Another excellent and very complete video, you are great letting us know everything! I have used primacolor ages ago and even painted pictures with them, my original set is from the late 80s and looks so much different, the pencils are hexagonal!
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for sharing all of your favorites. I have always appreciated that you show us the products in detail so that we can decide if they will work for us. I never saw distress sprays up close before, and they look beautiful! I have been looking for an opaque white and this looks perfect. Thank you so much for sharing. Take care, Kim :)
I love using Gamsol. I'd rather color with pencils than with markers. I'd like to try the Spectrum Noir pencils someday. I like the idea of three colors of each one. Thank you so much for demonstrating all the different types of products. I always learn so much from you.
Great video on the basic coloring methods. I'm going to try the Peerless one day. Very interesting in seeing all the different ways. Thank you for sharing them with us.
This was a very informative video. I had no idea how many products were out there to use for water coloring. Love the Spectrum Noir pencils. I would love to try those one of these days. I have the markers and am, with practice, getting better at coloring. Thanks for sharing your ideas on the products.
Another great video! Thank so much for doing them. I am a little surprised that Inktense pencils didn't make the cut . I just love them & the Prismacolor pencils too.
Hey, Teresa, great idea. I have a Pinterest account, but I never use it. So guess what, I just pinned this video. Hope you don't mind a lurky copy cat.
Judith Meyer Not at all Judith. Its a great way to save them to refer back to. I love a great idea and I am happy to share them. After all, I'm taking ideas from Jennifer! LOL ---"Happy pinning!"
Have you ever used Staedtler Karar Aquarell watercolour pencils? My father bought me a set of 48 way back in 1960 when he was in Virgin Islands. I used them a lot as I grew up then just packed them away and kept moving them around with me for years. I pulled them out again in 1999 when I started stamping. I LOVE them but how do they compare with others? Do I feel so fond of them because my dad (deceased) gave them to me while he was protecting USA during The Bay of Pigs or are they really an excellent product? Used to see them at General craft stores in the 90's but now only at art stores like back in the 60-80's. I'd appreciate your opinions. Thanks
Quite a few of your distress markers are not capped correctly! They will dry out- I learned that the hard way!!! If you can see the black ring around the cap then they are not air tight and will dry out! Just an FYI!!
Thank you so much for these videos. I am trying to decide on the pencils. I have heard good things about both and was leaning toward the Prisma. Then heard they have changed where the pencils are made and are having some trouble with them. Have you heard this and do you think it is a valid con in deciding between types of pencils. Again thank you for taking the time to share all of these great videos.
I am not Jennifer, but in have to say that the quality of Prismacolor pencils has gone WAY down. There is zero quality control and as a result the leads break (even within the barrel) which causes you to go through the pencils quickly, making them even more expensive. I used to LOVE Prismacolor, but if you are looking for a good high end pencil I would recommend the Caran D'Ache Luminence, they are costly though, so perhaps the Spectrum Noir would be more budget friendly for you. It depends on what you use your colored pencils for, the Caran D'Ache are the only pencils were every single color is lightfast, so you never have to worry about your work fading, however, if you aren't selling your pieces, this may not be an issue. I hope this helped, maybe Jennifer will have another answer for you.
I noticed that your Tim Holtz markers had the black showing below the cap, did you leave them partially open for the vid? I know if the black is showing that they are not totally capped and will dry out. Do you have to buy more if they dry out or can they be refilled? Thank you. Hugs
I just don't get the love for the Spectrum Noir Pencils. I bought 2 sets, Nature and Marine and they are AWFUL. They brake often, the colors do not match the tips, they do not blend at you hardly get any color from them. Cannot compare them to Prismacolor, I own the 150 set and they're a dream.

Thanks to both of you . This was a big help.
What type of paper would you use for the Japanese set of watercolors, or any watercolors for that matter? Love the video!
What are your thoughts on the spectrum noir markers? I saw the pencils were featured but not the markers. Love your videos - I am learning so much!
Katie Gannon i have not used them. i love my copics.
