@@tcb1672 happy to hear that! Don’t worry if you mess up some days, some of my biggest weight lost days came after a day or two of being off IF and then returning to my IF routine. You’ll do great!
I have been eating the IF way off and on for many years. Two meals plus a snack between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM has worked for me since middle school. As I got older, my health slowly changed - all my numbers went in the wrong direction. I tried all the diets. Surprisingly, for years all my doctors recommended some form of low-carb dieting, along with several medications. Three months ago, after routine blood work showed no change again, I went back to my old meal plan, figuring it would at least get me through the holidays. Last week, my most recent blood tests showed dramatic improvement in A1c, glucose, cholesterol, and iron, plus a 5 pound weight loss. My doctor took me off one medication, reduced another, and is watching the rest. All this while eating reasonable portions of carbs, including desserts and a little wine. I'm donating all the diet books and going back to a 2MAD Mediterranean diet of simply prepared whole foods twice a day. And I'm not giving up tea time either!
I have been doing if+low carb for 5 months and I reversed my pre diabetes and took some numbers of my inflammation and lost 45 pounds and I am still in the journal and loving it. Also I am originally from Somalia 🇸🇴 and growing up there every meal we would have bananas with our meals since we had bananas growing on our gardens. Thank you so much for sharing 🤗🤗

Hi Jennifer, I started IF back in July after trying countless methods & getting the green light from my pcp. Admittedly I was 215 I had never been that heavy. We’ll 6 months on, I hopped on the scale yesterday and I’m now at 187 so I’ve lost 28 lbs thus far. I did go through several weeks where the scale wasn’t moving but I just stayed the course & suddenly in December the scale started to move once more. I’m hoping to drop another 20-30 lbs. I so appreciate you as I had never heard of IF until your videos! I agree with you it’s definitely an easy lifestyle change once you get used to it, took me about two weeks to get used to it now I don’t even notice the delayed eating time.

I don't have much to lose but am already down 3 pounds and an inch smaller at hips and a half inch smaller at the waist. I am very petite so this is dramatic improvement in a very short time frame! Glad it works at any age!

I began intermittent fasting in November. I am currently doing the 18 hour fast, eat my first meal at noon and eat nothing after 6 PM. I do drink black coffee in the morning, and decaf coffee with lunch and dinner. Amazingly I must make myself as I am rarely hungry.
Thanks for sharing your journey with intermittent fasting. I have been long time follower of your channel and enjoy slowing down to watch your videos and bring calm into my life. Happy New Years to you and your family. Looking forward to new ideas and sharing in 2023.
Intermittent fasting changed my life! No headaches, mood swings, fatigue, brain fog, or cravings, and I lost 22 pounds. I'm 48, and I weigh the same as I did in high school.
What a lovely array of meals! Thank you for always sharing Jennifer! I'd love to report I am doing great with in my IF journey. I believe I gave myself too much grace during the holidays.🌺
I have done IF for several years. I usually eat around 10 am ( egg avocado cheese wrap or cottage cheese with avocado and raw sunflower seeds) and again at 6 pm. I will have tea in afternoon and a snack if I'm hungry. It's very easy for me and I lost some weight that had crept on over the years.
I love your way of eating❤ as a mom of little kids how do you get quiet time eating? Or step away and eat outside alone? I have three little kids and I always feel like there is no quiet.😂
Thank you Jennifer. About how many hours pass between your meals? I start a 11 am and end at 7 and I don’t do a tea time. So “breakfast” is at 11, lunch” is about 2-3 and then I’m not hungry for dinner.
More than a year-and-a-half into IF and I feel better than ever. I feel good enough to exercise every day now and I actually want to! Sleeping well and taking supplements my Dr. recommends to boost my immune system. Down about 40 lbs. but that doesn’t even seem like the most important outcome of IF - it’s about my overall improved health.
The new intro is lovely!! Thank you for the video! Your birds are so cute 🥰 My bird feeder is currently stuck under 15 feet of snowdrift. I’ll have to move it in the spring. I miss my little friends.
As always, thank you for sharing part of your life with us. I enjoy watching most of your videos but really enjoy watching the What I eat in a day. I don't really do intermittent fasting but enjoy watching what you eat and the serving size and how appetizing and appealing you make it look.
I have been intermittent fasting for nearly 4 years. I follow a mostly keto carnivore diet but I occasionally indulge in other things. I predominantly do OMAD one meal a day and my health is fantastic I have lost around 18 kilos all up and kept it all off. I used to suffer from debilitating headaches and migraines which I find are mostly triggered by too much sugar. I now find fasting then eating really simple.

