    Honest review of the popular Factor 75 meal service. Is it worth the high cost? Is the Food Good? I'll go over my personal "pros" and cons" on a product that I tended to recommend given I heard such good things about it. I'm a believer in prepping or at least setting some set routine meals for at least one meal a day to help you stay on track. I find in today's environment, it takes a disciplined person to stay on point with their diet with zero planning or structure. So services like this, while expensive, may be an ideal solution considering most people's lifestyles.

    Thanks for the video. I have been receiving meals from Factor 75 for several weeks now. You mentioned that the meals were around $10. Although I'm still in the new customer discount mode, the numbers I'm seeing will end up being $15.50 landed price (protein/chefs choice) . I'm okay with that, but there is no correlation between what is advertised price-wise and what the actual final price turns out to be.

    I received a coupon for cheaper meals and it was pretty awesome for a pre-packaged food service. Meals are balanced and pretty healthy. No seed oils or gross additives and the macros were pretty balanced. If you’re into lifting or bodybuilding you may need to add one protein snack or shake to hit your protein goal, but overall the food was healthy and pretty tasty. I recommend. Meal plans are fully customizable to fit your macro goals too

    I like to prepare my food and cook it for myself. My wife is a great cook, but we like different foods. I eat a lot of fresh veggies, eggs, meat, chicken, and turkey. I try to stay away from rice and potatoes. I like Ronzoni Turmeric Pasta but in moderation. When I do go out to eat at a fine restaurant I'm a sucker for Italian, Asian, and Mexican food. I'm not a Monk.

    I have been doing it for a few months now. I have had a hard time meal planning keto and this has me in line. Spot on with the review, tastes great but expensive. High sodium too. Wife and I have been subscribing for a while and getting two to three dinners a week. One "con" for me that you didn't mention Mike, that I'd like to get some feedback from you and/or the community about is the packing material they use to keep your food cold. We try to be as green as possible without being crazy about it, so the cardboard box gets recycled...we even clean up the food trays and recycle them. I'm going to figure out a way to repurpose some of the insulation strips especially the ones that have the reflective surface for a kind of radiant barrier in the garage. Anyway, the one thing I struggle with is the bags of frozen gel. There just isn't a good way to get rid of that stuff . I tried doing one suggestion that said to pour it out and try to dry it out and after 5 days of sitting in a tray in my hot garage it still wasn't dry and I was like nope..this isn't gonna work. Not if we are getting two more of those big bags weekly. So question is...anyone figure out what to do with that stuff other than just toss it in the trash can?

    • @vi5ion
      @vi5ion Год назад +3

      Nope, that is definitely a con, lots of waste. I transfer all the meals to glass and baked them.

    • @pghcraig
      @pghcraig 9 месяцев назад +1

      The bags of gel were an issue with every service I tried - and they have yet to come up with a good alternative that will keep the food cold. I wish they could pick the packs up when they deliver and just resue them - which I have done for coolers and stuff or summer Costco runs where I don't want to have to run home right after - but you can only keep so many. I wish there was something that could be done with them besides tossing them - and I don't think putting them down the drain is much better because then its in the water supply with most modernized water systems reusing waste water.

    I just signed up for the Keto "friendly" meals. I went shopping for keto friendly foods and they aren't cheap. If you can find them. $1.60 for regular spaghetti sauce turns into $5.00 not to mention the same for the keto pasta and on and on.. So when you look at the per meal prices you should FACTOR that in (pun unintended). I think this is a great deal considering 12 to 15 bucks these days is mostly fast food country. I can't go there anymore and expect stay healthy.

