Great video and I want you to know I've had to replace both back doors within 2yrs. Just finished replacing my right side today!

Yeah it's weird all 4 of these went out within like 4 months of each other. almost like planned obsolescence... glad the video was helpful for you!

You didn’t show how to put the new regulator on. Ugh that’s the important part.

My window just stopped working. After researching results.. I’m assuming the regulator and the motor are attached together? And not separate parts?

My rear right window randomly stopped responding to all power requests from driver panel and passenger panel to go up or down. I'm wondering if that indicates it's just the motor that is bad or the whole regulator panel.

Same here. It just happened. It doesn't even sound like it's moving so I'm figuring that the motor crapped out

@@egonzalez1d yeah, I don't hear any noise either. Haven't tried replacing anything.

always a safe bet to get both, I'd hate to put it all back together and a month later have to pull it back apart. The part that typically fails is the plastic teeth on the regulator which allows the motor so spin but doesn't move the window at all.

Great what I'm stuck on you did with the $oor panel facing away from camera. Stuck on how to disconnect latch lock cables

I just pulled on them and they came right out. Snapped right back in afterwards too.

Would it be necessary to disconnect the car battery before working this kind of replacement? Mine is a Kia Optima LX so pretty much the same parts. I've already had to replace the trunk latch; it was plug-n-play for the sensor cable so I didn't need to cut the battery...

It's ALWAYS a good idea to disconnect the battery before any repairs on a car, but I did not disconnect it. If this car had airbags in the doors, it would've absolutely been necessary.

Where did you get the parts from

I had to order mine from Kia/Hyundai. They're expensive and the only place I could find new ones at the time.

Bs. How to remove window from the mechanism? Nobody ever shows that.

Maybe re-read the title? Window Regulator and Motor Replacement. If you're trying to remove the window altogether, maybe search for another video.