Beautifully filmed and a visual treat as usual! Surprised - this seems like a lot of food at frequent intervals. Late to the party and only started intermittent fasting in late Sept but have lost 20lbs and improved my blood numbers. Fairly easy after many years of struggling with diets. Another 20 to go but confident I can do it for once.
Thank you for another lovely video! I've been suffering from Parosmia (distorted taste and smell) for about ten months now, so food is at best, tolerable. I no longer enjoy meals, but love looking at pretty plates with yummy looking food! Actually, I enjoy all of your videos!
I enjoyed watching this video, you along with Dr. David Sinclair inspired me to do IF. I started April ‘22 and have only lost 8 pounds. My non scale victories are what keeps me going. So happy it has worked well for you!

Good morning, I was told that you couldn’t have cream in your coffee. You have heavy cream and have still had success? I was also told that if you have the zero sugar coffee creamers, what are your thoughts on this? Thank you in advance and have a beautiful day!
Hi Jennifer, Your meals look delicious and inspire variety. Do you have more Panamanian meals to share maybe from your mom? I would enjoy adding a Panamanian meal to our rotation which is Mexican and Italian heavy. ☺️ Thank you, Julie 🌷
Hello. You have interesting and visually appetizing meals. A favorite new recipe I tried lately is a Hoppin' John Casserole with smoked pork, black-eyed peas and cooked greens (among other ingredients) topped with a cornbread. I seldom make casseroles but this was full of flavor and even better the next day. I do not do IF. One of my main nutritional concerns is aiming for 30 grams of protein at each meal for optimal muscle protein synthesis. What I really wanted to comment on is how much I enjoy the glimpses of your lovely home. I am always enchanted by how light comes through windows of a home at various times of the day, and I enjoyed seeing this in the footage of you in your darkened kitchen with the dining room visible in the background. I don't know what time of day these scenes were recorded but the visual is quite serene. Thank you.
I have been intermittent fasting for two years. Most days I do 16/8 but sometimes I do 18/6 or 20/4. I start and end each day with ginger tea. I grate ginger and add boiling water. This is my go to beverage for the day. I also like the Marie Calendar pot pies. Love your channel! Love fitting into my clothes!
Hi Jennifer! I have a question or maybe an idea for a video. I was wondering if you could talk about how you got your kids to sleep in their rooms. I have a 4 and 2 year old who insist on sleeping in my room. I am exhausted all the time and I can’t keep them in their rooms no matter how hard I try. I know you don’t show your children, which I highly respect but maybe you could speak a little about this? I’m in desperate need of advice.