    I recently subscribed to this service BECAUSE I was sick and tired of FASTFOOD (hamburgers and tacos). I was paying $15-$20 a meal. When I TASTED my first FACTOR MEAL (yesterday from today), I was HOOKED! It's no exaggeration that the taste is RESTAURANT QUALITY! I'm a BIG GUY too, so I'm doing the HIGH PROTEIN MEALS and they are filling. I do cheat, and went to Whole Foods to buy some sourdough bread in order to have 2 slices with each meal. I AM FULL after each meal and my 2 slices of bread. I know this is still a lot healthier many times over than having fast-food for lunch every day. The sodium might be high but it was too w/ fast-food plus I try to drink a lot of water throughout my day. These meals are worth it even at $15 a meal because they are quality meals, and they are filling and they keep you away from eating JUNK FOOD. I just hope they drop the price for us frequent "flyers". So if you are a GORDITO (fat boy) like me, just add some healthy bread to it for extra sustenance. You'll still be better off than eating fast-food.

      I’ve never tried it, but I’m tempted to. Here’s a couple things to keep in mind regarding Factor:
      1. They’ve been bought by Hello Fresh. We tried Hello Fresh & actually liked it, but didn’t have time to prep all the food. With the chopping, forming burger patties, making sauces & cooking, HF took too much time. We both work long hours & don’t want to eat late. Factor seems like it might eliminate that problem if the food is good. HF also had an easy website to navigate & good customer service when things went wrong. Factor will probably benefit from that under their management.
      2. Someone mentioned the high fat content being an issue. If Factor food is indeed fresh with no preservatives & low sugar (Keto), you are better off eating that then most highly processed, high sugar foods here in the US. This is why food in Europe tends to be healthier than the US. European food tends to have higher fat, but much less sugar than in the US. You can look up research that shows that.

This is offered to anyone who uses Factor. I legit do like the product and actually have a box out for delivery today. As I was saying at the start the only incentive I'm getting is "free food".

    TOTAL SCAM!!! I signed up for the service, followed the prompts, and 10 minutes later decided to cancel the service. They charged me $60 regardless of the cancellation saying that I had "missed the cut-off." Apparently I got interested, and signed into their service all within the last 10 minutes to spare. Seem outrageously convenient for them? It is. They refuse to give my money back and are wasting the first box of food by shipping it to my home even though I won't be home. This company cares more about stealing your wallet than providing an up-front and honest experience. No reason I should be charged. No reason my$60 shouldn't be coming back to me for a cancelled service. You mean to tell me March 30th within 10 minutes of scrolling isn't enough time to keep them from charging me for June 6th? Come on guys. This is a scam and they'll be out of business soon.

      Wow, hate to hear that. I think they are owned by hello fresh. Whenever I fully cancel (I usually post pone meals), I will remember this.

    I am really disappointed in Factor. You have to take a very close look at the nutritional information before you pick your meals. I ordered mostly from the protein plus and keto categories. All the meals I've tried so far have been super high in fat and especially saturated fat. The sun dried tomatoe chicken with zucchini noodles, for instance, has a 22g of saturated fat. Pretty much all of the 640 calories come from the pool of cream-based sauce the small piece of chicken breast is drowning in. I would prefer a larger portion of protein and vegetables with less sauce. If you are looking for a healthy prepared meal that is at least somewhat comparable to a home cooked meal, this is not the place. I really wasnt impressed with the taste of the meals either. I wouldnt mind paying a premium for the convenience of a premade healthy meal, but these are absolutely not worth $12 each. I canceled my plan after the first discounted box. And I still have a bunch of meals in the fridge that I am considering giving away to friends.

      Sorry to hear about your experience. Definitely the keto meals are high in fat / saturated fat, but to push back a little, I'd say that's par for the course for most keto diets regardless. Totally understand the concern (even for the cream-based sauces), but again, that's not unusual and even recommended for keto. When I knew I was eating one those meals in the day, I generally was a little mindful of my total fat content for that day. Also, I still stand by review that if you're using a discount code where you're getting each meal for ~$5, I'd say that's fair all things considered. Agree, the full price is up there and might as well go out to Chipotle. As for the flavor, it's subjective for sure, but I genuinely really liked everything I tried and thought they were the best microwaved meals I ever had. I actually just ordered another round of 10 meals using discounts and referral points.

      It’s a referral code that anyone who uses factor gets. I get no $ kickback just credits for factor75. This is what I used for my first order (and apparently what others are pulling off multiple times).
