Hopefully 1 day I can find a good Z. The issue with the V series skyline as an import is the increased insurance and the issue with the automatic transmissions…there’s difficulty in servicing them in Australia I believe. Have you reviewed the 370z? Fir around $30k, it’s quite an affordable hard core 245kw rwd non turbo sport car…that will one day be a collectible.
Thanks mate! Appreciate the support.. I used to own a V35 here.. I did have to insure it with a special company (Shannon’s) since it was an import.. mine was manual tho so services were simple

Skylines were rebadged as G35s, G25s, G37s, Q40s, Q50s, and are technically Q60s too. They were all midsized or compact vehicles. Fugas and Cimas were rebadged as M45s, M35s, Q70s, and Q56s. They were all full sized vehicles.
I got my auto 06 350gt coupe for only 7.5K NZD, much cheaper than a 350z here in New Zealand. Mine is also premium trim with only 120k kilometers. A Z in similar shape easily gets 15k NZD here.
Wish I could find a manual one. Very few on the roads in the uk. Plenty of 350z’s which I’ve been looking at getting but I’d love one of these with manual.
I currently have the High Rev 2005 350GT and I don’t know if it’s standard or not but it will spin in every gear when planted hard which I initially found disconcerting due to my previously owned R35 which rarely lost traction. I agree that value for money is great, sounds awesome through the Magnaflow Exhaust and is so much fun to drive. I wouldn’t recommend for an inexperienced driver though.
In the UK a clean one of these is not far from the cost of a 370Z. There’s something to be said about having a non import, far newer car (new rubbers, plastics, easily available parts etc) and with better performance over the sacrifices of a much older import. I love older jdm imports though. 😑
bought a 04 G35 5 years ago, my 1st Import Car, immediately fell in Love with the Car and 1st thought was Underrated Car. Of course I have a small collection of G Coupes now including a 37S. The same can be said here in the US, you can buy a pretty nice G for a lot less than a Z and myself of course biased towards, but why would you buy any different?
hey when you got your imported g35, because im literally in the exact same spot as you were haha, buying an imported 04 g35, did it have the 180 km/h speed limit when you got it? if it did, what did you do to remove it?
In my opinion the v35 coupe maybe more the v36 coupe (vq37) but it's a baby r35 gtr. Every gtr has a baby, the gt gts gtst gts25t gts25. So on so on, also the r35 is the only gtr to use a v style engine, so it makes sence that the baby 35 use a v style engine and I'd say they used the vq as the vr30dett is still under testing and the vq is confirmed reliable.
I've owned a 350Z, you are talking like this V35 is a better handling car. Longer wheelbase would make a difference but what else is there. A stiffer chassis?
HOLD UP! on the V35, when you break, both tail lights light up? or did i hear that wrong? on the G35 when you break, only one circle light up and the other corner circle is just the turn signal.

I have both coupes. G35 and G37x. I don't drive the 35 much. It's mint and so sexy but the 37x is twice the car.... redsport 400 will soon be next!
Ill never forget after fast and furious Tokyo drift at the cinemas and walking one of these in my stock 91 Soarer 1JZ. He was devastated haha.
🤣 it’s not hard to gap one of these but they are a fun car
I got my auto 06 350gt coupe for only 7.5K NZD, much cheaper than a 350z here in New Zealand. Mine is also premium trim with only 120k kilometers. A Z in similar shape easily gets 15k NZD here.
I got my 06 350gt coupe for a good deal here in nz for 3k with only 100ks
Awesome review.. I saw the VDC lights on on your dashboard when you did the 7secs test
Yup had to turn that on
It sounds so good
Great sounding V6
Wish I could find a manual one. Very few on the roads in the uk. Plenty of 350z’s which I’ve been looking at getting but I’d love one of these with manual.
They are more rare in a Manual unfortunately
Would like to see a review of the Skyline 370GT - G37 & how it compares to the G35
I wouldn’t recommend for an inexperienced driver though.
interesting.. usually if stock it would not spin every gear...
In the UK a clean one of these is not far from the cost of a 370Z. There’s something to be said about having a non import, far newer car (new rubbers, plastics, easily available parts etc) and with better performance over the sacrifices of a much older import. I love older jdm imports though. 😑
really?? here in aus a 370z is almost triple the price
bought a 04 G35 5 years ago, my 1st Import Car, immediately fell in Love with the Car and 1st thought was Underrated Car.
