Oh your video made me cry. I was trying to take my mind off of losing my dear mother-in-law today and your videos always calm me. So when you mentioned your dad, it was like you read my mind. My mother in law loved cooking for people and took immense joy in that. I hope to keep some of her recipes alive and be even as a fraction of how generous she was.
i dont know what is more difficult - to have a very loving father/grandfather like that and lose him, or to never having experienced the love of your parents at all, which is my case. I learned to love myself immensely because of this, but wish i could have felt such love from my father/mother.
I can relate. I also have lost one my parents. Both of my parents were and are toxic and unloving. I can only speak to my experience. Grief is grief. And loss, be it good it bad, is still loss. It's been several years since the one parent passed and I still grieve at certain times. For me even though I didn't experience the love from them I still loved them. Not having the love from them I think is difficult because when a see a loving parent or hear about a loving parent experience I have this yearning of "what could have been" followed by the reality of "it will never happen" because they're no longer here.
@@user56gghtfThank you for sharing. In my case they hurt me so much that i began to realize even if they still live, that This Will Never Happen. The love that i was craving was never there and will never be. They just cannot see my gifts. When i started to feel free of them in my heart, i finally was able to start offer love to myself.
@@dumitriudaniela You're welcome. I came to the same conclusion after several years of trying. I hope you well in your healing journey. God loves you and He always has.
I lost my dad 2 days before his birthday in 2020. He used to drive the hour and a half to have dinner or lunch with me whenever I mentioned I'd be making Italian Chicken soup. He loved it and loved having to excuse to come see us. Every time I make it now, I tear up a little.
You are such an inspiration to living well and enjoying everyday life, Jennifer! That made me tear up at the end. The sweet memories of your dad. It’s nice that your daughter is carrying on and making it for the family ❤ I lost my mom and sister, and it’s because of them that I started doing cooking videos. I wanted to keep their memory alive by cooking all the foods we used to cook together growing up in Belize. I get emotional sometimes while doing my videos, but I know they are watching over me 😊
I love these what I eat in a day videos from you! And thank you for leaving in the part about your daughter's pavlova and how she's carrying on the memory of your dad. Such a tender moment. ❤️❤️❤️
I am crying at the Pavlova story. The dessert is beautiful, but carrying on the tradition of your father is even more beautiful. Thank you for sharing such a touching and meaningful part of your family life.
Beautiful video, and I cried right along with you. Your transparency is admirable and one of the elements that makes your channel so unique , thank you 😊
I totally understand what you were saying about food and recipes holding so many memories. My mother passed away one year ago, and my sister and I have been pouring over all of my mother's cookbooks and recipe binders. I just love reading all the recipes she's made over the years, and there's also an entire catalog of recipes she wanted to try... news and magazine clippings, etc. with all of her notes and her handwritten recipe cards. It just means so much to my sister and I
As a person who has also lost a parent this video made me cry at the end. My family is leaning into vegetarianism, it's helping us eat a wider variety of food. Tonight we're having lentil and pea curry with roti. I made the sauce with coconut milk so I expect it to be yummy. Thank you for the beautiful video.
This is such a lovely video, I lost my mother back in 2019 and my father in 2000 but I still remember to this day. Your father will always be with you forever, God bless you 🌺🩷
My heart goes out to you as you remember your beloved father teaching your daughter how to make your dessert, thank you for sharing your precious memories of him with us😘
I love that your daughter is still making this special dessert that she made with her grandpa. I have a similar story and what a great way to remember the ones we love! ❤❤❤

The cherries pavlova is a beautiful link with your Dad, a special connection with him for your daughter to treasure, and a lovely way to keep him with you. Best wishes.
I understand your emotions. My Dad left us with many years of memories of his cooking. I made a small cookbook of his recipes and passed out to family members. What a wonderful tribute to your father. Thank you.❤ 12:33
Oh my goodness I’m watching this 6 months after you made it, and it made me cry. I lost my mom 4 years ago and I still have moments like these. Yes, food brings memories back! But aren’t we glad about that? It’s a beautiful thing.

He was so proud of you and your sweet family. You will see him again in a place where there are no more tears (((((hugs))))))).

