    I have an awesome update! I found out I have insulin restistance 2 weeks ago and went to a hormone specialist. She has me on a modified paleo. No grai s, no sugar, no dairy, no white potatoes...also I'm still fasting from 7pm-11am. Well. I am down 18 lbs as of this morning! I am in size large shirts now. I have 64 lbs to go!

    Practicing Time Restricted Eating (Satchin Panda's Circadian Code book) 14:10 and lost 11 pounds in less than 3 months! What really helped me was changing my eating window to be earlier in the day: 9:30am (2 hours after waking up) and eating my largest meal and most carbs at that meal, Lunch is protein heavy and some fats and complex carbs, dinner by 7:30pm has more fat to get through the fast and protein plus 1/2 cup complex carb to get through the night! It has been great, except my sleep is off. I keep waking up at 5am with adrenaline and cortisol surging. I am losing weight so fast that I think my body is confused!

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад +3

      So the idea is if it is back to back, it’s simple to remember. I don’t have to wonder which days of the week I am doing what. Also, eating low carb depletes glycogen stores to where our bodies eat the fat. Having them back to back depletes those glycogen stores even more. Then go back to regular carb days and the body says, here she goes again! So metabolism stays revved up

      Awe, Vicky, do you have bronchitis now? They put me on antibiotics, which did help up the yellow I was coughing up and blowing out my nose. (sorry if too much TMI). But I dint feel like it was helping me after that. What I do think really helped me the most was when I started taking NAC and Oil of Oregano. I bought both of them on Amazon. One of my friends got sick a week after me with the same thing and I gave her my Oil of regal and NAC to start right away and she got better rather quickly.

    I have heard that IF is bad for women in their child bearing years because it messes with hormones. But, it’s great for menopausal women. Any info on this?

    • @sandysteinbrook
      @sandysteinbrook  Год назад +1

      Pregnant and breast feeding mommas should not do IF! As far as messing up hormones, I have not heard that. I’ve heard the opposite…that it helps regulate hormones and it’s also healthy for maintaining a good weight for health.
      Dr Mindy Peltz is a great resource to check out. She has a book called, “Fast like a girl”. I haven’t read the book, but I’ve listened to a lot of her videos after other people told me about her I the comments. She talks about not fasting the week before our menstrual cycle. And yes, IF is definitely great for peri menopause and menopause to keep the weight off.
