You're the first teacher that's actually made sense of the jazz chords I learned years ago. Normally I could never get through an hour video lesson but you stay directly on topic and explain it all SO well. Thank you Djence, you are truly doing a service to the world.
Actually, on the Chorus comment: Mac Demarco used to have a recorder that had a chorus setting on it, but it also had a mix knob that would allow him to determine how much of the dry signal and how much of the FX signal was being heard. So what he did, was turn it up all the way to the wet signal, so no dry signal was being heard. The effect that you then get is a Vibrato indeed! So if you want to go for the true Mac sound, get yourself a chorus pedal that allows you to mix the amount of dry signal that comes in and then get rid of all the dry sound. This video takes you through some of the gear he currently uses live: ruclips.net/video/xfD60stuZAw/видео.html
I just watched this and thought it was incredible and thought about commenting timestamps to help others and saw they were in the description... You've got it down my dude! :D
I just bought an electric guitar 2 weeks ago and i am now learning, you and mac demarco were a big inspiration to learn! Love your videos so much. From London🇬🇧🤍🎸
14:49 the dominant 7 returning to the root chord, is an example of a secondary dominant chord which is often used to switch keys by providing a satisfying cadence (often going unnoticed by the listener) but works really well in this context. Very interesting.
i love ur videos and intros so much u truly don’t know how much you’ve helped me on my journey for playing guitar, also any chance you can do a video like this on king krule been wanting to write music like him