I seen a 4 door model a few days ago for the first time, quite liked it also
They can be made cool aswell!
Mint review as always man, you could tell you had that soft spot having had one before, it's a good feeling re experiencing an old love
@@josheee6123 100% man.. was waiting a long time to get behind the wheel again with a manual :)
I have an m35 stagea with the vq35 and a 6speed manual. it's boaty but still good fun to drive
This car is reliable, fun to drive and enough power.
Yup solid car
just bought one of these recently
Enjoy it? They go well
Man the exhaust ❤
Always wanted one of these gems
They are a nice car when configured right 👌
I supercharged my 2003 V35 Skyline last year. Its bloody bonkers now! haha
That would be epic!
Just finished the video, what the hell. 7 seconds I get 0-100 in 5 seconds I do have auto though
Great review Jono cheers.
Thank you
In nz 350gt manuals are sub 10k
Cheap as they should be
@RossReviewsau exactly 💯 fun asf cars and all the power you really need in a nice na curve.
There was a G35 in fast and furious 4 damn my pops had a manual sedan 04 G35
they are a really great car..
@@RossReviewsau I had an 06 but auto sadly
I've owned a 350Z, you are talking like this V35 is a better handling car. Longer wheelbase would make a difference but what else is there. A stiffer chassis?
Nice ride great car for young guy wanting to cruise with his friends and mod and go to cars and coffee
100% great for the younger gen
HOLD UP! on the V35, when you break, both tail lights light up? or did i hear that wrong? on the G35 when you break, only one circle light up and the other corner circle is just the turn signal.
Be a good first car for those who are going for their licence
100%
Agreed
You mean a good car to lose your license 😂 I can't stop hooning since I got one of these.
@@mattr4078 it depends on how you treat it
Man i just got mine and im very interested in picking one up
Do you think it would be smart to buy 10 and preserve them? Will they ever have a following like the older JDM?
I don’t think they will be as desirable as the 32,33,34 skylines showed unfortunately.
Sound's fantastic
Good noise eh
Nice car bro, where did you get the step that says skyline?
It’s a JDM car so that’s factory
I always thought the R35 GTR was the GTR variant for v35 no?
I mean there is a little that’s in common and the concept was built off of a V35 from memory but they are very far apart
if you're a broke student like me
a 250GT is an even cheaper option 👀
amen brother go for it 🤣
Hey ross which is faster this or a 2006 wrx
Pretty similar I would guess
He needs glasses if he thought this was a skyline. It's clearly and INFINITI G35. Just because you badge it with a nissan emblem doesn't make it a nissan.
Do your research bro it’s a skyline
@@RossReviewsau how about you get yourself checked bro. Go look at an r32, r33, r34 and tell me how that "infiniti G35" is a skyline.
@@user-up3vx2hk1qThe G35 is marketed as the "Nissan Skyline V35" in Japan, while the G35 is marketed as the "Infiniti G35" in America. So therefore it IS a skyline. Do some fucking research because a skyline doesn't have to be an r32-33-34, Hakosukas and Kenmeris exist.
@@cassi2102 you're full of it bro. pass me whatever you're smoking. Show me an rb26 under the hood of that "infiniti" "G35" cause it ain't no skyline. You're nuts man. V35 my ass, skyline my ass. Look at it. It's literally a G35 homie. Get ya eyes checked.
Its not the fastest place an AAM twin turbo competition complete system on it these are special 350Z 370Z G35 G37 Skyline V35 Turbo kits
Love your videos. Do ye guys have to pay taxes when they land in USA?? I'd love a car like this but we have to pay extortionate tax once they land
Glad you enjoy the videos! I’m in Australia so not sure mate
Great video, though it's a shame that these cars aren't P-Plate legal in most states... An idea for your other channel is to go through all of the cars you've owned, from your first to your current cars...
One thing to note, the Skyline was an average Japanese sedan, which was turned into a performance coupe like the GT-R, etc...
