As far as the GT-R goes, it was based off this car. In the early 2000s, test mules of the V35 were used to develop the Nissan GT-R Protos.

I am watching while considering buying this car as well. There is a 350GT 2004 import with only 60kk here and i am so close to pulling to the trigger. The only thing holding me back is updating/if i should even touch it considering everything is stock & the expense of upkeep if it needs work/parts as it's rare. @@ace3998 You would think it’s hard to find parts for but as it has the same engine as the 350z it’s quite easy. As Infiniti at a point took over production it is quite easy to order parts from the states. Only thing I could see you having a tiny bit of trouble with body parts but Australia has a decent amount of parts laying around and 350z parts work in terms of engine and exhaust but America has a lot on offer. Oil is your biggest expense but it’s not too bad, common for most cars tbh.

    great vid.
I've got a 04 G35 coupe (usa version). I noticed a couple differences between my model and yours.
-My seats are all leather, yours have some suede mixed in.
-My dashboard clock is a seperate, analogue clock.
-I believe the upgraded brakes are standard on the 6mt.
-The pop up video display that you mentioned should be avoided at all cost. The GPS in not able to be updated, so your maps will be 15 years out of date.
PRICE: i didn't look up the exchange rate BUT...
I paid only $7800 USD last year for a low mileage G coupe... only 80,000 miles.
Inflation is driving things up... but I have been UNABLE to sell the car this year for $10k and so I will happily keep it for another year. It is a pure driver's car, the RWD gives a feel that NO HONDA can give and adequate power make this the most fun you can legally have for under $8000.

It struggles to keep up with all of these 2.0L Turbos out there. So if economical sporty fun WERE MY ONLY CONCERN, I would keep it for sure. I have the nicest possible car for $8k.
But, getting beat by Hyundai Kona, 1.6T? So. It's time to invest $3-$4 for mods... but I will still be driving a 19 year old car. So, why not sell, spend an extra $5k and upgrade to a G37? Maybe spend a little more and get a Q50? This is my dilemma?

The awd makes traction much better on a launch and with the grippy tires you stick it almost every time. Also the third gear is where it’s at around 30mph or 48km where you can throw yourself back in your seat the most

Hi Ross. I’ve recently became a fan of your channel. Thanks for the reviews. I’ve been a fan of the Nissan 350/370z since the days of need for speed underground. The V series skyline might be the next best thing. It’s incredible value as an import and as you mentioned it’s very similar to the Z series mechanically, especially the v36 with the 245kw 370z engine and the increased luxury that comes with the V series skyline.
I believe australia never got the skyline v series as the S15 series was nearing a conclusion, and the 350z was the first performance Z since the 260z ( the 300zx twin turbo was never officially sold here)
I’ve been looking at the price of Zs over the past couple of years, it’s going up as most of the Z drivers are older, collectors and not boy racers. Hopefully 1 day I can find a good Z.
The issue with the V series skyline as an import is the increased insurance and the issue with the automatic transmissions…there’s difficulty in servicing them in Australia I believe.
Have you reviewed the 370z? Fir around $30k, it’s quite an affordable hard core 245kw rwd non turbo sport car…that will one day be a collectible.

bought a 04 G35 5 years ago, my 1st Import Car, immediately fell in Love with the Car and 1st thought was Underrated Car. Of course I have a small collection of G Coupes now including a 37S. The same can be said here in the US, you can buy a pretty nice G for a lot less than a Z and myself of course biased towards, but why would you buy any different?

In my opinion the v35 coupe maybe more the v36 coupe (vq37) but it's a baby r35 gtr.
Every gtr has a baby, the gt gts gtst gts25t gts25. So on so on, also the r35 is the only gtr to use a v style engine, so it makes sence that the baby 35 use a v style engine and I'd say they used the vq as the vr30dett is still under testing and the vq is confirmed reliable.
