    Those mechanical pencils are more precious than gold in our house! They are so comfortable and that twist up eraser is the best. No smudging, no pilling, no chunking off, nothing. Not sure what we'll do if Paper Mate ever discontinues that design.

    I have the same Fiskar trimmer but did not realize it had a protective plastic covering...glad you mentioned that. TFS!

    I am also a huge fan of the Fiskars Trimmers and you are right -- IF a wire goes bad, they will happily replace it!! I bought my first one, base on your recommendation! I have the three and (different size/design) and they are the best EVER! I seem to have a LOVE for many of the same tools...but I do think a LOT of that comes from learning about them from you!! Thanks Jennifer

    I love my Fiskars cutter but have had tons of trouble with it eating blades. I found out by your video that it isn't me...It is the wire. I called Fiskars and they are sending me out a new wire. Wow, I would have never thought they would be so helpful. And thanks to you, I will be buying Titanium blades. I didn't know they made these. Thanks for all the videos you make and for making my crafting more fun.

    I use the same machine for paper & fabric, I just use my old needles for paper. That way, I don't mess up needles sharp enough for fabric! I checked with my Bernina store and as long as I keep your machine maintained and clean, they tell me it won't hurt my machine. Thank you for this video!

    Wow! Some great new products! More things to put on my Christmas "wants" list! Another tip on mounting a Ranger Craft Mat-I used a Cricut mat that had lost most of it's "stick". I applied a little adhesive to the mat and stuck my Ranger mat to it and presto! Also I have a 3M hook on the side of a cabinet right beside my work surface and hang it there for whenever I want it. I have a table-top size self-healing mat on my table that always stays there, but having the Ranger mat hanging right at hand for ink or paint work is very convenient. Thanks for all the awesome tips!

    Love your video's always full of great tips. I purchased my Fiskars trimmer after seeing you use yours and I too love it, being left handed I have had problems with cutting straight when using other trimmers but not this one. Your craft mat idea is great and I love the look of the Misti.

    Hi Jennifer, love your videos!
    Your sewing machine is fine to use on paper and material. You just might like to change your needle as the paper would probably blunt you needle, so have a few needles, some for paper and others for material 😄

    I love micropore tape! Sometimes when making rosettes cut with dies, the fold lines tear and I reenforce them with micropore tape because it is thin.

    Thank you Jennifer for all of the great ideas! I always learn something new when I watch your videos.:) I had a question about the Dahle mat. Is it heat resistant? I often heat emboss or use the heat gun near my craft mat so I wouldn't want to warp it if I used this idea? But I love the idea!

    How do you get replacement blades that you know will fit?

  • @monkeyheadbonkers9303
    @monkeyheadbonkers9303 9 лет назад

    Hi Jennifer. I have a quick question. So, I use the same cutter based on your suggestion but for some reason, I notice that I can't always get it straight. I can't tell if it's b/c Im putting more pressure in one area more than another when I pull down the blade? I notice it's usually at the end. I'm very OCD haha and I notice that it isnt straight. You don't ever have this problem? I dont know what else I could be doing wrong!

    • @jennifermcguireink
      @jennifermcguireink  9 лет назад

      MonkeyheadBONKERS that may be the problem. it cuts straight for me everytime. :(

    • @terridean4784
      @terridean4784 9 лет назад

      MonkeyheadBONKERS I have the same problem. I think my lines are not exactly straight. I saw a video where someone used a triangular ruler with at least one 90 degree angle to help ensure a straight line. It would only work for smaller measurements that fit on the body of the cutter though because you take the top and the one side of the ruler that create the 90 degree angle and place it next to your paper and against the top of your cutter. This ensures that your paper is straight. Continue holding down the ruler as you cut so the paper doesn't shift. I haven't tried this yet because I have problems cutting certain papers. I get raggedy edges. I think it is just the cheap paper packs from Michaels, because even new blades create raggedy edges. I've been using a different cutter but I can't see the measurements as well so I need to get a triangular ruler and try using my original cutter again. I also get curved edges sometimes with the cutter in question and I'm not sure if I'm using unequal pressure against the wire or what. I'm hoping the ruler helps.

    Love the craft sheet and mat idea. It slips too much but won't now! Does anyone know where post it tape can be found? I have not seen it anywhere. I am a nurse so micropore tape is abundant.

      a T-ruler is also called a T square ruler. It is a common drafting and artist tool. There must be a store in your country that sells them? Our office supply stores here carry them. Staples and etc. Are there any architecture companies, artist schools or etc you could call to see where they get their supplies?