I love the connection between your father and your daughter so much. My father and I collected pennies together and anywhere he travelled he would bring back a money token of some sort to share. I’ve been following you Jennifer for three years and was only really interested in your IF weight loss journey. But along the way you’ve drawn me into you chic formal lifestyle. I’ve just finished reading all of your Madam Chic series and I’m sold on your approach to life. I’ve been attempting to upgrade from looking out together to Paris chic. Today I’m getting over a hip replacement er placement so need to be in comfortable clothes. Also, I loved your last "short"!! xo) With love, Kellie
I lost my Grandma in 1991. She was an amazing cook, and I have a book with some of her hand-written recipies. I will often make one of them. Of course, there are no tears now 3 decades later, but it shows how her memory still lives on in our house 33 years later, as will your Dad's Pavlova recipie. That's what family means to me.
Very touching tribute to your father ❤ ive realized that ive lost alot of close family members in a very short timespan. Previous to 2020, i was lucky enough to never experience much loss, so im still having to reconcile the feelings of those that ive lost as well as those that are undergoing chronic illness and not exactly sure how im supposed to prepare for them 😢😢
Those are the cutest butterfly earrings! Jennifer, I've been kind of struggling with wanting to snack around 7 or 8pm , I really need to get it together! Any tips?
I always enjoy your videos. I don't think there's one I haven't enjoyed yet. I am actually a distant niece of Emily Dickinson, and I always enjoy your additions of her work being thrown in, though all of art history is always enjoyable.
@TheDailyConnoisseur A crazy woman, and a crazy family, but I'd like to think I am a bit more balanced. ;) There is absolutely no denying her God given gifts though.
Now this will be a truly special dessert going forward. How precious 💕💓 no worries nor apologies for showing emotion. No time period for grieve darling dearest. Be well

Jennifer. Your sweet father would be so touched that his precious grandaughter remembers him in this way. 💕
Hi Jennifer! First, you look absolutely stunning in this video and I love your hair!! I think you cut it, am I correct? Love it!! Also, the story of your dad and daughter was beautiful. Thank you for sharing something so special with us. It took my heart. Lastly, the food looked SO good!! Have a lovely week and see you Thursday! (Oh!
Will you be sharing the recipe for pavlova? All foods look delicious!
Very touching tribute to your father ❤ ive realized that ive lost alot of close family members in a very short timespan. Previous to 2020, i was lucky enough to never experience much loss, so im still having to reconcile the feelings of those that ive lost as well as those that are undergoing chronic illness and not exactly sure how im supposed to prepare for them 😢😢
You got me crying thinking about my grandmother and her Italian cooking
Bless you and your family!
What a precious family memory and tradition your daughter is carrying on. ❤
love starting the morning with you🤍
I love that you're here. Thank you!
Those are the cutest butterfly earrings! Jennifer, I've been kind of struggling with wanting to snack around 7 or 8pm , I really need to get it together! Any tips?
I understand how you feel with missing your dad. My dad passed 22 years ago, and I still miss him.
Cilantro likes cooler temps, so you could try keeping it shaded and well watered to try to help it. There are also more heat tolerant varieties. 😊
Thank you for sharing. My family has some special foods that evoke memories ❤
...you're real, Jennifer and a beautiful lady...may God continue to comfort you.
You are the best!!!
I always enjoy your videos. I don't think there's one I haven't enjoyed yet. I am actually a distant niece of Emily Dickinson, and I always enjoy your additions of her work being thrown in, though all of art history is always enjoyable.
Wow! How amazing ♥
@TheDailyConnoisseur A crazy woman, and a crazy family, but I'd like to think I am a bit more balanced. ;) There is absolutely no denying her God given gifts though.
Jennifer, I make nearly everything you show and love it all! If it wouldn’t be too personal I would love to try to make your Dads Pavlova recipe ❤
Beautiful video-thank you! Thinking of you as you remember your Dad. My father passed last Fall😢❤
That pavlova really did look amazing. 😊
Now this will be a truly special dessert going forward. How precious 💕💓 no worries nor apologies for showing emotion. No time period for grieve darling dearest. Be well