I watched your video from 10 months ago where you state you are not doing ITF to lose weight. Today I watch your most recent video this one and its obvious that you lost some weight,.. We can see the bones sticking out in the lower neck/breast area. Well maybe you did not intend to lose weight but you did. You look good. Keep up thergood work.
Please, can you do a video on body image issues. I am 30 and Christian and unsure of how to diet. I am only 1% overweight but feel fat. I am blind so can’t look in the mirror but I somehow believed that if I were skinnier I would be more beautiful and feminine. I have tried I.F., but it reminds me of starving myself so maybe I am not doing it right?? What exercise do you do? How do you measure your meals? How can I feel feminine and pretty and confident in my body? I need help.
I love your videos! I love fried plantains. You should try sweet potato with rice on the side. Your lentil meal looked really good. I love dessert with tea. I recently tried a baked pancake with blueberries and it was delish. I too have recently moved to the bedroom with my tea as I find it so peaceful and relaxing. I should get some good reads. Thanks for the idea. So what time you stop eating for the evening?
Hi Jennifer, I’m very interested in beginning intermittent fasting but I have a question. If you begin your window for eating at 9am, should it not close at 5pm for a 16:8 plan, rather than having your last meal at 5pm? I loved the look of your red lentil dinner… I will have to try it! 😊
I've lost 20 lbs. In 8 months. (I'm now 120 lbs & 5'10) I drink 3-4 glasses of red wine at night though so I'm not following the 16-8 rule exactly. I didn't want to lose weight. It just happened. I didn't even realize I was intermittent fasting. It occurred when hubby retired and we started staying in bed talking and reading till 11 am. every morning. Hubby says "Don't lose anymore weight!" I seem to have plateued now. If not I'll start eating in bed. Haha
This happened to me too. Due to menta heath my sleep schedule is messed up and I would stay in bed much later than I used to. Due to my decreased movement I decreased meals too and I noticed the weight started to drop. However I do recommend supplementing with a multivitamin if you do skip meals
@Susan Novak yes. I have experienced very significant hair loss which is devastating. Again multivitamin supplementation is key. I didn’t realize as the weight was going I was losing nutrients as well. However in my case, I have experienced significant life events so that’s a big factor as well
Looks like you have a lovely day. 🥰I do intermittent fasting but eat vastly differently than you as I eat keto with no carbs and no coffee and mostly 18/4 meal plan but to each own. I do sudoku while I eat sometimes. 🌺
Hi, so you must eat longer than 8 hours if you have meal 1 at 9.00am and start your dinner at 5.00pm. I thought you had to complete the eating before the 8 hours is over in order to have 16 hours without food. I am trying this but I eat later sometimes not starting til 4pm and finish my eating around 11.30pm - midnight. I have to try to eat twice in this time and might sometimes go straight to bed but sometimes stay up later. Previously it worked really well with no sugar and OMAD (no snacks) but having seen what you eat I am trying this way just to see if it works for me. (The trouble is that I feel I can snack this way.) We will see. Thanks for the videos.
Update: this didnt work for me but made me put on weight. Sadly, keto or just carnivore have shown the best results for me but such restrictions can only be tolerated for short periods.
I am so glad you shared, I could never eat that much food plus loose weight. I know you didn’t speak about weight lose , yet it implies that’s how you lost weight and maintain. Glad it works for you.