I was under the impression that most states were P plate legal only nsw or vic it wasn’t.. also that makes no sense why not p plate legal🤣
@@RossReviewsau I think only Auto 2.5 sedans are legal but the rules are very patchy here...
They are legal under the name infiniti .Infiniti is a luxury division of nissan
@@deedee8043 They're actually not...
What kind of rims are they?
How do these compare to the v36 350gt? I remember you reviewed one a while ago, I used to own one
both are excellent cars.. very similar :)
They never sold them in Australia because the Infiniti brand didn't exist (until end of cycle of v36 for a very short period of time) and that they were too expensive. V36 failed as it was already an old car by then and couldn't compete with customers wanting a german badge instead.
True.. tuff sale here I guess with so many killer sedans to choose back then
Wowza didn’t even know you did a video on this, Im sitting next to my 350gt right now 5 speed auto, she goes hard considering I’m on my ps 🤣 haven’t lost a single race to any i6/v6, I own a ba xr6 mkll as-well and sad to say it blows it away. For now ;)… Love this car, not as much as a xr6t tho ;).
smart dude! they are really fun cars i used to own one.. loved it tho gotta get a manual!
Prices gave gone up a lot cuz covid tax, really want a manual one!
Manual ones are rare especially..
Whats a decent price to purchase one in Victoria , my son is after V35/G35 or a 370 but has zero clue ?
for a nice low km V35.. they can cost as much as 20k now.. but between 10-15 would be fair.. 370Z will be 20-30k
@@RossReviewsau Thank you , he is looking at one that has 200,000 klms country driving , for $8600 with roadworthy .
What exhaust is that? It sounds clean
I’m not sure to be honest
What's the name of them wheels ❤
Well you got one thing wrong but it's not that big a deal instead of 276 horsepower it's actually 287, but I can see why some will be confused
Most limited around 276-280 if not it has 309 hp like they all drive at top speed 250 km/h
Great review Ross, as usual. Cheers 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🇳🇿
Thank you mate
As a fan of both the 350z and a massive fan of the skyline. I will say this isn’t a skyline it’s a luxury 350z with quad tails. But yeah
I understand your point for sure 😂
The Skyline has been around since the 1950s, its made up of family sedans and sports variants.
What exhaust is on that?
“They could have made a better one” that’s your job man!
modifi ;)
Yeah it's a nice little package all round Johnny mate,I don't know why we didn't get them here when they first released they're better than the 350Z,ok thanks man great review cheers.
That’s it.. nothing crazy but just a nice cheap jdm sports car.. and that’s hard to find now a days
@@RossReviewsau I think the V series was heavier than the Z due to all the luxury features.
Does it look like from the middle back it looks just like a G35 but from the middle up looks like a 350z?? Anyone see this besides me?😂
My workmate has one, a manual... it's only just quicker than my stock BA fairmont lol... skylines are a beast, I gotta say they dropped off a bit here
🤣 it’s not fast yes but like an 86 or something it’s still fun to drive.. it’s cheap.. good young fellow car
Skylines where around since the 1950s, they are also family sedans.
why the same car is infiniti and nissan how
Acura same as Honda same same
It's almost a early 2000's 86/BRZ basically... 🤷🤷
Basically 🤣
The s2000 deserves a mention. Over the 1/4 mile it keeps up with a 350z. Only after 3rd gear does the Z creep ahead
wdym no gtr??? gtr35 ... hellloooo ???
I really wish this guy didn’t make this video….now G35 coupes will go up in price dammit.
😅 sorry
It’s not really a great level entry csr with a price tag of 25k
You can find them a lot cheaper this was a low km manual from a dealer so will always be priced high
It's nice don't really see them around
Great cars
Come.on guys the Vr4 Legnum/Galant is definitely the cheapest jdm car
I’m not calling it just the cheapest JDM car but what’s the best bang for buck😅
Not in America.
@@RossReviewsau yeah legnums win that category too.
Ur comparing it to a Honda
???
7.5 seconds? lol you’re just bad at stick
🙃
Go watch @nitish 21 he make 990whp
Honestly can’t stand these cars, most of the time
Just leave them “classy” people and don’t try to make it something it isn’t
True I like them just with a little low and classic wheels n exhaust 👍 don’t need much
chur maori
👍🫡
tossible...mmmm baby
🤣
