Also to note that not only the gear is being worn down but also the mechanism that is responsible for turning said gear is made out of the same plastic. Opened bad boy up to find both of them turned into dust with a little grind left on the motor gear and a completely stripped gear that has to be wrapped with the wire. When I changed it (because I was still optimistic at this point) had to take off whole panel and tape the gear with it wrapped twice on both sides and finagle the wire on the back on the dohickey. Hard feat but I’m thinking it’s totally worth it the dude at the shop quoted me almost 500. Well the gear attached to the motor that moves said gear in video was too far gone too. Now I’m going to a car dump to see if I can buy motors off old cars.
The problem is wrapping the wire around the gear and getting it tight enough to work which your video is not showing.

The dealer doesn’t sell the plastic get alone. You have to but the whole assembly.
You can buy the gear on eBay for about $40 usd. Better than spending $120+labor for the whole regulator