I'm currently working on developing my meal plan and eating schedule. I'm dealing with a number of medical issues and I'm hoping that this will be one of steps to arresting the problems I'm dealing with. Thank you for your video it gives me another perspective to consider.
I find it easiest to skip breakfast personally...and just eat two meals but do supplement with a multivitamin. It’s just one less thing to think about. Or I’ll eat breakfast for lunch and have a salad
Hi Jennifer, I haven't lost much weight while trying IF but I tend to fast during the day and eat from 4pm through 9pm. Its usually a full dinner and dessert (sometimes wine). Do you think the time of day makes a big difference? Just wondering what the research says. Perhaps I should be fasting earlier. Also what time to you typical go to bed and wake up? I really enjoy your videos. Thank you!
Hi! The Washington Post just came out with this article on the timing of your meals, which I found interesting www.msn.com/en-us/health/weightloss/it-s-not-just-what-you-eat-but-the-time-of-day-you-eat-it/ar-AA16a2D3 Maybe that can help! I typically go to bed by 10:30 pm and wake up by 5:30 am.
I've been doing 16:8 for 2 years and have had tremendous success. I'm metabolically healthy and am not overweight anymore and on no medications in my mid-40's. I start off with a coffee with a tablespoon of heavy cream and then don't eat until 11 am, no snack in between and then dinner around 6 or 630 with no dessert. Sometimes I'll have a couple tablespoons of all natural peanut butter right after I eat if I have a sweet tooth. Be careful with nut butters, though. Make sure the only ingredients are the nut the butter is made from and salt if you like that. Should be 2 ingredients at the most. A lot of these corporations with stamp "All Natural" on the label but will mix with a bunch of junk like nasty vegetable oils (canola, palm, etc.). Those are cheap inflammatory oils. I personally think 9pm is a little late to eat, but that depends on your schedule. Most docs I follow recommend no "bedtime snack" and recommend eating your last meal at least 3 hrs before you go to bed. Your late night meal could be giving you the problem of dropping weight the way you want. Jennifer is clearly an active, healthy person that can eat stuff like rice, toast, pie, croutons and it won't hurt her. Personally...that's too many carbs for me, I can't handle that. The other stuff she showed in this video is great. Eggs, avocado, romaine lettuce salad, salmon and the "full fat" cottage cheese. Maybe try more healthy fats with fewer carbs if that's not what you doing already along with much earlier last meal.
What time do you go to bed? Are you taking a 10-15 minute walk or some kind of exercise after your last meal? I recommend looking up Dr. Mindy Pelz YT channel. She sites a lot of research and uses her clinical data to make recommendations for fasting for women. She has found that women typically do better eating earlier in the day than later at night. And Mike Mutzel (High Intensity Health) sites lots of research, too, and promotes finishing eating at least 3 or 4 hours before bed, going for a 10-20 minute walk after each meal, and possibly taking berberine after the last meal to help bring down blood glucose faster.
Jennifer, your menu looks yummy! Love the breakfast with berries, but if I eat banana for dinner, I’d gain weight because it has tons of sugar in it, then bread, dessert and cookies and white rice all glucose. Maybe your A1C numbers are good but I have to watch mine. I still enjoy your video. You have good contains. 👏
Congratulations!! If you happen to be breastfeeding/pumping, Dr. Mindy Pelz says not to do more than a 15 hour fast because you don't want to trigger any detoxing in your body - all that gunk would get in the breastmilk. But if you are not, then just ignore this. :) Enjoy all those sweet snuggles!
I’m a big fan of IF and have done it successfully in the past but then got out of the habit. Now 3 years later I can’t seem to start again 🙁 I find I can’t last too long fasting before I feel headache and lousy. Any tips for starting off again anyone please?
I’ve been trying to do intermittent fasting, on the advice of my doctor for awhile now, but the problem I’ve been having is hunger at bedtime. I eat until I’m full at supper around 5:45-6:00, and try to have enough fiber and fat in the meal. I go to bed early and sometimes I can’t get to sleep because I’m hungry. Kind of frustrating
Are you eating enough protein? Also maybe have some herbal tea? I don’t always make it because as working mom it’s hard to get dinner ready early but I’ve read from many sources that it is ideal to finish eating 3 hours before bedtime.
I am really glad that your diet is working for you and you look amazing. But you do not do an 16/8 intermittent fast. If you are having heavy cream at 6pm, you har having food.

