
What is the largest size bag you can use with the Vivor DZ-260C?
Great video. Quick note- the metal plate in the Vevor takes up little volume. Likely more to raise your smaller bags up than to reduce volume to reduce vacuum time. The other machine has plastic plates that take up substantial volume and will reduce vacuum time- however that machine seemed to take longer anyways.
I thought this as well.
Where have you been?
I’m glad you made this video, I had a vacmaster that broke after 9 months. Looking to replace it but not sure if I want to spend top dollar again.
Great video and explanation. I have no experience with vacuum sealers but I appreciate the info!
Nice video, looking to get the smaller Vevor model.
How is it holding so far?
Do you have a link of those bags? I can’t find the $50 per 1000.
Thank you!
Thanks for a nice review Ballistic!
I wish he could have used a Vacmaster VP215, that way you would be comparing two oil driven vacuum pump models. Oil pumps are quieter and faster than dry pumps.
Dig your cooking vids, but this was a good video, Greg.
A lot of these Chinese companies make things for multiple brands.
I was just looking into these type sealers and wondered how they worked, great timing Greg!
Of all the videos on these , this one is the best. Thank you, great info.
Gabriel
Thanks for the review, seems like an affordable option.
for those having issues with your seal a meal style, losing seal, triple seal, after you vacuum and seal, move the bag back a hair and just seal again, one more time, for things in freezers it doesn't seem to be an issues, for chicken and pork in the fridge? triple seal, push air out as it goes, triple seal.. also, using the reusable is better cuz it has a better seal on the bag itself, I've had one fail and after inspecting real well something had got in between the one way valve, I just cleaned it, and resealed, good to go, also I seal those bags on the other side of the zip lock for good measure, so place it in and seal only.. maybe double WORKS
these chambers are by far the best no muss but until you can afford one you can hack your seal a meal to work better, also as he mentions this no mark material just seals better I think that's the problem with the seal a meal, the bags they give you are not all that good when it comes to melting and sealing, but boy the reusable are NICE! plus you can get into them and reseal, so if you use the burner to seal the zip lock style, go all the way to the end so you can heat seal many times over, stay as far away form the zip lock as possible, real good for things that do not last long once opened but you don't use it all very fast, reseal..
I think you can use those bags in a chamber style, at least I have seen commercial foods vacuum packed in them, never seen it done but I bought something not long ago vacuum sealed but it had a zip lock, which is nice either way ..
great video sir, once I get some bills paid I am going to try one of these for my first, if I climb up I;; get the hi dollar one... gonna start a small boutique fish deal.. try it .. not for money, in fact I am so appalled at the price of smoked fish these days I am gong to do it for cost, and hopefully bring better fish and way better prices to the market, its way out of control, as a native American i get so many per season and I will basically slash some throats at the market.. in fact the name of the company is going to be "cutthroat trout" (a lot will be steelhead) so sick and tired of the greed mongering taking over our planet today.. pathetic, a tiny small 3 ounce piece of smoked sockeye salmon is $19 .. unreal, and its only going to get worse unless we do something about it,
people if you have time, and love something like this we can turn all this around by saturation the market with cheap alternatives.. whatever kind of commodity you might enjoy a a hobby, clothing, woodworking, food whatever..
Yup Vacmaster is a fail. There’s no support go cheap.
What oil did you end up using? I heard there's a no-spray oil but I'm not sure what to buy.
Yeah, I hate my vacuum sealer. Sucks shit into the actual workings.
Another victim of Costco’s FoodSaver special, just like the rest of us! 🥺 “Hi, my name is Jenn, I’ve bought 1 SealAMeal and 3 FoodSavers. I didn’t know there were other options. It’s not my fault! 😭”
Does it have an accessory port with a hose?
Sup Greg, awesome review, always wanted a chamber vac for home, food saver bags get so expensive, machines too. Still have the vevor griddle you emailed me about and still working, ty again brother, will keep eye on the site for chamber vac, sometimes massive sales, I did find out about the returns, after the 30-60 days? They won't replace but give a 'partial credit ' by how long do can buy something else. Looks solid, someday🤞, I'm rebuilding so? Tyvm tc 🍔🥩
Might consider this as a replacement should my VP-120 ever die. I've used it 7 yrs, had to replace main board once under are warranty 6yrs so. I love the counter top design. It's a shame they discontinued itl.
Vacmaster be like, "WTF!"
Do they seal Mylar
Will they seal 5 mil thick Mylar or retort bags?
It should by increase the sealing time.
I'd be sealing up everything in my whole fucking house! LOL!
I don't use the word myself, but I just spit my coffee out.
I buy steaks in bulk and have my butcher vacuum them up for me.
The DZ line of chamber sealers are the cheapest made vacuum pumps and cabinets in China and you will find them with many brand names on them. No warranty or service to speak of.. the old saying "you get what you pay for" is true on these units....
IMO. The biggest advantage of the chamber vacs over a food saver-type machine is the chamber vac bags are much, much cheaper.
That price is a deal if the thing holds out!
@DLong-wp8su I am finding different pouches are sealing differently with my vevor, any suggestions or info on why?