Thanks for sharing your journey with intermittent fasting. I have been long time follower of your channel and enjoy slowing down to watch your videos and bring calm into my life. Happy New Years to you and your family. Looking forward to new ideas and sharing in 2023.
Would you please link the red lentils and rice to the original recipe video? Thank you so much. My husband will absolutely love it.
Intermittent fasting changed my life! No headaches, mood swings, fatigue, brain fog, or cravings, and I lost 22 pounds. I'm 48, and I weigh the same as I did in high school.
Wonderful! ✨
My eating window starts around 5 a.m. and goes until noon. I eat breakfast, a snack, and then lunch. I skip dinner. I find it easier to fast this way.
Can you link the recipe for the lentils meal? It looks appealing to me!
I looked for it too
What a lovely array of meals! Thank you for always sharing Jennifer! I'd love to report I am doing great with in my IF journey. I believe I gave myself too much grace during the holidays.🌺
That's ok! It's a new year!
@@TheDailyConnoisseur you are so kind. 🥰
I love lentils, can you share the lentil recipe?
Lovely wholesome meals Jennifer, thank you ❤
I’m trying to find your lentil recipe! Could you share it please? Thanks!🦜
Thank you Jennifer. About how many hours pass between your meals? I start a 11 am and end at 7 and I don’t do a tea time. So “breakfast” is at 11, lunch” is about 2-3 and then I’m not hungry for dinner.
Could you share the recipes in written format? I’d love to make the lentil dish 😋
Amazing! I’ve managed to lose some weight but have yet to incorporate fitness
I love fried plantains with dinner ! I had them in Haiti and they were so filling and rich.
My big takeaway from your video is the major reduction in sugar and processed foods. So helpful to see.
The new intro is lovely!! Thank you for the video!
Your birds are so cute 🥰 My bird feeder is currently stuck under 15 feet of snowdrift. I’ll have to move it in the spring. I miss my little friends.
Beautiful food, thank you for sharing your healthy food choices. I'm curious as to how this is IF? It seems like a lot of food over the day.
As always, thank you for sharing part of your life with us. I enjoy watching most of your videos but really enjoy watching the What I eat in a day. I don't really do intermittent fasting but enjoy watching what you eat and the serving size and how appetizing and appealing you make it look.
✨Thank you! I"m so glad you enjoyed the video

I just started watching you and I am going to try fasting.
Could you tell me what time have your last and first meal?
I'm sorry you're going through that! I hope it resolves itself soon.
@@TheDailyConnoisseur me too! In the meantime, the meals look delicious!
@@lindaleclair8938 Have you tried taking a zinc supplement? It may help.
I enjoyed watching this video, you along with Dr. David Sinclair inspired me to do IF. I started April ‘22 and have only lost 8 pounds. My non scale victories are what keeps me going. So happy it has worked well for you!
I love to see the meals , what a great idea, thank you, it look so delicious to my palate, has given me great new idea’s
What ranch dressing do you like
I’d love if you’d post some of these recipes! I always find your recipes inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
I always enjoy seeing the meals you make Jennifer! I love to cook, but currently my children are going through a picky phase and sometimes that takes the joy out of making a meal!
That is challenging!
I love your what I eat videos please post more! ,❤️
Could you share your fitness routine? Did you workout while losing weight? And what are your forms of exercise?

Thanks for sharing your food, I'm def going to buy some pique tea !
Hi just a quick question I started fasting now and i am a bit unsure if i an aloud to have some suger in my coffee after I brake fast ?
Good morning, I was told that you couldn’t have cream in your coffee. You have heavy cream and have still had success? I was also told that if you have the zero sugar coffee creamers, what are your thoughts on this? Thank you in advance and have a beautiful day!
Hi Jennifer, Your meals look delicious and inspire variety. Do you have more Panamanian meals to share maybe from your mom? I would enjoy adding a Panamanian meal to our rotation which is Mexican and Italian heavy. ☺️ Thank you, Julie 🌷
Mainly it's fried plantains. We fry them in coconut oil. So good... I also get the lentil recipe from my mom too.
@@TheDailyConnoisseur Thank you, Jennifer.
I would love to see some panamanian cuisine as well
Thank you.
I too love looking into her home, or any home that’s neat and tidy and well decorated
What a beautiful new intro :)
Feels like spring already. Warm regards.

Hi Jennifer, can you share what are the times that you have your meals? What time do you stop eating for the day?
Hello! The times are listed on the screen. My last meal begins at 5 usually…
When do you fast if you're eating those meals
Thanku Jennifer for your hard work it’s sooooo appreciated God Bless you abundantly I have been in a pit of depression the holidays were not good God is helping me and your vlogs and Instagram are extremely encouraging I pray for peace and vitality for life as you have You and your family will always be blest and favoured by Our God in heaven

Do you have a recipe for the lentil meal? It look so good!
Of course you should write a cookbook
Having just found you and because I have been struggling with weight gain at 60 years and on HRT, I will definitely try IF, you make it so doable. I am watching your playlist slowly but was wondering do I need todo apple cider vinegar and lemon on waking? I have incorporated gentle exercise most days since retiring at the beginning of the pandemic but have just gained weight. Let’s give this a go - wish me luck 🍀 😊
Happy New Year! Jennifer, it would be so helpful to get an idea of the times that you eat-I have so much trouble fitting it all in! Also, do you exercise before eating breakfast? Many thanks!
Hello! The times are listed on the screen for each meal. And yes, I do exercise before breakfast. I'll address that in a video soon. Thank you!
Where can I find your red lintel recipe?
Looks delicious
im new at this 16:8, and having a hard time on what to eat. i do not eat eggs, fish or meat. im a vegetable and cheese lover. any ideas?
I love your videos! I just started my Intermittent Fasting Journey. Can you please tell me where I can find your recipe for the red lentil bean dinner? Thanks!😊
Thanks for the meal ideas 😊
Very motivating to watch, thank you, your meals look delicious and filling.
Doing IF about 2 1/2 going well. Got off track from thanksgiving to Christmas but back in now. No weight gain then so that was nice 😊
I loved how the first breakfast looked!

@@TheDailyConnoisseur very familiar with them! 🤪 try to see if you can block from your end. I hope others don’t believe it’s actually you
I watched your video from 10 months ago where you state you are not doing ITF to lose weight. Today I watch your most recent video this one and its obvious that you lost some weight,.. We can see the bones sticking out in the lower neck/breast
area.
I don’t IF but I love your meals as inspiration!
I've lost 20 lbs. In 8 months. (I'm now 120 lbs & 5'10)
I drink 3-4 glasses of red wine at night though so I'm not following the 16-8 rule exactly.
Haha
Hi Lisa. Slow down on the wine. Even though it is enjoyable, wine is linked more and more to breast cancer. Do some research.
Oh, I love this!
This happened to me too. Due to menta heath my sleep schedule is messed up and I would stay in bed much later than I used to. Due to my decreased movement I decreased meals too and I noticed the weight started to drop. However I do recommend supplementing with a multivitamin if you do skip meals
Your husband gives you good advice. You’re slightly on the underweight side and you don’t want to run the increased risk of osteoporosis or anemia .
What do you do with the other 2hrs?
😊 you might want to consider adding some carbs (especially veggies and fruits) into your diet.
Yummy. Do you share the recipe for the last rice dinner dish?
Pique Tea. Had me at Jason Fung!
Thank you 😊
In Puerto Rico, we also love our ripe plantains or a banana with our rice and beans!
I don’t eat vegetables. I love that dish at the end.
Hello. Thank you for you lovely video. You are so calm and wonderful. My 16:8 is going slowly but I feel well.
Thank you again.

Oooh I recommend trying black truffle salt on your soft boiled eggs! A real elevation.
Please ignore the spam account that is impersonating me in the comments. I have reported them. Black truffle salt sounds amazing!
How many carbs a day?
Just had twins 2 weeks ago about to start fasting in next couple of weeks. 💖 baby weight
Love the IF sessions. X
How can you manage to have tea time so quietly with your kids??
Love your content. I am also on lifestyle fasting journey. And, us Cubans love bananas with our food too 😂
I’ve been trying to do intermittent fasting, on the advice of my doctor for awhile now, but the problem I’ve been having is hunger at bedtime. I eat until I’m full at supper around 5:45-6:00, and try to have enough fiber and fat in the meal. I go to bed early and sometimes I can’t get to sleep because I’m hungry. Kind of frustrating
consider shifting your window, say from 12 noon - 8PM
@@gwenellison3937 that's what I did, I m usually not hungry in the morning so I eat dinner around 7pm, and works fine with me.
Are you eating enough protein? Also maybe have some herbal tea? I don’t always make it because as working mom it’s hard to get dinner ready early but I’ve read from many sources that it is ideal to finish eating 3 hours before bedtime.
I have heard many people with thyroid issues say the same thing.
I am really glad that your diet is working for you and you look amazing. But you do not do an 16/8 intermittent fast. If you are having heavy cream at 6pm, you har having food.