@@wagz1002 I am still using left over bag from my cheap Foodsaver. It tends to leak around 5%, which isn't good. If I have to buy new bag, I would go with thicker bag 4 mil. All bags probably made in China.
Would a whole chicken fit in the vevor vac chamber?
Hi Greg question. Does the vevor vac smoke a little when using it?
My smell oil due to shipping contain up side down at some point and the oil leak inside the shipping box, NO SMOKE when in use. Did you put vacuum oil in the pump?
Vevor dual seal is for when you place 2 bags in there to seal at the same time.
Will either seal retort bags?
Is there a good chamber vacuum sealer made in USA?
are you getting a commission from the link if we buy from it? because that can cause bias.
Nice video thanks.
As you mentioned you cannot test the longevity of both devices.
A lower cost chamber model + adding the 4 year warranty via amazon is what I'm going to do.
VEVOR Chamber Vacuum Sealer DZ-260C 424.99$ now.
I have the vevor, i didnt know the stainless steel is removable. Ty for the info 😂
I am interested to use a chamber vac (probably Vevor) with my freeze dryer. Will it seal mylar?
Yes, it does! 🤗
That’s exactly why we are getting one! Our HR XL shows up Tuesday, and we are getting a vacuum chamber sealer to set beside it on the opposite side as the upright deep freezer with the other 6 trays in it: 25 year food storage station all in one place! Cook it, freeze it, dry it, vacuum seal it, label it, shelve it, sleep well at night. 😎
Do u think you still have to use an oxygen absorber still with the vacuum sealer
@@keithrepace118 if you are planning on long term storage in mylar, i would say yes. Under a year or so, I wouldn't bother. I ended up buying an AvidArmour, and love it. I store a lot of ingredients in canning jars- just take a bit out and toss it back into the sealer. So easy!
Very nice review! Very informative. I think that I will be looking into one of these Vevor Machines. Thank You!
Do these seal mylar bags?
Our machines can do it.
Could you do a sous vide video using that please?
Big difference in price. Wonder how long the cheaper one will last?
My Vacmaster lasted just enough for it to be discontinued and it’s weakest link to crack. It’s now a boat anchor. F Vacmaster they haven’t responded to me. Buy the cheap disposable one every time these days because there is no recourse. I’m pretty angry because I went with Vacmaster because it supposedly would be repairable and not become said boat anchor when a part broke.
@@fleedermouse I have the VacMaster and the seals went out. The pump is Chinese crap and I believe everything about it is Chinese crap it sucks because I loved it. But it is now a Chinese boat anchor.
I have a vevor. I like it, but the sealing strip burnt out and they don’t offer replacements
Those guys are usually more than helpful to get you back up & running again, in my experience. 😊
The seal bar is metal so not burn out. You may need to replace the Teflon cloth.
Since this was our first try I am thinking maybe I need a better vacuum chamber type sealer as we used baggies and tried to get out the air. Since it it just my wife and I, wondering if the chamber machine is overkill. Any suggestions would be appreciated . Thanks so much we are long time supportive of your channels .
But--- Can it suck up a brisket?
Not nearly as fast as your drunk buddy Jimbo can! 🤣
As a hunter, I can say I'm buying one today!
Can it accomadate and seal a packer brisket
Our machines can do it, and they do it with great quality.
What length is the sealbar
The VEVOR is 12.2 inches.
Is that Vevor big enough to do a whole 4lb chicken?
It is 4.5" height inside the chamber so anything larger will not fit.
Any experienced one Vacuming Croissants? I cannot find a video on YT
I'd like to get a chamber sealer, but I don't have a place to put one at the moment. I've got my eye on the Meat! one though, as it's the only one I can find with a lifetime warranty.
Nice seeing ya' Greg
Whenever companies only offer very short warranties for expensive products it makes me doubt the confidence the manufacturers have in their products.
He has the DZ-260C, the bigger of the 2. The vacuum pump in it is considerately bigger than most Chamber sealers.
Jesus is LORD
Lesson learned, thank you Greg!
Now, what to do with that ”other” sealer…..🤔
Regifting is the new old gifting. 🤪
Actually, put it in the camper like we are going to do once we get our chamber vac: it’ll reseal those bottles of wine after the camp fire has gone out so they don’t turn into expensive vinegar waiting for the next camping trip. 😇
And FS makes AWESOME mini marshmallows for hot chocolate! 😋
Good review! Thank you.
The new industry standard is Meat! - Theirs is made in the US, has a lifetime warranty and is cheaper than VacMaster 😮
Vevor looks impressive especially when compared to the Avidarmor double the price.
That model is now $300, I just bought one , thanks for the review
I think for the average home owner.. or apartment dweller theses machines are way to big and heavy and most of all expensive. Something like a Meat 16” now on sale for $199.00 is a better option.. lifetime warranty also…
Great video, thanks for the info!
I just looked into turbovac. You neglected to mention that an equivalent size machine goes for about $5k.
That's a pretty penny for that cheap sealer. I mean, damn... or am I a cheapo with my crappy $30 one? LOL
If you seal a bunch of stuff the cheaper bags make a big difference. Chamber vac bags are super cheap compared to food saver bags, even to no name brands. It adds up over time.
